And, that's all I have to say on it
So are you saying if you think the game is a pile of crap you wont warn your friends not to waste their money?
And conversely if you think the game is the best thing since WOW you wont tell your friends they should try it?
Or are you saying you just wouldnt do it here on the forums.
Because I certainly tell my friends if I think a game is really good - or really bad. And they do the same for me - thats what friends do - save their friends from repeating mistakes, or pointing them to something great.
- and since you know them and their likes/dislikes their opinion is worth more than any review from someone you dont know. And that folks - is viral marketing. Good or bad and therefore why its important for a game to make a good first impression.

If the community said, Vanguard: great game, or greatest game ever?
Then, I might pick it up.
But if the community is going...
'LMAO! Vanguard is not dead.'
'Vanguard R t3h suk'
It makes me think.
Waste $50, or, don't?
When I think of Vanguard, I really don't see a big change from many other big name games.
I don't switch games to pay more money, and get the same gameplay, over and over again.
I know this is a lot to expect, but the gaming industry has been playing the same game over, and over again. When will there be a change?
When I played Vanguard, it wasn't all the awesome to see about 30 people in a town. If even that many.
I try to party up, but it ended up to being a do your own thing, until people need you for some God forsaken quest, dungeon, whatever. Maybe I was expecting too much.
So, I hope in the end, people waste their money, SOE gets rich, as if they already aren't, and the people in the end, the customers, are disappointed.
30-50k up to 300? thats a pretty HUGE jump for a game where all you hear is bad. Have you been in the noob zones lately? Empty.. I am subbed right now so yea i know whats up with my server dont know about yours
woefeather yep my server name is a typo
Hehehe...show me the spread sheet that says there is on 30to50k players right now. LMAO! Come on I dare ya!

I love reading the post from people that claim this game is dead. It isn't dead - not yet. It is actually improving. Yes. It is improving. This coming from someone that gave this game a 3 out of 10 in my review. LOL! My 6 month review will be due soon and I'll be once again telling it like it is to those of you who wish to read it. I was brutally honest in my first Vanguard review and I can promise you I'll be just as honest this go around. To those of you that keep BS'n on this forum about how bad Vanguard is and preaching gloom and doom can keep right on doing what you're doing. Anyone that comes on here and reads your BS post and believes it is a real shame. Despite Vanguards rocky last few months I can attest that it is improving and it has gotten better. As I have said time and time again, Vanguard was released 1 year(not 3 months and not 6 months) to early and slowly but surely it is getting better. In 6 to 7 more months this game is going to be one of the best there is. I remember people saying SWG was going to crash and burn when it first launched and I was there saying just the oposite and it did remain a good game until the NGE killed it. SWG turned into a great game pre-NGE. To bad SOE mucked it up! Well I am here to tell you that I predict that Vanguard will be here a year from now and it will be way, way better than it was at launch. Will it die? LMAO! No. In fact I am here to say that I think it will have 200k to 300k subscribers by June of next year. No those are not WoW's numbers but they are respectable and in 2 years time Vangaurd will no doubt be pushing 500k. Yes...500k! You heard it here first from one of Vanguards most harshest critics.
I'll put up 500 bucks saying VG will never hit 500k. I'll second that bet
Why do people think that MMORPGs that get older, lose subscribers. EvE online has been out for Years, and it keeps getting more popular these days. If anyone remembers it's release, it was a REALLY bad game. It's just gotten better and better. Now they are constantly getting new subscribers and breaking their pop records. The point is, as a game gets better and as it gets all fixed up, more people come. Vanguard will not go away for a while, as long as it can hold a decent 50K subscribers it can survive.
Sorry the majority of gamers are waiting on aoc, and warhammer online. Vanguard had its chance for 1st impression. It simply did not live up to our expectations.
yes that will kill vanguard alot.... sadly cous i really had high hopes for vanguard, now i just hate it
I'm guessing the people who are saying it is dead or generally being negative are people who were really dissapointed by their experience with Vanguard. This is understandable! I and a group of friends left Vanguard to watch another company for a bit, and some of them have also been really negative about Vanguard.
However, the fact is that the good thing about mmorpgs that you pay to play is that they continue to grow. Yes, Vanguard did change in the time I played, and I'm positive it will continue to do so. They really listened to the things people asked for on forums. The nestled group of roleplayers wanted relaxed posed npcs? They got them. PvPers wanted a server? They got it. There's countless other changes that I literally watched through the whole process of being mentioned in a forum, discussed, and then later seen implemented into the game.
Releasing a year early was bad, and that's deffinately what they did. Someone made a big mistake somewhere and that can not be denied, but Sigil is doing their damned hardest to play catch-up and they're doing a good job at it. They probably will not be getting my friends and I back (and we all have varying reasons, mine being carrier focused), but they will get a new crop of people once it's apparent that they have things fixed. Vanguard has specific mechanics that make it unique and challenging. I'm sure it will get a crowd through those things later and hear-say despite the new titles soon to be released.

So it looked like I was replying to you - but I wasnt.

Because I know I certainly was.
Some thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread.
Others didn't.
So, here it is. Just for you.
PLAY VANGUARD. IT IS AWESOME.
DON'T PLAY VANGUARD. IT SUCKS.
I see no reason why, that you have to defend a game.
If the game is good, it defends itself.
If it isn't too great, then it falls.
We all speculate what will happen.
But when it happens, we'll all know.
Some of us saying we were right...
And the others....

I am so good, I backstabbed your face!
I just hate when people kick themselves like that. Synhell, I do not think you're delusional.
But if you say so.
I disagree, you are not "done defending." I bet I will see you around. If I gambled, I would wager.
I disagree, my Friend.
I am not a basement dweller. Are you? I bet you "ain't."
Who is a basement dweller here?
I will bet $600 usd if it reaches 200k in subscription by end of 2007.
Sorry? Your $600 is a wager with whom? And for what?
