Here's what I don't get.. Why can't a company just remake Ultima Online? Just remake a game loosely based on the Ultima Online formula with better graphics and all the sandboxers out there would be happy. Am I wrong?

Actually it's pretty good. Both the multiplayer and single player modes.

The Japanese release should come out simultaneously with the Korean/Chinese/Russian releases. That may actually be the easiest for people to get their hands on, and the release with the best ping to the US.

EVE started out with around the same capital as an indy company, and they're able to effectively deal with hacking. There's no reason why DF shouldn't be able to do the same. Client side or not, which I'm sure EVE is quite a bit client side reliant …

I'm pretty sure if darkfall had the money, they'd be spending it on an actual billing service, before spending it to hire posters to pump up the game. Maybe a second server too.
