Never run the patcher / launcher. Always patch by running the "Background downloader.exe" from within the wow folder. It improved my download speed dramatically, from around 100kbs to around 4mbps, and is generally far more reliable in my experience…

Never had this happen but then I use an account authenticator. With so many accounts getting hacked im reluctant to play an mmo unless they provide some extra security methods like the authenticators for smart phones.

Finally... pity it wasn't a bit sooner though, NA have had this for ages and we get this a little too close to the launch of some pretty big titles. Could have done with this 6 months ago but good news none the less.
