In what is perhaps the most shining example of obsession and geekiness I have ever seen, a fella by the name of Bradster has 36 World of WarCraft accounts that he plays on 11 computers simultaneously. He mainly seems to be doing it because he doesn’t like to rely on so many other people to get a raid going, which includes attacking the Alliance capital cities, and on that front I can totally see where he’s coming from.
It costs me exactly $5711 in subscription costs per year with 36 accounts on the 6 month pay schedule. Not bad considering I’m looking at it like it’s a hobby and there are more expensive hobbies out there than World of Warcraft
When Wrath of the Lich King is released, I plan to be at the store when it opens and will purchase 36 copies of it. With tax, it should be about $1500 for all of them. Then the shaman are on their way to level 80 along with the priest, druid and mage
A little excessive?

Too much money, no life and will probably never be with a woman in his lifetime.

I am stunned.
How...
No why....
No what....
I give up.
Which Final Fantasy Character Are You?
Final Fantasy 7
He offended you that much did he, mr. perfect?
You are easily stunned. Get out more imo.
qft
damn i never boxed in WoW but use to 3 box in Everquest alot for self grouping an god that could be a bitch sometimes , cant even begin to think with all them accounts
oh and... HOLY MULTITASKING BATMAN!
Blizz just lets people do this because its more money in their pockets. I think its unfair that people do this. Id hate to run into that guy, you'd be dead with the quickness.

Is there a particular reason you think that I need to -get out more-?
Seriously. I mean...being stunned when someone plays on 11 Computers simultaneously and can afford to pay for all that and has an obvious obsession going...err. Well, if you think that's what everyone and their uncle is doing maybe -you- should get out more?
To add to my statement. If he's having fun, go for it. I couldn't begin to imagine doing this (not in the least because I don't earn that much money in my little student's job XD).

LOL that is funny!
And here I thought the SWG preCU folks with 12 accounts were slightly daft.
CH, Jedi, Commando, Smuggler, BH, Scout, Doctor, Chef, BE...yeah, lots of SWG time invested.
Once a denizen of Ahazi
I wonder if he is any good at multitasking
This is beyond brilliant.

He is just doing this to sell accounts to all who say they cant play enough but also wanne be uber and have epics:P
Games played:AC1-Darktide'99-2000-AC2-Darktide/dawnsong2003-2005,Lineage2-2005-2006 and now Darkfall-2009.....
In between WoW few months AoC few months and some f2p also all very short few weeks.
Well, I'd give him an "A" for effort. Seriously. And, it is his money after all.
On the other hand, if this is true, it does punch some holes in the "raiding is challenging" theory. I guess this guy just decided to remove the only challenging part, which is being patient enough to f#ck with that many people at once...
I admire this much determinism. I hope doctors are the same way about curing cancer, charitable people in giving to the poor, and relief workers in helping provide food and clean water.

I agree with the notion that this is a business for him, selling accounts with non tradeable items. Blizzard should be tracking his activities very closely and seeing whether he holds onto all of these accounts or if they are being transfered to other persons at some point. Selling accounts is of course not allowed.
This kind of thing totally ruins the game for me when I run into these multiboxers. The premsie of a MMOG is that each character represents a unique human being, and when I encounter a multiboxer who doesn't even attempt to disguise that they are multiboxing by naming all their characters the same name with a single letter difference, I become disgusted.
The guy could simply like WoW and like to solo.
Wow that is absolutely awesome. No clue how he could do that, I have trouble running 2 Eve accounts at the same time.
Tried: LotR, CoH, AoC, WAR, Jumpgate Classic
Played: SWG, Guild Wars, WoW
Playing: Eve Online, Counter-strike
Loved: Star Wars Galaxies
Waiting for: Earthrise, Guild Wars 2, anything sandbox.

When you solo, which is what I do mostly, you are supposed to rely on your individual skills and abilities, not circumvent game design by creating hybrids thru multiboxing and artificially increasing your power.
The trade off between soloing and grouping is inherent in MMOG design. Multiboxers are cheaters who can't hack soloing, the act of playing a single character, but also want the benefits of grouping, of having access to multiple classes and increased power in numbers, but won't accept the design trade-off of sharing loot and having to deal with multiple personalities.
and y is this bad?
I applaud that guy. An MMO nerd is an MMO nerd, might aswell be an exceptional one.
Awesome. Playing an MMO, totally ignoring the M for Multiplayer.
Now, considering the fact of paying for all those accounts every month (or 3 months, 6 months, whatever), not to mention the power bills........he must not do much else?
I do applaud the effort, though. Its just that I cannot understand why anyone would do something like this. On the other hand, even if I wanted to, my wife would throw out anything resembling a PC, closely followed by my lifeless corpse. This guy has never left his teen life.
