I happened to notice as Vanguard starts to move down from top game how there are some suspect accounts. I know we've heard it all before but I had to voice it. An account named RPG_Ash gives the comment "Utter rubbish" as his comment on the Vanguard vote meter so I had to look into it. The guys account was started today February 9th, he has exactly 10 posts which all consist of between 2 and 10 words. In case you didnt know you have to make 10 posts so that you can vote in the ratings. I don't mind people voting badly for Vanguard because they don't like it. Hey, not every game is everyones cup of tea, but to make alternate accounts to falsely bring down Vanguards score now that is just so insane. RPG_Ash, whoever you are, you are a sad little monkey, and so is anyone else who would make alternate accounts just to vote either negatively or positively to change a games rating. Truly pathetic!
It is pathetic, however I think there are probably more "10s" than "1s" in this case. The game is good, but with the problems it has, it really did not belong on the top of the list. The lag/performance category alone should have lost it top rank.
I'll give you the performance issues. Although after I upgraded my vid card and power supply I've gotten awesome performance.
However, there is no way in hell that you can convince me that Guild Wars is better than Vanguard. It's just not... in any shape form or fashion. Guild Wars just can't hold my attention. It's a shallow, shallow game.
EVE online is boring. The combat sucks. Real time skill training is beyond stupid. 28 days to train a skill?!!! Gimme a break. Not to mention that every single region of space looks almost exactly the same. EVE sucks and I'm sick of all the EVE fanbois on this site acting like it's the end all be all MMO.
As far as EQ2 is concerned, I can't say as I just can't get into that game. I don't like the graphics and the way they implemented alot of things.
And yesterday, DAoC was ranked higher than Vanguard. That game is horriblely outdated and not very fun.
Contrary to some of my previous posts, I actually love EVE.
I wouldn't call it so much an MMORPG as an MMORTFS (Massively Multiplayer Online Realtime Financial Simulator).
But that's what I really dig about it - You work hard to carve out a piece and then you have to defend it.
Its more like being in Texas in the mid-1800s than it is being in space.
Despite the fact I think Vanguard is trash, I must agree with the OP. It takes a pretty pathetic person to do this. Same for the people who boost Eve onilne with the same method. Shows how pathetic the MMO community can be.

Dude, I always thought you were weird for your devotion to horrible games, i.e. DnL (and I'm not saying Vanguard is horrible) but your paranoia is down-right bizzare..
Take a vacation, man. Go out in the sun, talk to some girls, get some perspective on what is really important in life.
Well I don't know if it's because of that or if it's because the game get's hyped all the way to the top in the begining but after awhile after it wears off it will fall. We will prolly even see it fall from the main page within the next 2-3 weeks

I just noticed this guy's message on his Vanguard rating:
It goes both ways....I feel the scoring system should filter out drastic scores (ie all 1s or 10s) because no game is all 10s or all 1s. I would like to see a more accurate scoring system to base my judgment on MMORPG games.
It happens. The WoW fanbois are just so used to games handing them everything on a silver platter that they have to trash anything new or challenging.
You know, I am absolutely sick of hearing about and blaming everything on WOW and all those mythical WOW fanbois.
Try thinking of an original excuse at least. VG's problems were not caused by WOW. In fact, I would say that one of the major problems with VG is they listened far too much to the VG fanbois, and ended up with a game that nobody seems to like except the "EQ died with POK" crowd.
Which, unfortunately for Vanguard, is not going to be enough to keep the game alive.
