We'll be extinct or living in caves in a few hundred years. You can't honestly tell me someone isn't gonna get trigger happy and set of a nuke. It even seems hard to come by good/trusting/loyal friends these days... I like to think to myself if I had absolute power... I'd have a blast destroying everything.

I'm not concerned about nukes ( wouldn't even know it's coming). No issues for meh, I'm just gonna sit back and watch the world rot.
I used to think this way and maybe sometimes it comes creeping back. But then you get some good things going on in your life, in your own little microcosm, and you just don't want it to end anymore even though you can still see the world around you falling down. It's how you go from scoffing at the TV news scare stories to actually being scared by them like every schmuck.

your focusing on things you cant change, or the things you wont bother to try and change. If you actually feel like speaking for these people who die of hunger and etc, then why dont you go out and donate money and help them? If you dont, then why bother thinking about it, yeah it sucks, people die in africa and 3rd world countrys. Well stop the War on Drugs and get the money to fund feeding of people of poverty. We can't save everybody right now to be honest anyways. Theres not enough room on the planet if people dont die and die in large numbers. Sounds mean, and im prolly next after saying it but its the honest truth. Why i say until we can live on Mars, the moon, or where it be on other planets we will have a problem in the future unless WW3 happens then population will drop dramatically.

yeah, but i mean there is some truth to it. The world is at its peak in population, we havent had a war that has consumed over 1million lives since WW2 and our medicines are getting better every year, making it where less and less people die because of illnesses.

I remember back in 1999, folks kept asking me if I was stockpiling food. I always answered, "No, I'm stockpiling ammo and making a list of people who are stockpiling food"
As if a nuclear war would destroy the world. It mite set it back a few thousand years but for the most part wed keep trudging on. Youd be amazed what lifeforms can survive. Like the old saying goes, life finds a way and as far as I can tell, Im alive. So to speak on a metaphysical level I may not be. I prefer not to worry about the metaphysical. I prefer to eat cake. THe cake is real!

I'm kind of hoping that somehow our technology starts to move forward in giant leaps and bounds to the point where we have ourselves the space age.
At that point I'd go and get myself a small ship of some kind, point it in a direction and floor it. Who knows what I might find out there that's interesting and fresh. That way I can leave this place behind for a while and not have to think about it.
