Most people do exactly that, why do you think the population is dwindling in the first place. Borehammer is on a fast track to being just another SWG, AoC and VG.
The point is why announce it? Why should we care? Tell me that you don't like the game because of x, y, & z. I listen to that. A hit and run statment like "I can't bear to log on" is of no value to the discussion. Written diarrhea, nothing more.
In general, one shouldn't care. But when the posts about Warhammer generally are comprised of either
a) Wow!! Mythic said they are giving us stuff in 6 months that should have been in at launch!! WOW!
b) Warhammer is the worst MMORPG I have EVER played, boring as hell.
then the game has some serious issues and pitfalls which should have been avoided from the getgo. Most other succesful MMORPG's mostly base their bickering around which class shouldn't be able to beat this other class but not so with Warhammer. It's mostly revolving around the game being entirely broken at T4, massive boredom, tons of bugs and fanbois hyping it up still just like that lunatic we saw for 2 years straight in the dev video blogs making WAR seem like the golden goose of PvP MMO's.
Fact of the matter is, WAR as a game is failing right now. Server transfers ongoing. Server mergers. Boredom. Bugs. No endgame. No point to the little endgame there is. It's lightyears from what people were promised. And these are exactly the very same reasons AoC, SWG, VG, Horizons, HG London, TR and many others despite massive hype and fanboism to the very last minute failed utterly.

I can't speak to your statement that the game is failing because I don't have any stats to support my opinion, but it seems like more folks are on my server every day. Maybe due to mergers, maybe not.
Server transfers/mergers: I wouldn't call 36 servers to 26 an indicator of failure. Too optimistic, yes.
Boredom: That's too subjective to use as a reason. I'm not bored at all (as are thousands of others who play regularly).
Bugs: Can't speak to that since I haven't encountered a single one so far.
No endgame: In an MMO? Uh, OK.
---
I do find it amusing that two of the failed games you listed were some of my favorites: TR and HGL. I hope its true that HGL will continue as a f2p -- I really loved that game. Of course, I never had any of the technical issues others were having.
It would be nice to have a good sci-fi MMO. I'd be looking foward to Star Wars: TOR, but I really don't like any of the Star Wars stuff: games or movies. Eve and VO didn't catch my attention either. Maybe someday I'll find one.
My biggest loss is a good horror MMO. They just don't seem to do well. Requiem is the only one left and its not bad, but isn't keeping my attention.

Well, the failing part is easy enough, if 10 is the number of servers they had to cut off this soon after launch, then that's huge. Mark Jacobs has previously said, if they are not adding servers still within 6 weeks of launch, it's big big trouble. He also said server mergers and shutdowns was a very bad thing for any MMO. Which is true, it's the absolute worst kind of publicity any MMO can receive. No matter if it's 1 or 10 servers, it means the subscribers are dropping.
It's of course good that you and others aren't bored but if 5 people join and 10 people quit in roughly the same amount of time, that's disastrous.
It's pretty much bugs a plenty at times, clipping issues are also still very rampant, especially for White Lion and SH. Not to mention people with extreme machines are actually having serious lag and fps issues while some people with mid range setups seem to do fine.
KOR might actually do well if they don't mess it up too much. Games such as KOR and Star Trek Online will survive due to the huge fanbases both games hold. Just don't pull another NGE that's all.
I'm waiting on Resident Evil 5 for the console for my horror fix though.
Most people do exactly that, why do you think the population is dwindling in the first place. Borehammer is on a fast track to being just another SWG, AoC and VG.

Originally posted by Illthala roll on gorfang, ive seen 200 on 200 fights.
Not calling you a liar, but the population caps on the fort sieges won't let 400 people in if that is what you are talking about. It's way too many to stay stable. Next, what server is there now that is ever an even "200 vs 200" battle? Over 90% of the servers are either too many Order or too many Destro. Grats on finding the only balanced server in the game, but you shouldn't be telling us. You should be calling Ripley's Believe it or Not.
Mythic lets in way more attackers than defenders by design, so you won't ever see an even 200 v 200 even fight as you claim. Averages seems to be around 120 v 70 or something like that from what most sane people post.
200 v 200 would definitely bring crash city to the zone. Are you talking about now or at release in September?
After reading all these whiney posts I am very confused..Is this a Game forum or a nursery full of newborn babies. Lots of crying going on...The problem with all these MMO's are the people playing it and not the game itself.. The same people who don't take the time to enjoy a game, to explore, to goof off, to play another game, to have a life outside of 23 hours of MMO's...This game is no different than any other mmo's end game..The problem is people gun for the end game several months after release and miss out on alot . I don't feel any pity for you because you chose to run as fast as you could to the end game..All I can say to you is if you don't like the end game or other things about WAR there is always much worse MMO's (WOW) (lol) waiting for you. "The game is only as good as the person playing it...."
You got it, they are babies. I don't know why they feel the need to spend time bashing WAR in its forum - why don't they just go to the game forum they ARE playing and talk about how great that game is.
Personally, I'm having a great time playing WAR. Can't wait to see where Mythic takes this one. Mythic has always been a slow starter with their games. Remember the early days of DAoC? People were always complaining about the lack of content/ fun. Look what they did over time. I'm waiting this one out.
Many MMO-ers today have some patheitc ADD condition that causes them to self destruct if they don't have fun the first 30 seconds in a game. The upside is that they won't stay and we won't have to deal with them in-game.
I have 3 toons in T4 - A WP <RR52> a 37 SW <RR37> and a 39 WH <RR44>. I also have a 24 IB.
What you have just alluded to is a load of rubbish. If you want to continue to subscribe to a sub-par game, then that is your prerogative. Don't expect the rest of us to do the same because we have seen the garbage which is the end product.
I make these posts hoping to generate a thread that will cause game designers to take some notice of what we will not put up with. AoC had similar feedback from it's players, and justly got what it deserved - an ex-player base. You can scoff at threads like these all you like, but you will be the first one moaning when you have no one to play with.
I thought WAR was going to blow everything out of the water, and I left LOTRO thinking it would. But it didnt, just like AOC. Its a good game, it just needs more people. I'm not a WAR fan and I don't think I ever will be... and their creative director got me wanting to play until I did. Now even LOTRO is shit. Come on Bioware give us the MMO we've all been hoping for all this time.
If you want to continue to subscribe to a sub-par game, then that is your prerogative. Don't expect the rest of us to do the same because we have seen the garbage which is the end product.
Exactly, and I don't expect you to do the same. If you don't like the game then go away and don't play. Those of us who like the game will continue to play regardless of the verbal diarrhea you spew on these forums. Whiny posts won't garner much attention from anyone who has a brain in their head.
I don't know a developer in the world that would pay attention to non-specific comments designed to incite other posters. If they do, then they're idiots. Your OP has really no actionable criticism in it, at least not something a delevoper would pass off as anything more than spam.
Try giving CONCRETE examples instead of opinionated "hot-words" if you want to get the attention of the development team.
anyone who says they havent encountered a bug is either 1) a moron 2) lying 3) hasnt played the game considering every ability in the game that requires a cast time has been bugged since 1.06
And I would say that anyone who is paralyzed by minor bugs and can't compensate is either:
1) a moron
2) trolling
3) hasn't learned how to work around bugs and still enjoy the game
Every game has bugs. Personally I haven't encountered anything that is so horrendous that I even perceived it as a bug. No functionality in this game keeps me from being successful or having fun.
If a few minor bugs make a game unplayable for you, then you should consider toning down your gameplay to something a bit more in your league -- like checkers.
We on Eltharion in EU, made it to IC today - what a complete and utter waste of time. This is the WORST end game I have experienced in any MMO - apart from AoC. It is outrageous. A huge effort from Order to create the opportunity, and for what? Order in one instance, Desdemona in the other - doing what? Farming the same PQ over and over again for gold bags with Invader gear in them? Mythic, is this it? Is this what you worked 4 years for to achieve? This game cannot hold a candle to the end game of DAoC, so what the hell has happened in the interim? Did you sack your best imaginative brains, or are they stuck in a time warp somewhere, thinking people enjoy this mind-numbing experience? I sat back whilst watching some of this inane activity, and thought to myself, 'ok, how do I feel about this now I'm here...' Underwhelmed and a massively multiplayered anticlimax. Rubbish.
I've read at least 10 posts that are almost a word for word duplicate to this one yet I haven't heard one positive post about City Sieges.
I was a part of the closed beta but imo, they spent almost no time testing City Sieges, In fact we spent almost no time in T4 and guess what, the endgame is what people are complaining about. The game design isn't complete yet and if they would only acknoledge that instead of claiming that it mearly needs some small tweaking, they could actually retain a lot more customers.
I don't know if EA or Mythic are at the core of rushing the game out prior to testing these systems but at this point, I don't think it matters.
I for one am tired of companies that take the Wizard of Oz approach to deleaing with overwhelming complaints form their customers. Funcmon did it with AoC and now Mythic is doing it with WAR. "Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!"

AoC and Warhammer have sadly followed the same path, and current subscribers of both games - in contrast to the original box sales - have voted with their wallets.
The days of gaming companies fobbing the general populace off with half assed attempts at a 'finished' article, are over.
Warning to MMO's that follow - polish the 2nd half of the game as much as you do the first. Gamers have had enough of your lying and cheating.
Not to strike out at anyone in particular, but reading these posts are almost LOLable to me. I remember not too long ago, when this game was surfacing how anyone who pointed out any real bug or issue with it, got flamed by 100 different replies being told to, "...go back to WoW!" or "You don't know what you're talking about n00b!" and now this...lol.
Well, this game hasn't just now gotten boring. It's been boring from the moment it started Open Beta. But people were too blind to see it and too arrongant or dumb to stand behind the people who did see the issues with it and posed complaints and suggestions to fix the issues. So Mythic, with the whole fanboi community standing faithfully behind them, just handed you what you were willing to accept. Oh well, I guess you get what you ask for.
Currently Playing: Aion Trying Out: Retired: The Chronicles of Spellborn, EvE, LotRo, WoW, VG, AoC, CoX, RO Waiting on: Blade & Soul, Black Prophecy, Global Agenda, The Agency, SW:ToR, T.E.R.A. Working On: The 5th Dimension (coming soon)

You had me agreeing with you on the first paragraph. Far too many gamers are quick to shout down anyone whose opinion differs from theirs. It's quite juvenile, I agree.
Then you launch into this emotion filled rage about how players were all wrong in initially liking the game and those that spoke out about it early on are somehow vindicated. You lost me there and if that makes me a fan boy in your book, then so be it.
Just so I'm clear, I still enjoy Tiers One, Two and Three. I think they're a hell of a blast to play. Could things be improved? Sure but that's true of any MMO game. I'm still willing to pay a monthly subscription for what I get out of those zones. I have real issues with the endgame and imho that's what's broken, incomplete, bugged, unbalanced - whatever you wish to call it.
I support Mythic in fixing their endgame but I'll also publicly spank them for rushing out what was incomplete.
P.S. Did Vanguard ever get helmets in the game? Of all the things that were incomplete about that game at launch, I was most disapointed about the helmets. I really wanted Vanguard to succeed but imho, it was another issue of, "let's sell what we've built so far and we'll finish the rest of the game down the road."
If you want to continue to subscribe to a sub-par game, then that is your prerogative. Don't expect the rest of us to do the same because we have seen the garbage which is the end product.

I suggest you learn how to read then.
The developers of this game can ignore a 15 page thread if they like, just like the fools over at Funcom did. They can also pray that subscribers like you come down with the next shower of rain. Intelligent gamers will find something else to play, as the recent massive exodus of previous subscribers shows.
Down to 300k from 'allegedly' 1 million box sales? Titanic and iceberg spring to mind.

I never seen any buggs in one game: Guildwars. But while small buggs is annoying, it is not a gamebreaker. Mythic have a lot of more important stuff to fix, like better end game content instead of focusing on small crap like that. Put 1 guy on it and let him slowly kill the buggs one and one, get the rest of the team to add more content instead, and to balance the PvP better.
Warhammer do have issues but this isn't really one of them.
They have a couple of bugs, but the worst one I can think of off the top of my head is the pet bug.
You fight someone who has a pet and he can shoot you through trees, walls, boulders, everything. This was in the game since release and its still not addressed. I honestly don't know how you could not fix this for this long. It makes 1 v 1 battles with certains things not fun at all.
This part was really amateurish, especially with pet classes being popular in most games.
I have no clue why Mythic joined with EA cause EA is a ridiculous company to work for. I've said it a 100 times and I'll say it again. WAR would have been a much more interesting game if they utilized more popular mechanics and designs from DAoC. DAoC 2 > WAR and DAoC 2 doesn't even exist... How sad is that...
Just curious, you aren't saying this whole mess in EA's fault, are you? I don't read anywhere where Jacobs said EA made him do anything except keep quiet about sales numbers because its against the law. He has always claimed Mythic had complete control over this project since Day 1. I fail to see where EA has any responsibility in this at all, actually. The worst thing EA has done, was tell Mythic to cut employees due to overall corporate strategy. But given how poorly Warhammer has performed overall, that isn't too unreasonable, right?
Not sure if you are pointing a finger at EA here or not but it looks that way, but I don't think EA insisted that Mythic use something other than DAOC frameworks to make this. Jacobs had freedom to make his game how he wished, he chose this route.
I said all this in beta about how Keep RVR was boring and Scenarios were boring and how they split up the population to much. I said that Public Quests ended up being a boring grind and how cause theres only 2 cities that the lands other than Empire and Chaos would be pointless and how the PVE in the game sucked. Even if you opened up the lands to City RVR then you're just spliting the population up even more.
However all that happened was you got flamed by Warhammer Online fanbois who claimed the game was the best thing ever.......
This is why developers should have what they want for the game set in stone and to ignore the community.

People gun for the endgame because the way there is exactly the same in all games and we've all done it before too many times.
If you had to re-do gradeschool and re-do high school every time you changed jobs, the suicide rate would be much higher.

I'm not a WAR fan and I don't think I ever will be... and their creative director got me wanting to play until I did. Now even LOTRO is shit. Come on Bioware give us the MMO we've all been hoping for all this time.
Which Final Fantasy Character Are You?
Final Fantasy 7
Exactly, and I don't expect you to do the same. If you don't like the game then go away and don't play. Those of us who like the game will continue to play regardless of the verbal diarrhea you spew on these forums. Whiny posts won't garner much attention from anyone who has a brain in their head.
I don't know a developer in the world that would pay attention to non-specific comments designed to incite other posters. If they do, then they're idiots. Your OP has really no actionable criticism in it, at least not something a delevoper would pass off as anything more than spam.
Try giving CONCRETE examples instead of opinionated "hot-words" if you want to get the attention of the development team.
anyone who says they havent encountered a bug is either
1) a moron
2) lying
3) hasnt played the game
considering every ability in the game that requires a cast time has been bugged since 1.06
And I would say that anyone who is paralyzed by minor bugs and can't compensate is either:
1) a moron

Currently Playing: Aion

I am losing interrest in the game

I suggest you learn how to read then.
The developers of this game can ignore a 15 page thread if they like, just like the fools over at Funcom did. They can also pray that subscribers like you come down with the next shower of rain. Intelligent gamers will find something else to play, as the recent massive exodus of previous subscribers shows.
Down to 300k from 'allegedly' 1 million box sales? Titanic and iceberg spring to mind.
Yeah they got helmets now, lol.
