I think people get tired of all different religeons. And I dont think people hate Catholics, maybe there beliefs or atleast thts what they should do if they dont agree. What is sad is that almost all wars are do to or backed by religeon

As for people hating Catholics? It could be that they sit on huge amounts of wealth at the Vatican while Africans, who make up the largest Catholic population, starve to death ever day. Then comes the publicity about child molestation.
Personally, I really have no problem with Catholics...though it could be that I went to a Catholic school for 13 years and have parents that go to church every week. But I find that Catholics, along with Greek Orthodox, Episcopalians, Methodists, etc to be some of the most level headed christians.
Just don't get me started on the fundamentalists and everything will be ok.
Exactly. I don't seem to like the "take every word of the bible as absolute and utter truth" denominations, because they all seem, for lack of better word, stupid. Catholics typically seem to be more forgiving and less socially conservative.
And I have to agree with your words of advice, modjoe, if you don't know your religion front to back, then you can't believe in it. This is utter nonsense Xexima (told ya' you'd be back). There's no possibly way to "know" any religion "front to back", and it's pretty damn presumptous of you to suggest what anyone else can believe in. Take Christianity for example. A large part of the religion, which is often ignored mind you, is the theory of the "growing Christian". You don't become "perfect" overnight, and you certainly don't understand everything there is to know about the religion. That's why you spend time reading the bible, study the history at the time the bible was published, and meet with like-minded Christians who seek to further knowledge themselves with their beliefs. They however will NEVER know everything there is to know, and they certainly aren't expected to. I don't know what you personally belief about the origin of man, but I can assure that you don't know everything there is to know about WHATEVER theory you do follow.
Im a catholic but don't beileve in alot they say I don't even like saying im catholic but meh... ...lets just think about who took the best part of living away

What my original intention was with the statement, and I believe what Xexima is saying, is that you need a firm understanding of your religion's beliefs before you follow the religion. Sure you can grow as a person in any denomination, but you still need to have a thorough knowledge of the core beliefs. My prime example with Catholics is Transubstantiation. Walk up to 75% of Catholics on the street and ask them what it is, and they will have no idea. Transubstantiation is the key Catholic belief when it somes to the Eucharist, and if you claim to be a Catholic and not know what Trans. is, you are just being ignorant.

Then it is my opinion that you really need to think about converting if this is the case...If you are going to be a part of something, then be a part of it, don't be ashamed to say it.
Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced.

Well, then we are in complete agreement. I just didn't take what Xexima said to be that at all.

Actually, Catholics aren't bad if you bast them over the grill with some spicy barbecue sauce, some sauteed onions, and a little garlic....

Hate is a strong word.
I don't hate anybody.
Religion is bullschit. Catholicism is bullschit. The pope is bullschit.
No hate, just truth.
