I read a lot of websites and it sounds like the original poster is a person who prefers a 'world' game over a game. I myself would prefer a world type of game. they are more immersive and dynamic. The problem is that they are very difficult to do pr…
IMO SoR would have been better served if those ads were placed in their buildings during design time.
Sure the game looks different than other mmorpgs but it's just another treadmill, same as all the rest, and they launched without (imo) their maj…
I haven't installed the 14-day trial and I don't plan to for the foreseeable future. The most disappointed thing about Ryzom is the total lack of story and interesting quests. I can forgive all the other problems (and there are more) but until t…

Are these ingame yet? I won a copy of Ryzom, but I'm waiting for them to implem…
I just wanted to state for the record that *I* do not play mmorpgs for the grind, and I really wish people would speak for themselves and not for others
At any rate I'm glad to see that there will be a focus on something other than loot and l…
While I think it's great that they are adding new dungeons and redesigning the old ones, but imo the biggest problem facing DAoC right now is the pop imbalance; the second biggest problem would be lack of groups for the newbies, and teleportatio…
While I think EQ is an item-centric game, having played HZ and CoH I don't think it's accurate to say that they are based on no loot drops (even though they don't have any). I'd say HZ is based on server wide events (large scale war of players vs un…
Heh I think HZ and CoH have bigger problems than just loot. Actually I don't think a loot system fits in CoH.
Personally I don't really care about dropped loot. I played EQ as well, and after awhile I just got tired of loot and levels being t…

I think the problem isn't the grind. The problem is, is that is it's boring.
The problem is, its very rare in a game for the road to the destination to be fun, and not the thought of the destination that pressures you to…
That certainly sounds cool. What worries me though is that I read somewhere that the level of GM involvement well be less in retail than it was in beta.
Yeah I find it pretty wierd when people say that they are playing x game until another one comes out, but then again I have this 'no treadmill' policy so it's easier for me.
The most addictive game I've ever played was probably the first …
iirc Darkfall will be twitch-based. I suspect though that most of the new mmorpgs coming out will have some sort of twitch involved, but not to the extent of Darkfall. Probably more like DAoC or just a hair above it.
As far as the female avatars are concerned, they were testing the limits of the character optimization.
Im going to be in the beta (it's in Alpha 1 atm). It sounds like a really good and interesting game, but I have to agree about the graphics…
