Also not a big fan of SOE. But im not gonna give up on it because of SOE's involvement. Ive been watching this game for a long while and am pretty excited about it coming out.
Yeah I'll give it a go, a historical pirate game is a breath of fresh air. I just got my beta invite so I'll probably have a good idea if I want to purchase beforehand. I've been watching the game for a long time so its likely I'd buy without the beta invite.
Anyone that knows me knows I was very skeptical of this title. So skeptical I put it on my 2006 Vaporware list. Proven wrong for the first time! DOH! , but to this, I will definitely give it a shot. I mentioned in another thread while I thought the ship combat is just amazing now, the avatar combat seems very paper/scissors, but from the word of the Dev's, it seems they are still working on that. Which is a good thing , looked a bit aged and well papery? is that a word? lol anyways, they turned this skeptic around I am willing to give it a go.

in case no one has mentioned this (though i'm sure someone has) SOE has ZERO involvement in the actual game. they're handling marketing, servers, and distribution. PotBS is still an independently owned and operated game.
