The problem with the notion that our country is blessed by God due to its origional Christian values is that those origional Christian values were also coming from people who were too scared to talk about slavery, because they themselves owned slaves. To put total unwaivering faith in something that I have never expirienced or seen with my own two eyes is something I just can not do. To simply accept something so grand based on information passed down from generation to generation that I know for fact is subject to interpritation and can easily be manipulated, and to be willing to kill or die for such a thing to me is..........insane.
I'd rather put my faith in something that can not be changed to fit the wants or needs of individuals, like math for example. Poeple can fight over who the real messia was or the right and wrong way to live their lives but 2+2=4 no matter how you look at it. I think our society is reaching a point where it is time to turn more to science and leave our outdated beliefs behind befor we destroy ourselves over it.
