The BC xpac is not really adding anything either, their just moving the carrot out a bit for people, there's still no guild housing or guild bank. crafting still sucks.
A game doesn't need 7 milion subscribers to be a success, CCP doesn't care about having the same subs as WoW. Frankly I doubt any other MMO ever will, including whatever Blizz makes after WoW. With that many subscribers it's just far too difficult to provide decent support to everyone. CCP counts many devs amongst it's customers and is well respected in the developement community. Hell they get applications from devs from other MMO's all the time.
As for the poster who said Revelations should be listed in the nominees. The category is for NEW mmo's coming out, not expansions, so Revelations does not belong in that category.

Originally posted by mjsisson I'm disappointed that you haven't included EVE's new 'revelations' (codenamed 'kali') expansion in the 'Most Anticipated' section of the vote.
CCP have chose to bring in the expansion in 3-parts. The first while the vote is happening, the last well into the new year. Are they being punished by the choice of this policy?
A good category for next year might be best expansion/update, rather than calling them new games, as your "Most anticipated" seems to be.
And maybe best customer support, game patches, etc. That could be quite interesting as well.

only decent game in 2006 was Auto Assault imo, Eve is still probably the best all around mmo, DAoC has the best PvP/RvR, WoW has the best PvE even though it's just a mmo of Diablo 2, Eve has the best graphics, but then things are a bit easier for them in some ways, Age of Conan is easily the most anticipated game that will actually release in 2007.

look, i'm not gonna bother doing all that. you can do it if you wish. i just wanted everybody to see that when you and some others where crying that this site is a EVE fanboy nest, and that EVE Re-Review was unfair and that 8.4 was such an undeserved rating, and that MMORPG.com was the only site where EVE was rated so high, all of you were lying, patently and pathetically lying.
Actually, EVE is rated higher than on MMORPG.com almost everywhere, with an average rating of 9.0 already, or so says gamespot, that takes into account the most important internet publications.
so, 9.0 everywhere, but 8.3 here. I guess this site isn't as biased as you and many others want to make it look.
on the other hand, WoW still has almost 3000 more reviews than EVE on this site. but i bet you will say that all those are EVE fanbois pushing it down. but, at the same time, WoW forums on this site got 5 times as many posts and topics as EVE forums. you probably will say again that those topics are made by EVE fanboys spamming and trolling the WoW forums.
as we say in my country "No hay mas ciego que el que no quiere ver", or "nobody is more blind than he who doesnt want to see"

You fail to mention Gamespot's ratings for WoW/CoX/GW/EQ2. You have to take into account the rating curve. Obviously not all websites use the same rating system, even if it's based off of the standard 10-point ratings.
I also laugh every time an EVE fanboy makes account #8589393 with names like "jfhshfkg" to artificially boost the ratings of "their" game. Don't even pretend the player-made ratings are anything close to fair. WoW players may be stupid and immature about certain things, but even they know better than to start crap like this.
don't be too quick to start stereotyping gaming communities with "oh, people who play this game won't do this kind of thing" and "people who play that game are losers and you can see it in their actions". this is because, as far as it is, this statement has no evidence, nor a credible explanation to it.
furthermore, if 7.5 million player game gets beat by a 150k player game, so be it. don't whine and start pointing fingers. just because you have 7.5 million players it doesn't mean you have the right to every award you qualify for. in an analogy, it seems just a spoilt child crying and yelling for candy.

Hey moron, can I call you that? Ok good. As has been stated by MMORPG.com staff, those garbage name accounts have been created to get L2 trials. Also, if EVE players were creating these accounts to boost the rating of the game it would have 10's of thousands of ratings by now, yet it still has about 2000 less ratings than WoW.
But by all means, go ahead and continue to make yourself look like an idiot.
Graphics: EVE wins, no question. No matter how many times I see the game, the graphics always look amazing. WoW is also pretty good for graphics, but nowhere near good enough.
PvE: Anarchy Online. Ignoring the Heckler camps of Shadowlands, I've always enjoyed going out and hunting in AO above anything else. It's just so stupidly fun. It seems like there is a fair amount of support for EQ2 in this category, but I've never played it, so I'm certainly not voting for it.
PvP: Guild Wars. EVE is also quite good in this regard, but Guild Wars was designed for this purpose, and it shows. Whether you are just playing a premade character or playing one of the large assortment of specialized builds, it's a fun, enjoyable experience.
Story: Anarchy Online. Most people probably don't have a clue about the story behind this game, but it's there, and it's really, really neat. I enjoy trying to piece together all the different events, as well as the overall experience of the game that is full of flavor. Of course, it is very easy to ignore, but I'm still voting for it.
Most Anticipated: POTC Online. I honestly didn't know what to choose for this category, so I decided to go for the game that sounded like it could make the most interesting product. Pirates are awesome, and POTC Online might just be able to bring them into MMO spotlight. Hopefully it works out well.
2006 Game: Guild Wars Factions/Nightfall. Sure, they may be "expansion packs", but they are still better then the rest of the competition. If it weren't for this, I probably would have said Auto Assault, because despite it getting old really fast, it is still fun for that first bit.
Best Overall: Anarchy Online. I was either going to go for this or EVE, and in the end AO is just a tad better. No MMO has ever drawn me in quite as much as AO has. No matter how many times I restart, the game still is fun, with plenty of new places to explore, and lots of stuff to do. With the free "classic" account offer, you have absolutely no excuse not to at least try this game. It's completely worth it.
Favorite Graphics: Won last year by EVE Online, this category is open to all games currently on the market in commercial service.
I have to Go with eve on this one, it rox0rz my box0rz.
Favorite PvE: World of Warcraft was selected by our readers last year as their Favorite PvE Experience. Do they have what it takes to retain the crown? This category, again, is open to all games in commercial service.
Hard one, played WoW for a year while playing eve aswell. But wow was so boring in almost everyway that I have a hard time really even comparing EvE or Sro And Wow, have to go with SRO here I think.
Favorite PvP: EVE Online was your favorite PvP experience last year. Did a year change anything? This category is open to all games in commercial service.
EvE , easily, no competition.
Favorite Story: The Saga of Ryzom pulled off an upset victory last year. Now, with the Ryzom Ring can they retain their crown as the favorite world/role-playing/backstory of any released MMORPG on our list?
--- Wait, what? They have story? What the heck? :P
Most Anticipated: Open to all games that have yet to launch, last year's winner Dungeons and Dragons Online has hit the market. Who will take home the crown this year?
Don't know really.
Favorite New Game: This category is from a list of games that launched to commercial service in 2006 and is the only new category in this year's awards.
Not a clue.
Favorite Game: Finally, from among those games on the market, what is your favorite MMORPG? Last year, the voters said EVE.
These awards are pointless. They dont show anything except the fact that EVE fanbois have once again flooded the system. CCP told all the EVE fans to come vote and so they are. If Blizzard did the same thing I guarantee WoW would win by sheer numbers. These awards show nothing except how many EVE fanatics this site attracts.

Graphics - Still have to go with EQII. Was in the buissness for 5 yrs & Outer space graphics way to easy to make.
PVE - EQ2 (second choice COH)
PVP - Lineasge II: Not big on PVP but I enjoy L2's fast paced action. (Second choice WOW)
Story - Matrix Online: (Don't laugh most MMORG's don't have a storyline (2nd choice Guild Wars factions)
Most anticipated - Vanguard:
Fave new game of 06 - None
Fave Game - COH & EQII the only ones I keep going back to might add L2 to the fold though.Zarraa Voltayre
Ancient Legacy/Zero Sum/Silver Phoenix/Damage Inc.
EQI EQII DAOC AC2 COH COV GW WOW MoX EVE L2
Dutchess Zarraa Voltayre
Reborn/Zero Sum/Ancient Legacy/Jagged Legion/Feared/Nuke & Pave.
- Favorite Graphics: Won last year by EVE Online, this category is open to all games currently on the market in commercial service.
- I have to Go with eve on this one, it rox0rz my box0rz.
- Favorite PvE:
- Hard one, played WoW for a year while playing eve aswell. But wow was so boring in almost everyway that I have a hard time really even comparing EvE or Sro And Wow, have to go with SRO here I think.
- Favorite PvP:
- EvE , easily, no competition.
- Favorite Story:
--- Wait, what? They have story? What the heck? :PWorld of Warcraft was selected by our readers last year as their
Favorite PvE Experience. Do they have what it takes to retain the
crown? This category, again, is open to all games in commercial service.
EVE Online was your favorite PvP experience last year. Did a year
change anything? This category is open to all games in commercial
service.
The Saga of Ryzom pulled off an upset victory last year. Now, with the
Ryzom Ring can they retain their crown as the favorite
world/role-playing/backstory of any released MMORPG on our list?
Open to all games that have yet to launch, last year's winner Dungeons
and Dragons Online has hit the market. Who will take home the crown
this year?
This category is from a list of games that launched to commercial
service in 2006 and is the only new category in this year's awards.
