Actually, it's people like you who'll go mad and end up attacking an organized group of survivors and end up being killed yourself. You detest humanity and their herding mentality but that's pretty much the reason we are the dominant species on this planet. Our minds evolved to form a more social and ordered society, we worked together and accompished many things.

That being said, while I don't agree with the way you are, I can relate. Apathy towards the misery of people I don't know and never met...even those related to me, I'm consumed with it. I don't use it as an excuse to hate others though. I feel nothing for them period but it's more of a character flaw brought about by my up bringing. But thats my problem and I'm working through it. I'm married now, have my first child on the way.

Maybe your upbringing was perfect or maybe it was utterly miserable  like mine. The difference between you and I though, I'm strong enough to work through the bad and not let what others did to me, effect my life. You're weak. That's why if/when this word does goto hell and it does come down to survival of the fittest, you'll be one of the first to go.

Instead, the predator uses a bit of intelligence, and employs a weapon.
Something that most people don't even bother owning anymore.
See, logically, a group of 30 people could take down one man with a gun. But some of them would die or get injured in the process....they realise this, so NO ONE does anything for fear of being the one who gets hurt. They all hide, and whimper, and hope that they are not the cow that is chosen for slaughter.

No, I was never in the army...I would never subjugate myself to another's authority like that.

That's why I said before all things are situational. In the mall situation the intelligent thing to do when someone ambushes you like this, it's to seek cover. Actually in all situations where you don't have the first strike the intelligent thing is to seek cover. How many of these individuals that open fire in malls, are alive?

And the mall is considered a "safe" area, so people are relaxed that's why it's a different situation.

The predator is not intelligent because it uses a weapon. It's intelligent because it analyzes a situation and adapts. Survival means to stay alive, first and foremost. A predator that can get food without a fight is the smart one.  The one that seeks fights to become "stronger" is usually the food for the others.

You forget a thing in your logic. In the example above with the mall the people know that if they hide and raise the alarm, people that deal with such "individuals" come and take care of things. With the absence though of the above authorities people always tend to gather and protect themselves. Such things happen in the absence of official goverment. An example is in China when women in villages far away from the protection of the army had to train themselves in martial arts to avoid rape. You'd be surprised how fast people adapt when the shit hits the fan. Granted there are casualties that could be avoided if they did that thing earlier but we can't have it all.

I mentioned the army because the "predator" training is taught in many of the units.

Actually, you're agreeing with me, although you may not realise it.

A predator of course isn't intelligent because it uses a weapon....duh. But it uses a weapon because it's intelligent.

And fighting to become strong is called training. Those who train have a distinct advantage over those who do not.

Now, on to the mall scenario. I actually didn't forget....I wanted to see if you would bring these points up.

The herd hides and wails in fear while the ones who have been trained to deal with these types of situations come to take care of the problem. People who realise the value of learning the art of violence.

Such as the Chinese women you make a perfect example of. They trained themselves to fight, out of necessity. And their hatred of their enemies gave them motivation and the strength to overcome.

These are examples of the traits that humanity should embody. This is MY POINT.

Instead of focusing on what celebrity fucked who, or what the latest fashions are, or weather what they say might offend someone, or how gold their tan is, or weather they have the biggest SUV on their street, or overall being pathetic.

And via their pathetic behavior, making life nigh unbearable for the rest of us.

I remember back in 1999, folks kept asking me if I was stockpiling food. I always answered, "No, I'm stockpiling ammo and making a list of people who are stockpiling food"

Without conflict, we stagnate, and weaken as a species.

Look at it all around us.

And, what you seem to be saying is although you were treated like shit, you didn't let it bother you. You took it like a good sheep. You didn't get mad and do something about it, you put your tail between your legs, and pretended it didn't happen.

You tell yourself that you are  "strong enough to work through what others did to you", but you are simply denying your own cowardice.

I, on the other hand, was strong enough to not let them do anything to me. I stand and fight.

I never denied that we don't need to struggle, that we don't need conflict. I agree with you on that. What I don't agree with is how you've let, whatever it was that happened to you, effect your outlook on the in such a negative way. You assume that because I've made a successful life for myself, that because I've started a family, I'm a sheep. I really don't see the logic in that. You claim I'm a coward. For what? Because you think that I, as an adult, let things happen to me? The details are really no ones business but the end results. I'm not on here bashing the entire human race because you had to goto court and point out on a doll where your daddy touched you.

Um, nothing "happened" to me to make me this way. I simply am. And kindly keep your pedophile fantasies to yourself.

What do I fight against? Anyone who tries to harm me.

Which brings me to my next point...I never called you a sheep for having a family. But I ask you this...if someone tries to harm your family, will you stand and fight? Do you even know how? Or are you too concearned with watering your lawn to bother to be strong enough to protect that which you love?

The people I hate, and am disgusted by, are the ones who are so pathetic and helpless that they do nothing but beg for mercy when they are being robbed, raped, beaten, or threatened.

Which unfortunately is the vast majority of the "civilised" world.

    And it keeps getting worse.

Look at the brave men who fought in WWII. Strong, determined, willing to do whatever was necessary. Do you really think there is anyone left like that in this country?

These were men who worked hard in life, on farms, factories, and quarries. They had rock fights when they were kids, and fencing matches with sticks.

At my son's school, they aren't even allowed to PICK UP SNOW, much less have a good old-fashioned snow-ball fight.

Do you see where we are headed?? To a place where people can't even have a goddamn snowball fight for fear of getting hurt.

    Weak. Pathetic. Worthy of NOTHING.

I have tyre slashers built into my lawn. You can't see them for the flowers.

All my family have flowers in every room they sleep. And guns.

The important part, is the flowers. It's the part which makes us human.

We can all do monster. It's a snorefest.

Depends what time of year it is.

Different things grow at different times in different soils. The trick is to get some colour at all times.

Poppies come at end of summer. Septemberish.

    Pansies the month before..

meh....all my plants died when I moved to this place last month anyway. Went from spring water to chlorinated water (damn humans and their chem-water) and they all just shiriveled up and croaked before I realised what the culprit was.

And Jimmy, read the damn thread before you make an idiot of yourself posting something that's irrelevant to the conversation.

I remember back in 1999, folks kept asking me if I was stockpiling food. I always answered, "No, I'm stockpiling ammo and making a list of people who are stockpiling food"

    LoL,

You are more then likely going to have some issues getting through life thinking like that.

IMHO, I would worry less about the Nukes and more on the finding good friends and learning a bit more about yourself and why you are lashing out randomly at nothing.

I'm not concerned about nukes ( wouldn't even know it's coming). No issues for meh, I'm just gonna sit back and watch the world rot.

I myself am going to enjoy whatever time I have.

Burn it all down if you like, I'll just make my bit as nice as I can.

If I end up living in a cave it will be a very nice cave, with very nice people.

The world is what you make it. Let your bit rot if wish. Mine will be blossoming.

    Not really.

Go take a sociology class, it is 100% of what you make of it.  If you deside not to follow any sort of culture your life will follow your "own" culture.  Which was learned from your previous culture.

If your bord, guess what you can do something about it.  If your sad, you can also do something about it.

If you have a broken bone, guess what you can do something about it to get it healed.  You can do anything you want in life.  Even kill and rape, law is not a limiting factor on what you do in your life.  You choose how to live, and you choose what to enjoy.

This thread reeks of faux emo and angst. Guess what? A lot of people detest humanity, and don't even get started on people who are REALLY suffering... 99 times out of 100, people who hate humanity do so because of angst and boredom.
