The monk will be the martial fighting class seeking the ultimate path of enlightenment, one of the skills we have allows the monk to practice his moves for a period of time which in turn gives an increase to his strength and hp. This effect will look much like you see in the movies as martial artist practice their individual moves in one choreographed session.
One of the major task is HOW SHOULD DEATH BE HANDLED in the game. What are some of your ideas of what would make a fair game. What happens when an NPC kills your character ? What happens when another player kills your character ? This is a very difficult subject and could make or break a game.

Originally posted by Deien where is the bard class at !!!!!!!!!!! sigh sounds like a good game but it lacks bards =P
The dreaded bard class, the class that infringes on the rogue, fighter, and druid class. This class is hard to do well without making it a worthless class or making it too powerful of a class. Most games have butchered this class, I think we might put some thought into this and see if we could incorporate some skills into the fighter class that would allow someone to make a bard while others who are not interested could not bother investing into the skill set.
Regarding magic classes, should we stick with a necromancer and mage class or is there a great demand for any other spellcasting class ? Our spells will be skill based so you can basically create any of the sub-classes of spellcasters already by selecting the appropriate spells that fit with ones play style. We are currently trying to merge the cleric spells into the paladin class to see what that looks like.
Well the deity class in an advancement path after hero class which I guess you could be Shiva or whatever deity suits your play style. Deities have skills that directly affect game play like creature creation, artifact creation, and others. Deities will have access to mystical mounts like dragons, gryphons, and knightmares.
I would like to see a gas or cloud race, they can not fly but can dissapate like sneaking, they would have low armor resistance but the agility to dodge and manouver over all terrain. they would be suseptable to magic from fire but would have extra powers in magig that is water or gas based.

I think you would like playing the vampire, thats as close as we will come to a race like your describing at the moment.
Originally posted by Wysper Classes thus far in the game: Ranger, Warrior, Mage, Necromancer, Paladin, Assassin, Vampire and Monk. These are the basic classes in the game thus far, is there any class that we might want to add that could be considered UNIQUE and not redundant in any way with the current classes ? Note: Rogues will be mixed with the Assassin class which might be renamed to something more suiting and cleric types will be mixed with the Paladin class to create something more interesting than your basic Paladin.
thats good, but i think you should fuse paladin and warrior together into a Knight class....they seem to be quite similar. If you have way different skills for them, then keep them sperate. But other than that, those are great. I mean, i can't think of one class that could be added for that age.
Originally posted by abaja i wouldn't have dwarves and elves, i hate MMMORPGs with those races. I think having different aspects for the same race [humans] would be much better. Also, if you want beta testers, im free. I like to beta test, if its free.
We choose dwarves and elves because of the roleplaying opportunities and the large content already associated with those races. Dwarves do not like elves and vice versa, we have many races because there are all supporting kingdoms for each race. Some of the best roleplaying I have seen in this genre is with players roleplaying dwarves and elves, it would not be a medival fantasy game without those two classic races. Our system has already many unique skills for each race, they should not be the typical elves and dwarves that every game has copied. We only created races that would have at least 10 unique skills of their own to make them interesting.

We have actually merged the cleric into the Paladin class for the moment. The warrior and paladin have many unique skills, the paladin we thought was a necessity since they will represent the vast amount of good players in the game. This game will have a very nice PvP aspect and we hope that the paladin class will keep some justice in the game.
One of the paladin's skills is the ability to form a crusade which is a group of good aligned players that get a bonus for grouping together to fight an evil in the world. These are some of the means to which we are encouraging roleplaying.
I'd definatly like to see darker races like Vampires and Werewolves. Vampires were actually going to be in Horizons, but of course they had to cut that crap out. A PvP like this would most likely keep the other light dwelling races to be wary at night, and put fear into them. I also think MMO's should get real time weather and day-night phases. Literally have 24 hrs and have the basic phases of days. I'd also love to see huge Giants playble.

Giants might be a tough stretch just because their skills conflict with some of the other classes mainly being brute strength. Vampires will exceed everyone's expectations as right now the skills are unique to anything we have seen thus far, you should expect to feel totally immersed into this class. We are going to have day and light phases but the night phases will not last as long as the day phases, dark screens do not bode well to most players for long periods of time so it will be more like a shadow effect currently.
Would you like to see the the whole spetrum of alignments or would just a good, nuetral, and evil suffice ? We ask because currently creatures are going to be motivated with alignment factors, for example a creature who is Chaotic Evil might hunt you for your items and gold while a Lawful Evil creature might hunt you because they consider you a threat to their power. Lawful Good creatures might bestow benefits to same aligned players while Nuetral creatures will stay passive and wait until you react.
I think you should include the bard class, and give them skills similar to the entertainer in SWG.
Healing mental fatigue etc by dancing/playing music and telling tales in the tavern or camps.
Also they will have the ability to influence people in combat by uplifting morale, meaning they have lots of buff type powers but not much else.
I have never seen the bard as a fighter/mage/thief. But more of an entertainer.
I think that NPC's should have alignments, so that when you are dealing with them you know how to act, for example dont act like a threat to a lawful evil person or they may attack you.
But with players it doesnt really matter because unless you are going to force people to act in character. For example if a neutral/neutral becomes too good or bad they should get negative effects on stats etc.
Or if a lawful person breaks the law they will have negative effects.
And as for paladins upholding the law they should be able to recruit the town guard if necessary, because all the hardened PvPers and griefers tend to become evil characters and powerlevel up so they can make peoples lives a misery without fear from other players. The paladins alone are not going to be able to police them unless all the good powerlevellers are attracted to that class, which they may not be.
WHEN IN DOUBT RIGHT CLICK.. Dawg thats the funniest thing i've read.. LMAO...
Oh and I say Add dragons to the playable characters BUT only as like a reward for like lvling to the highest as another character THEN you get like either another character slot with dragons enabled OR maybe as a characteristic of your already maxed char. That would be cool.. Custimizing the dragon could include length, weight, height, size of snout, amount of wings, legs? or no legs? color of breath.. horns... on head or else where on body.. now that would be tyte!!
What's your Wu Name? Donovan --> Wu Name = Violent Knight Methane47 --> Wu Name = Thunderous Leader "Some people call me the walking plank, 'cuz any where you go... Death is right behind you.." <i>ME<i>

i dont like the idea of having to get high level before getting a dragon character. You wouldnt want to turn into another SWG jedi hunt-a-thon. That would suck.

Thanks for the feedback:
Dancing, singing, fishing, gambling, musical instruments and others are already skills that most races will have access to since we believe that everyone should have a chance to entertain if they invest in the skill.
Where paladins are concerned believe me they will hold their own with the evil classes and races out there. The PvP will favor good aligned characters because those said characters are usually the ones who help others which is necessary for a great game. Our ranking system allows us to customize the PvP environment where it is needed.

Right now we are just calling it Kings and Kingdoms, things could change as the game developes more to fit a specific storyline. There is not a website yet because that gets a little political until publishers and such are choosen.

We keep considering a remort system but it has not hit the priority list yet, I will tell you though that the deity class has the ability to open another character slot as an avatar. If we get to the remort ideas then I'll be sure to post something to that effect but right now I can't even speculate.
This is gonna be the most important(but little thing). I dont know if you are in a stage were you can edit phsyics or anything like that, but if your gonna have rangers and assasins (hopfully rvr) not only give them the ability to hide and sneak(make sure their sneak isnt crap like just walking animation), but also maybe the ability to climb trees, and buildings. This will emerse the crap out this class. No spells for these guys, but the use of poisons for assasins. For rangers, they could have maybe some kind of fabric they wrap on the arrow and a lighter type thing so they can shoot flaming arrows. 1 just 1 of the one little things i would really really really reallyx100 love to see is the quiver with arrows on your BACK. AHH i would love that, and if you could have the bow back there too. Thanks
