yeah, but i mean there is some truth to it. The world is at its peak in population, we havent had a war that has consumed over 1million lives since WW2 and our medicines are getting better every year, making it where less and less people die because of illnesses.
Just A historical correction for you here.
Rwanada, 5 million dead.
They don't count. African and Asian dead (Kymer Rouge) never do. They're not really people.

So apart from the fact that at least 2 people here show symptoms of anti social behaviour and/or inability to vent, and the fact that they need proffessional treatment, what was the point to begin with? At least we know that we may have 2 clockwork snipers or something:P Seriously to both jaded sirs/ladies/other, chill a bit, and if you don't like the world either go out and change it or go blow your brains out, whichever is more convinient. Hell since we all are going to die in the end why don't you be good sports and show people how to do it.
me anti social? hahaha no. though sounds like you've been down that route .
It's called "education". You might want to try it at some point. It really will bring you a new perspective on things. Like for example finding something better than that retort. And it doesn't "sound" btw, since you read it. Unless the voices in your head help you with that:)
OOOHHH! The education comeback... You should really learn how to spell professional (professional does not have 2 F's DURRR!) before you start acting like a tool. BTW having that stupid final fantasy sig proves that you're antisocial.
Oh I am sorry, did your spellchecker help you?:) It's good to know that you use your pc for good since you lack skills for anything else:) Oh yeah totally a tool friend, if it makes you feel better ok then yeah I am a tool:) It's not like you have any friends to point out that you have a problem, or maybe that's the reason in the first place?
Oh really? A stupid sig is connected with anti social attitude? Well at least we know you should not be a doctor:P Really stop listening to these voices. Or at least ask them to tell better jokes.
Really you should work on your retort skills, it's bad enough you look like a kid that needs a hug and some psychotherapy, at least try some better lines:)
A friend is not him who provides support during your failures.A friend is the one that cheers you during your successes.
Lol. I love how people always feel obligated to "help" or to try to paint everything rainbow colors.
Nope you see I am neither trying to help nor paint everything in rainbow colors. You see the first implies that I care or that I have an idea of what festers in your mind and the second implies I lack experience or at least common sense.
Take it more as an advice and leave it at that. After all if you like the persona of a jaded, old fool, more power to you. And if you catch a unicorn, tell me what it tastes like:P

hehehe....and I love how you assumed I was talking about you.
Self-centered much?
I do have a question for some of you though.
Why is it when someone dies, like...all the way across the world, or someone you've never even met....why is it that you feel sad?
Or rather..HOW is it?
I don't understand, honestly. I feel nothing for the death or pain of others, except maybe amusement.
I've tried to put myself in your shoes, and try to understand, just to see what it might be like, but I can't.
People talk about death like it's some huge tragedy, and get all freaked out when someone dies. I think to myself "one down", and go about my buisiness.
I just don't understand herd mentality, I guess.
I remember back in 1999, folks kept asking me if I was stockpiling food. I always answered, "No, I'm stockpiling ammo and making a list of people who are stockpiling food"

I can tell your just trying to sound all cool and haughty on the internet, you aren't impressing anyone by acting like a tough guy. You're trying hard to sound like a sociopath, except that a true sociopath probably wouldn't find amusement in death but rather a complete indifference, amusement would be more in line with a psycopath. But I know that you are neither.
I also find it hard to believe that you are middle-aged, but perhaps you never moved on from the mentality of an angst-filled teenager. Sorry to hear you never matured properly.

And I love how you love that you assumed that I assumed you were talking about me:P
I am as self centered as any other person. That's why I talk about myself and not explain the behavior of others. Everyone has their own mind and they don't need me to speak theirs:) I can only speak mine:)
To your question I can't really answer. I don't feel sad when someone across the world that I haven't ever met dies but neither I feel amusement. Objectively speaking it's good to help minimize it as much as we can since we avoid future complications. I agree that death by itself is not a big thing. Everyone dies after all, so the best they can do is make their best with their lives. Simple as that.
The thing though you describe is part of an anti social behavior plus inability to be in touch with the feelings of others. It's not "herd" mentality as you say. I am no expert for sure, but there are quite a lot of psychological diseases associated with that. Depression for example can lead to it. Aspergen syndrome is another. If you want to check it good for you, if not then again no loss. It's your health not mine. And in the end everyone can live or burn.
A friend is not him who provides support during your failures.A friend is the one that cheers you during your successes.

Your future wife is human and you want all humans dead...
See what I'm saying - you present a front appearance that is fake. Which means you are hiding something. What are you hiding? Why the "I hate humans and want them all dead" disguise? If you are proud of who you are why are you hiding it? And if you don't want to be anything else why are you pretending to be something else?
It's okay fella, we are the same species, but we are not the same type of person - you are deceptive and secretive. You want your own children dead. You want your future bride to suffer. You want to live in a world that your children can't live in. Yeah, you should be feeling ashamed to belong to the same species as me.
You are a fraud, the question is, why the deception?

What is this deception you speak of? The only deception that I employ is what I use to manipulate others to my ends.
As far as my family...
My son is bitter and hateful, like me....and doesn't piss me off on a constant basis.
Same with my wife-to-be (although she has a rather nasty temper, whereas I am the cold, calm hateful type).
Maybe "all" was a bit too encompassing....but until someone PROVES that they are worthy of my kindness, they have nothing but my distain, and disgust.
I remember back in 1999, folks kept asking me if I was stockpiling food. I always answered, "No, I'm stockpiling ammo and making a list of people who are stockpiling food"

By deception he means the "I am trying to be a sociopath" thingy you are so fond of. And don't get me started on the "manipulate others to my ends". What the heck everyone and his aunt have became Machiavelli overnight?:P
You are a funny old man though. Proving to you that they are worthy of your kindness?:P At least stick with the "i am a sociopath and so are the people I associate with". Really when your family is dysfunctional or at least works on the basis of a common hatred, kindness is a bit on the imaginary side for you.
Stick with a story man. It's really cool you want to be a sheep(albeit a black one), but don't try so hard you know? And by the way to quote a comic "Kindness is never earned, only freely given....if you have any of course";)
A friend is not him who provides support during your failures.A friend is the one that cheers you during your successes.

They PROVE that they're worthy of your kindness by seeing thru your mask and accepting you, as I have already pointed out several times here.

Look dude, I am who I am. I don't "try" to be anything other than what I am.
Take a hard look at the herd. All those humans masking who they really are so that they can "fit in" and be "normal".
Disgusting.
And just because I hate humanity in general, why do you think I can not share love with my family? Am I limited by some imaginary boundary to one set of emotions?
See, you don't understand me, and I don't understand you.
And NO ONE understands Wickersham
The WHOLE POINT of my philosphy, of being true to myself, and being myself regardless of the opinions of others, is to NOT wear a "mask".
Completely opposite of that disgusting mass of human swill who tries so hard to be part of the crowd, and to have as many friends as possible. THEY are the ones lying to themselves, every moment of their lives.
I remember back in 1999, folks kept asking me if I was stockpiling food. I always answered, "No, I'm stockpiling ammo and making a list of people who are stockpiling food"

Just A historical correction for you here.
Rwanada, 5 million dead.
They don't count. African and Asian dead (Kymer Rouge) never do. They're not really people.
Another historical note, both Hiroshima and Nagasaki are thriving cities.
Just a historical correction for you here.
Rwanada, 5 million dead.
Korea 1+ million dead.
Vietnam 2+million dead.

me anti social? hahaha no. though sounds like you've been down that route .

O_o o_O

Basically, he's a girl who wants to wear a skimpy bikini to the beach, but she is self-conscious about her figure and would prefer it if no one else was at the beach; but at the same time understands that she wants to be admired and for that she needs an audience.
He just needs to come out of the closet and be the big beautiful butterfly that he is or continue to hide what's inside and continue to hate people because they're not seeing thru his disguise.

Damn. You are a seriously deep deep guy.
30,000 people don't die of starvation near me.
You do your bit, and I'll do mine. The world is what you make it.
If you care about saving the starving, do so.
You can make a difference. Lots of people do. You don't have to rescue the entire world, just the little bit of it around you. That's all it takes. You aren't alone in the world.
The more you put in, the more get you out of it. The world is what you make it. If you plant flowers, you will see beautiful flowers everywhere you go in life. They were always there, but you will spend more time looking at them. If you smile at people, you will meet more smiling people. That's how it works. You put in, you get out.
Like the man above says if all you look for is misery, then misery is all you will know.
Of course you can only see flowers if you choose to be blind to reality. This is the idiocy of humankind.

Bigdavo, I asked a legitimate question, because I've always wondered. I could care less what you think of me, and I sure as Hell wouldn't try to sound "tough" on the internet. What good would that do? It's not like I can physically reach out and smack the shit out of you on an internet forum now is it?
I'm 36, about to be married a second time, have kids, have owned a business, and have had a damn good life. I'm quite proud of who I am, thank you, and wouldn't be anything else.

The world is going to Hell in a handbasket.
I, however, plan to be holding the handles on the way down.
I think he want to be something other than what he is and the shame of it makes him dislike other people. It's not really the other people that are the problem - it's he himself who thinks that other people will have a problem with it.
So, Wicker, your theory that I am ashamed of who I am is crap. I'm ashamed that I belong to the same species as you, though.
Ashamed? HA! If anyone who knew me read that they would piss themselves laughing.
So your children are humans and you want all humans dead...
"The liberties and resulting economic prosperity that YOU take for granted were granted by those "dead guys"
