Just wondering if this is true? Cause all this game censorship is really stupid i mean in the UK we have 18 rated games all the time :S

Keep in mind that in America boobs are still taboo. I live here and it sickens me how much censorship we have to deal with. I cant even purchase a Playboy at sam goody without getting wierd looks from people
well, if this will give Funcom more income by getting a larger player base, of course they will abide and censor it (meaning more $$$$$)
They have announced earlier, that there will be localized version, to enable them to adhere to local laws.....
Heh. It's amazing that a game can have all the blood and gore it wants, but simply showing a pair of breasts on a few creatures warrants censorships. How did the 'morality' of the media ever become so twisted anyway? Ah well... just another case of violence = good, sex = bad. It sure won't change whether I play the game or not.
That is just sick? How can boobs be a bad thing??? I have to bragg about Sweden then.....here women fight for their right to swim topless.....everywhere. They say: if men can swim topless, women can to. They dont want to cover up id the men dont do it : )

lol no kidding. If they do censor the game for US i will be very dissapointed. And yes, I find it beyond the point of asinine that GTA does not get censored for all the violance, blood, guns and hookers but showing animated bobblers puts all the soccer moms and dads panites in a ruffle.
Americans have a very twisted sense of morality (I'm an American). It might be the only country in the world where you can see blood and gore on prime time television but GOD FORBID if anyone shows a little tit because it might corrupt the children. Sex, the most natural and pleasant thing on the planet, is forbidden fruit, but blowing people away on national televison is just fine.
Don't forget that the FCC has also tried to sue South Park for the episode with the "largest crap," becuase they showed doody...

Well as of yet nothing hsa been censored. They're waiting on a rating from the esrb and I'm hoping and praying this game clears them. Cause censorship sux

I think you guys are misunderstanding something.
There is no ominous government body in the US that goes around censoring video games. There is excactly that however, in Germany where the game will be censored to meet thier laws accordingly. The US however, has no such laws against anything in AoC.
Why would AoC possibly be a non-nude version in the US then? Thats simply becuase Funcom wants to market this game with an M for mature rating. When this game is reviewed to give an ESRB rating (which will be done by Funcom itself btw). They want to keep the game at an M rating becuase many retail stores will not sell the AO rated games. They simply will tone it down if need be to increase the sales outlets for customers.
And by the way, nothing has been said to be for certain. No ratings have been branded and everything is still speculation. However, if the US gets a boob free server setting, I will still buy and play the game. It does not need boobs for me to enjoy it.

Being in such close proximity with the US I'm afraid I'm gonna get stuck with the censored version which if you ask me takes away from the ideas I have of how it should be.

Even if they do censor AOC, there will more than likely be a patch that you can download that will enable boob, like in other games, such as the nude patch in sims online.
I have a Conan game for xbox360 and it has naked boobs. So if they can do it, Age of Conan can do it.

Honestly you'd think after how long our country has been around and with the changing winds of time that we as a Society in America would have grown up and learned that some boobs aren't corruptive or a sin. We were born naked for pete's sake and its not a crime for a mother to whip out her breast in public to breast feed so what the hell? There's just to much hypocracy regardless of puritan backgrounds. Most average american's don't really damn care but to many people in charge or with really loud voices illogical sense tend to ruin it for everyone else.
Funcom should atleast offer people the right to download an uncensored version of the game if they don't want to buy the most likely going to be forced censor'd game. The biggest reason for the censorship is they know if it becomes an Adult Only title stores won't carry it, because stores dont' want to be responsible for some kid getting a hold of the game because their mother doesnt' pay attention to the labels.
Parents that push the blame on games, music, movies, books, and television need to take a parenting class and learn to start displicining their children or atleast pay attention to what their kids are getting involved in!!

As long as it's a quality game, I'm playing, boobs or no boobs. Frankly, I prefer no boobs so I don't have to play with a mob of immature, testosterone packed, voyeuristic, keyboard humping adolescents flooding the chat channels with one bad sexual innuendo after another.

No reason to panic just yet. They are not going to censor anything more than what the ERSB demands to get a M rating. AO just won't work here in the US market, so they can't risk getting that stuck on them.

Wow, i love Holland! They tolerate alot here and i like it ^^, but it's kinda bullshit if they make it 18+ because there is nudity in it, wtf?
Sex isnt "forbidden fruit" however showing sex in national television infront of millions of people, including children I wouldnt say is a bit natural.
The fact remains that female breasts give a sexual signal to most men, it is a sexual organ just as the genitalia. So giving sexual signals to children and underage people might be considered wrong. Its called ethics.
