I am just posting this to see how many players "won't" be playing Warhammer? I want any reason. I can tell you one of the reasons I'm not playing Warhammer is it's just another class base pvp system. I love my PVP, but I hate rock paper scissors version of pvp. So this is my reason, but to anyone not going to play Warhammer online I want to know yours.

I might be playing something else, although I think it's highly unlikely I'll not at least give it a try. If that try is in beta however, depending on whether it fits my tastes, i might not get retail of course, but that applies to everyone i assume.
I will not be playing Warhammer because I'm not interested in another World of Warcraft. No, Warhammer wasn't first, only the IP was - I know, I played the table-top and RPG before MMORPGs existed. But Warhammer, the MMORPG, offers exactly the same things as WoW, levels, classes, zones, raiding, consensual PvP, turn-based combat, with just a bit more battlegrounds they call "RvR". I'd rather keep playing EVE Online till I get another good MMO that isn't a EQ/WoW clone.
With a server focused on PvE-grouping (not more content, just all loot), I would play it.
Yet, since it doesn't seems like it will happen...
It is not about the % of the content or whatever, it is about been FREE to choose how I play the game, from start, until the end. Since my focus in MMOs is on character developpment...missing the upper tier of the rewards is just telling me to not even bother trying the game. I play Medieval Total War games a LOT more than most RTS fans...and I never even did 1 RTS battle ever. Yet, I love the game, because I am FREE to play it, the way I see fit, I have access to all troops, all buildings, all revenues, all diplomacy, all ships...even if I don't RTS. In WAR somehow, if I don't RvR, I don't have access to the upper tier of tools, this is like playing a wargame without the right to build the best units ever.

I will invest some type checking what is the overpowered class, and I will roll that one.
Once that class is nerfed, I will unsubscribed.
j/k.
I don't know if I'll be playing or not...the thought of running around as a Chaos Chosen is very appealing to me, however I just don't see anything in the videos that is terribly appealing to me. The combat looks bland and it basically looks like an updated version of WoW. Age of Conan seems to have a lot more to offer as far as new stuff is concerned.
Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced.
I had no intention of playing war but after seeing Conan first hand on a friends comp I can say that I certainly considering war at this point.
i wont be playing war if darkfall is out... if it isnt.. i will probably be playing it
and if AoC really does suck on release.. ill be buying a couple hundred shares of EA before War comes out
Remember Old School Ultima Online
Right now, the only major factor taking me away from WAR is time. The release holdback is a huge blow to me
Torrential
Torrential: DAOC (Pendragon)
Awned: World of Warcraft (Lothar)
Torren: Warhammer Online (Praag)
I wont be buying war is it becomes a battle ground type grind fest ala wow
hearing about all the capture the flag "scenarios" makes think everyone is going to
be shoved away in some instance and not outside doing world rvr which is what
im most looking forward to.
Not my type of game. The races are the same overused Evles, dwarves, dorks, etc; but with some variation. I am not into p2p games. This game is just not my type of game.
1. Already played WOW, don't need to pay for a clone copy RVR version.
2. There are simply going to be better games than WAR coming soon. Guild Wars 2, Aion, Stargate Worlds, Bioware MMO. I would even consider playing a great rpg/rts such as StarCraft 2 or Bioware's Dragon Age due out before next April.
3. AOC is an option but i'll wait until it gets released to see how good it actually runs.
That's where I will be hiding in hope for better times in the MMO industry

"
And I don't want to hear anything about "I don't believe in vampires" because *I* don't believe in vampires, but I believe in my own two eyes, and what *I* saw is ******* vampires! "
--I'm sick of these "midge" races (aka Dwarves) in games that look like a bunch of children running around with beards. Same with the stupid green orcs races and elfs that are nothing more then a human with pointy ears and a metrosexual look (including matching purple skin)
--Low graphical quality. I know the developers are aiming for a more "open, wide scale audiance", but having graphics that can be used with 4-6 year old CPU's and 3-5 year old GPU's, that's just rediculous. There needs to be an upgrade at somepoint.
--Too much grouping content. Even on the large scale too. I mean, the progressional advancement of your group (aka faction), is based on EVERYONE in that faction, even the people that are general dicks, people that you hate, and/or people that purposely screw up.
--Delayed againm, (26MAR08) Until fall, possibly winter.
--And the #1 reason I'm not going to be playing Warhammer Online, is because I'll be playing Age of Conan, which has everything I want, and nothing from that list I don't want. It's got higher graphics and better looking engines. There's no "over-the-top" races, as only humans from three different culturally races can be played (Stygians, Cimmerians, Aquilonians are all human). And, the grouping and such is optional, and the guilds and races are free-for-all; another words, no factions. If I'm in a guild and some guy is a dick/prick and we kick him out, there's no worring about him being the same race or anything of that sort, we can still constantly kill him...what fun.
Isn't it a bit early to be saying why you won't be playing it, especially since the opportunity to play it at all is now even further away?
Seriously though, if it really "Isn't your Cup of Tea" then fine, but most MMOs are relatively cheap & the first month is free so if there is any chance you might like it, why not give it a try?
I don't know if I will like it either, but it interests me enough that I think I will get my money's worth just from the novelty of trying something new.
Maybe its one of those "Glass Half Full" or "Glass Half Empty" things.
If you can't "Have your cake & eat it too", then how can "The proof of the pudding be in the eating"?
Take the Hecatomb? TCG What Is Your Doom? quiz.
I won't be playing WAR because it's delayed
However, I will be playing it when it finally releases!
Well, at least I've got precisely enough time to enjoy AoC before its broken endgame gets too annoying...
I won't be playing WAR because there isn't enough Warhammer in it. To much like the miniatures game and not enough like the RPG or the novels.
""But Coyote, you could learn! You only prefer keyboard and mouse because that's all you've ever known!" You might say right before you hug a rainforest and walk in sandals to your drum circle where you're trying to raise group consciousness of ladybugs or whatever it is you dirty goddamn hippies do when you're not busy smoking pot and smelling bad."

It really doesn't matter why it won't interest some people.. its like that with any game.
Other than fanbois and trolls.. then logic won't matter.
World RvR = More xp and Renown so i highly doubt that people will spend more time in scenarios.

I wont be playing for 2 reasons
1. As many have said.. WAR is a wanna'be WoW clone with some RvR tacked on.
2. I expect Starcraft 2 to be released around the Fall of 2008 so I wont be playing any MMO for a long while after its release.

Obviously you have not done your research if you think it is WoW with rvr "tacked on". Nothing wrong with the #2 answer if you prefer that over WAR no qualms here.
No cry for attension here. I was just wondering what are players veiws are considering it's the same old gift just wrapped diffrent is all. You may like the way it looks and feels, but in time you will realize it was just the same old class base crud 99% of these next gen mmos are releasing. Waiting for DF personally, and if it never comes I refuse to buy another class base fantasy mmo untill I see a game that has custom built charcters "NOT what class to pick from"!

Looks like you will be waiting for QUITE some time.

Is it? The only mention i saw was that they sort of equalized it?

I hate these threads they never attract anyone thats actually paid any attention to the game or even looked into it. Like the OP here..claiming its just the same ol gift in different wrapping. Please tell me what MMO has living dynamic cities? What game has cities that level up? Just because its class based doesn't make it same ol same ol. Its just a more appealing game style to players who don't want to spend their entire lives grinding X Mob so they can get X points in X skill.
Please Refer to Doom Cat with all conspiracies & evil corporation complaints. He'll give you the simple explination of..WE"RE ALL DOOMED!
