  • The way things are going with AOC it's going to end up like WoW except you can push a few more buttons.

NCsoft makes AION. NCsoft has a history of craptacular maintenance and of underachieving. I am also amazingly biased against NCsoft and boycott their games.

    So no AION for me.

P.S. I'm well aware of how useless my post is, but hey, what are forums for.

I will judge for myself which one will be better.  So far it looks like AOC.

I find it quite ironic that someone as narrow minded as yourself is complaining about fanboys.

Saying every asian mmorpg is the same is much like saying every western mmorpg is like Everquest.

It will be the next MMO that dominates the WORLLLLLD!"  Every asian MMO looks like the same artist does the drawings.   Wouldn't put it past me they utilize item malls or some junk.  So I will wait for AOC.  I will never touch another asian tital again.

Agreed.  There hasn't been an original, creative, hell, just slightly DIFFERENT MMORPG to come out of Korea since...well, since....NEVER!  They're all exact copies of one another, with different titles on the boxes.

Actually there have been plenty of games that are completely different. Just because you're not willing to actually do any kind of research on those titles and base your opinion on a pathetic stereotype doesn't mean that it's actually true.

    Oh...whats this...can it be!?!?!

Aion is "STILL" winning....clearly people know a good well developed game when they see it......clearly...

Both games are realistic on graphic, AoC is more realistic on the animation and the physics, Aion on the other hand is not but Aion has very cool skill animation. I like cool skill animation, Aion has very identical animation as to Cabal Online. So I vote for Aion. For me I just don't like the cape in AoC, looks like Rappelz and GW. I love the sky fight in Aion.  ^_^

How many times do I have to sign this?

    To the OP:

Without reading much of what was said, the release dates will be separated by months. AoC will be released first and Aion will follow at some point (hopefully) later this year.

If you don't mind waiting without an MMO and you don't like the AoC concept, then you can wait a couple months for Aion to launch. If not, you can always trial AoC for at least the box-offered-month and decide for yourself whether you like it or not.

At the current moment. I am forced to say that AION is ahead of anyone else. In it’s early alpha stage, Aion already played like a ready for release title. Now the game can go to hell from there or it can become even better. From what I can see, it’s not trying to re-invent the wheel, it’s simply making it better. The gameplay appears to be similar to WOW and that kinda sucks but I didn’t hated how WOW played. I simply didn’t like the simplicity of the entire game.

AOC looks great but I don’t know. It doesn’t seem that appealing to me. The PVP system while not yet official appears to be made for the powerhouse guilds and will never allow a small underdog to have a chance at it. Instanced played owned cities… That is a huge turn off for me but I’ll have to see it to actually say it sucks.. it might actually really rock. AOC seems to have blood, guts and boobs but it doesn’t seem to offer anything more in my opinion. If I want blood, I’ll play an FPS or an online co-op survival game, if I want boobs, I’ll flirt at a club and use the skill: “Social”

I’ll still give a spin to AOC. Who knows, it might really rock.

how about trying the trial for both games and see which one you like?

From what I know I'm most interested in Aion.

However, AoC looks like it's worth a look so I can play it for a few months to see if it grabs me.

I hope they're both good games. It's not important to me which one wins. I hope they both get enough subscribers to keep their fans entertained.

What this genre really needs is a good number of different MMOs doing well.

finaly we grow some brains ... ...

hehe .. srry no pun intended .. but indeed .. why not try them both ...

i think the reason for discussing the "witch one will be better?!?!" realy only comes from the fact we want a UBER!! MMO-RPG game to play .. and we all know how much time is spent on building a IMBA character ...

soooooo ... we want to buy the best one .. not to lose time building up a char ... and ofc ... the one wich will be the most played across the globe .. wich in turn means more ppl to make commerce, groups, guilds, etc etc ... by my opinion it's no fun playing empty servers ... could be just me ofcourse

sadly there is no way of knowing before hand wich will be the "better" game ...

is there even realy a better one ??

i don't know what everyone looks at to base  the games they play on .. but for me its gotta be the whole package ...

u either like it .. or not ...

only way ur gonna trully find out if a game works for u .. is buy n try ... or wait until they both on the shelves for a couple of months .. n read the reviews ... or hope some friends buy either .. n base ur judgement (like i've done many times)  by peering over their shoulders as they pwn some stuff on screen ...

i think its realy pointless to start bikkering over games that have not yet .. or only just been released ..  any mmo-rpg that goes online mostly has several months of bugfixing n patching involved .. so how can u base a judgement on something still unknown .. either games can rock at first sight .. but play them a while and u can still get turned off ...

anyways .. don't get caught up in fighting over wich is best ....  we all know that no mmo-rpg is truely gonna work for us .. until we can have a VGA port surgically inplanted in our brains that takes us there in full flesh so to speak ... (i'll be first in line)

try both ... be ur own critic ...

i'm playing AoC now and i can't say anything bad about it realy ... couple of bugss still need fixing .. but hey ..  endure the first few month's .. (besides anything is better then ninja-jumping shit in WoW cause u aint got anything better to do)

i will also buy Aion ... skyfighting does have its alure in a way

then after i've played both ... i'll come back here n THEN .. i'll give my opinion on wich is better

    Peace all ..

Wow , I just readed all those 12 pages of comments from different players.

Now that AoC is up my questions is , for those you said/voted for AoC : Do you still play AoC ? :)

Well now it only left Aion & War .

I am going for Aion and waiting for news when CBT 3 begins in Korea.

Reporter: What's behind Blizzard success, and how do you make your gamers happy?
Blizzard Boss: Making gamers happy is not my concern, making money.. yes!

Im supprised Aion is so high on the list.. for the masses seeming to really hate asian grinders... but this game is 2nd on the list lol. strange paradox:P

ah well, id give it a try anyways just to see if it is really another asian grinder like people say. never really know till ya try something yourself. dont really care about the whole flying thing tho.. if thats its only selling point i think it wont do so well. also asian games tend to have 1000 times more gold farmers/spammers.. that a big turnoff.. but who knows? iv never played it so i could be 100% wrong an it might kick ass. as i said.. id give it a go.

You are, unfortunately, one of the many who have mistaken Aion for this "Asian Grinder" you speak of.

Please see my recent write-up about Aion to answer any questions or false assumptions you may have.
