They are really different games. MMO style, ED is a bit weak on group tools and the way combat works, it won't be that conducive to gang ganking like you see in EVE.
EVE has a lot more group group stuff in it than ED right now but this will change…

Originally posted by Axxar I think they're in mega crunch mode trying to get the game ready enough to release this year. I doubt they have time to worry about making day 1 DLC. Personally wouldn't buy into Beta unless you just can't wait or want to …

Originally posted by tmann50 Just more confirmation of all I have ever heard about Eve. Only play the game if you want to get griefed and endlessly ganked and the game company doesn't give a damn.

It's actually a tough call on community but, in general, yes it's better in sub games.
When you pay up-front for a subscription, you tend to find a community that is also interested enough in that game to pay. Not "just trying everything out".

Perhaps coexist but it would be tricky.
In EVE you volley weapons that do a great deal of damage as the ammo strikes - at a slow pace. Even the fastest weapons we have volley measured in seconds. Lower the damage and provide for faster rates of f…

Gallente has gotten a lot of sweet buffing recently. I'd probably look there for a type of ship to use for now if it's shorter (6mo or so) that you're looking at.

Somewhat.
The same as players measure their performance, game makers look at what they do vs just what they say they are interested in. When they don't do "different" as much as "same", they lock & load that "sameness" as a functional feature.…
The older style wouldn't work with modern gamers.
The ADD nature and "demand" based way games run would preclude most alternate systems from working. It needs to be consistent and predictable. If you can't google the answers on "best build" "how …
Reverse the model for some fun.
You are an infected vs a hero. You are released into cities and must infect the people. The typical "heroes" that come in to destroy the infected are your "boss mobs" that you need to defeat to keep infecting place…
What you're describing sounds like the old "screen scraper" approach - or what was called a "terminal server" - something like Citrix but aimed at gaming.
All that is transmitted are the graphics to the client while all the work is done at the term…
