Why do you keep telling these lies about me? I have told you I still play AoC using my friends accout. I have done ALL these things you say here.

Can't you just except the fact that most people just don't like Age of Conan?

90% of original player base quit AoC. Doesn't this tell you something? You think they all quit because of some broken quests? No. They quit because they thought the game sucked.

And you can keep putting your hands together and praying you're right. You still have to post to convince yourself. You already told us that you played your friends account for 1 day for a couple hours at lvl 40 - you have no idea about the keeps / raids, etc in current form, and skip all the direct normal questions I have asked before. Might be best you moved on it's not healthy. You see at the end of the day we have seen this here on these forums over the past 18 months - guess what? Those that play the game are still here, over the 90% that quit and post to cause nuisance.. they realised it's not healthy and moved on - its been 6 months already. You can cling to your 90% figure all you like but you can never prove it as fact.

Why can we never prove it as fact? Because Funcom shutup tighter than a drum about this issue when the game went over the cliff.  This game is dead - they posted sub numbers and then abruptly ceased this practice, citing company policy.  It wasnt policy in the 2nd quarter report when they were trying to use the propped up number to bolster support for the game.  Now they know if they release numbers they have to explain what they mean and they wont be good. So they opt not to release them....

We would LOVE to see some current numbers from funcom.  Blizzard does this pretty regularly.  Aside from the falsehood funcom employees try to spread on their forums, blizzards numbers are not people served.  The numbers they release are number currently playing in their first month, number of people paying with game cards, and number of people with current paid up accounts via CC, pay pal and other various payment methods.

So Avery if Funcom is right and AoC is on the rebound, why not post sub number? WOW does it? What could possibly be the reason that Funcom DID in the Q2 report, and now says they dont because of company policy?

I think this has been spoon fed to you before. Expected revenue in Q4 is 8-10 Mill USD. 1 year ago Operating revenue was like 0.5 Mill USD making AoC responsible alone for 7.5-9.5 Mill USD in Q4 this year. I showed it on a pocket calculator to you before (just look it up if you already forgot it) that this equivalents to at least 150 000 to 200 000 AoC players. After all nobody will give the money in charity to FC. They have to make them from subs. If this is still not good enough for you, I guess you just have to play WoW that aledgedly have 12 Mill subs. Let me remind you of that not all people agree with that number either.

I doubt Blizzard would lie about their sub numbers. If they got caught, wouldn't that be like lying to investors, which would be a bad thing?

These Conan numbers you talk about are just guessing. I wouldn't use that shady Q3 report as my primary source of subscription information. Didn't they use dirty tricks to fiddle with the numbers? Until Funcom releases those numbers, we will never know for sure.

What I've personally seen was a huge mass exodus of players. It felt like all the players from my server slowly left. After PvP patch some of them returned and some others came to our server from other less populated servers, but server population never went back to what it was at launch. Not even close.

So, since I probably will get banned for telling what I think is so funny *suppressed laughter*, lets pretend I want to hear your storry and some of your more detailed experiences.

What server did you play on?  What PvP level did you get to and what was you favourite PvP armor?  Give us an example of the redemption Quest you thought was the one FC did worst job on. An example on the one you liked the most would also be good?  What was your favorite PvP minigame map?

Let me get this straight.. What is wrong with that "shady" Q3 report? You know lying in such a financial report is a fellony punishable by imprisonment? If they used "dirty tricks" I guess you could point me to a news article discussing the case that has been filed against them? Or since you are so confident it is untrustworthy, why not go press charges yourselves?

But ofcourse, we better trust the rumour mongerers on these boards instead....

I don`t know if anyone from Funcom read this forum and if it's the case know that people love your game but they were terribly disappointed by lot of small things that make it into a big fuck up.
From what I`ve seen watching friends playing the game(before the new patch) I 'll give the game 6/10.FC will have to do twice the work to bring back "leavers" and new players such as myself in.For this game to earn 8/10 city raiding/crafting and all end game should work as intended and marketed.
AoC has everything to be the next big thing,so FC you can make(fix) it or break it for good.

Well we all say that, but thruth is after the last patches you see more and more of these people unloading their satisfaction with this game through type 9/10 reviews. I myself is ready to give it 88/100. After DX10 and even more content, you can yourself imagine where this ends.

    Bankruptcy?

    I'll give it:

    PvE  6/10

    PvP 5/10

(But I last played 3 months back and have not tried the PvP Patch, new quests, new crafting recipies, built a guild city or battlekeep nor experienced Ymir's Pass Zone the largest free update since I last subbed  yet.)

Have you guys noticed that some of these notorious 50 hate posts pr day profiles only post in the weeks (like on work days). I am not mentioning any particluar names, but since I am posting here I guess you kind of can imagine who I am talking about. Just pay attention, monday morning it's all back to work, trolling that forum.

And the 50 fanboy posts? Ohhhhh I see its one sided.

Aiside from your obvious bias whats the point? People go back to the office on Monday ( most people do work Mon-Fri) and read and post. Weekends tend to be slow around here.  So wheres this conspiracy going?

You are right both type of posters just ads a lot of noise and polarized BS to the forum. Very good but old point. Let me rephrase what I was saying. There are many many many more trollposting profiles(notice I am saying profiles here, not persons) in this forum than blind fanbois. They in general spew out an amount of erronous information and flamenonsens that makes the few fanposts to minor problem. That's not bias thats talking about the biggest problem.

Spread the love across the board. I bet you will find more games that don't release sub numbers than do.

Simple fact is if your getting millions of subs you will use it to your advantage. How long was it before Blizz starting annoucing sub numbers? Will we ever see EQ official sub numbers? Will Mythic release Sub numbers next year? Or even Turbine? There is one other company that semi releases numbers and that is NCSoft.

It's all old news to be honest, and this further reading might show you that it is definately not just FC. www.mmogchart.com/analysis-and-conclusions/

So maybe moving forward it would be more acurate to label the 'industry' as a whole instead of pointing the finger at one company.

Of course they do, and there are some exceptions. The way things are generally reading from the link above is even private companies don't release figures either, no reason not to right? Fact is there are maybe 3/4 companies that do officially

Ok please don't take this thread further off topic. There are a ton of other threads to discuss those god damn subscriber numbers. This thread is for game talk and reviews/grading of AoC only.

Since I now am in level 66 I'd like to tell to the naysayers that if possible I give AoC even more a 10/10 now. Dude, the new area Ymirs Pass is just an absolute artpice. Standing ovation FC. I remember how people said just wait till you level, just wait till you have leveled some. Well now I have leveled some and i still dig it.

Last thing, FC did many additions and changes to crafting, but I still think they have some way to go on this one. So if you are the guy that loves crafting to death, I would say this game is a strong 9/10. I don't craft in any game btw. The concept of collecting stuff is too much efford. I rather like to kill. lol.

I rather like to kill. lol.

Ok, I give AoC a 5/10.  I gave it a 2.5/10 at launch, and that was being optimistic.

No offense meant, Pezz, but if FC slaughtered your family, burned your house to the ground, and stole your girlfriend, you'd still give it at least a 9/10.  You are emotionally invested.

Hell hath no fury like an MMORPG player scorned.

Nope I am not, I just like a good game, and you know what, once I have had it with AoC I am on my way to the next one. What I just pointed out in my posts above is only what most other less vocal AoC players think, "this game is great, WTF are the professors analyzing this game to death for. Just log in and play alright!". It boggles my mind, why people are going to such lenghts to downtalk a game. I play any game thats fun out there (and ohh my god I mean anything, Wii, Playstation 3, Xbox 360, anything) and belive me AoC holds a very high standard. It's just very fun and has a great gameengine. Do yourself a favour, don't pass on a good game due to all the professortalk of venomposters in various forums.

One last note, I have thought about that downtalk thing in the MMO community. It is quite special you know, to spend so much time on trashing games. And I think it is something people of MMO games do to competing games to in some twisted way prevent people from trying out newer and better games. You know, that might depopulate their own favorite game. So there it is, my own little Professor blurp. The message is simple, this game is fun, same level as other really good level 10 defining games out there. Give it a try.
