Sure we would, name one war where people didn't debate it to death till it was over? Even World War II recieved heavy criticism until the last couple years.

World War II recieved heavy criticism until the last couple years. Did it? Why would people be against it?
People were all about getting back at Japan, it was our involvement in Europe that got some people nervous. We look back at history and see it was clearly the right thing to do, not so easy to convince people of that during that time though. Just like we criticize Iraq now, in fifty years it be be seen as positive move, or how we look down on slavery when it was perfectly normal and accepted when it existed. Mindsets change, points of view change... And the simple fact is some people protest any war regardless, even in the 40's.

One thing to think about, more US citizens died violent deaths in the city of Chicago last month than soldiers in Iraq.
No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee. Hemingway

QFT, more people die every day from at least 20 other domestic problems that could be addressed if not cured if our priorities were right on a cultural level.

Lol, my whole family is a military family. Both parents were in the Air Force. Mother got out in 10 years, father retired after 25 years in.
I just believe this "war" we're "fighting" is a useless war. We already got our revenge for 9/11. All we're doing now is causing more trouble.
I would agree, IF this was still about revenge, it certainly is not.

So? We are taking over Iraq. What? That's not what you thought it was what we are doing? We take out their military, put our own military in, we take out their leaders, put our own leaders in a democracy so it will be capitalist society based on a substance we use more of than every other country in the world combined.
Big deal. Live with it. It's what countries do. You can not name one civilization in all of history that has not done the exact same thing, they just didn't try to hide it.

I'm in a strange place with my position on the war...I don't take the "Bush is a moron fighting his daddy's war" rout because that's really just a childish and easy argument that people say when they just want to be heard and want to express their dissatisfaction with Bush...But at the same time, the war in Iraq reminds me of Planetside...it's completely futile...out intentions there are good, but it's ultimately pointless because no matter what we do, short of genocide(which I am NOT condoning) there will still be Muslim radicals who want to blow themselves up in the name of Allah.
Yes I just called them Muslim radicals, that is what they are...if you have a problem with it then you need to wake up.
Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced.
Not all Muslims are radicals though. Just the ones that want to blow themselves up and the name of their god and people. And thats not even all of them.
Yay for exchange students! We have several muslims in our school right now, and they act like they are american teenagers and have been for their whole life. Kinda neat, especially when they start talking and they have that neato accent. XD

Which is why I qualified it...the problem is that the text is so easily interpreted as violence being okay...now I don't speak arabic(And the Koran specifically says that unless you are SAYING it in the origional arabic, that it isn't technically Koran..they did this to keep it pure), but I do know that when translated into English, it's very easy to do the same thing with the Koran in our own language...I'm not saying that Muslims by their very definition are violent, I'm just saying that the Koran is easily interpreted as such.

"Necessary" is the argument you make in favor of our invasion of Iraq. If you're going to make this argument, then it should follow that we invade a dozen other countries to rectify the problems there. Why does Iraq get a higher priority than Darfur?

You need to read up on history, he HAD WMDs. The whole world knew it, the decade since the first Gulf War was spent yelling at him to get rid of the damn things. The current war happened because he REFUSED to do so, in spite of multiple warnings.
The ONLY thing we don't know is what he did with them in the time period between the last time we had substantial proof of their existance (about a year before our invasion), and when we began searching. Hell, we even found the missiles and warheads he probably intended to launch them with, the warheads in question were even designed to hold chemical or biological agents.
The proof is probably buried out there under the sand, just like the multiple fighter jets we found and excavated whole.
