The same people who don't take the time to enjoy a game, to explore, to goof off, to play another game, to have a life outside of 23 hours of MMO's...This game is no different than any other mmo's end game..The problem is people gun for the end game several months after release and miss out on alot .
I don't feel any pity for you because you chose to run as fast as you could to the end game..All I can say to you is if you don't like the end game or other things about WAR there is always much worse MMO's (WOW) (lol) waiting for you.
"The game is only as good as the person playing it...."

People gun for the endgame because the way there is exactly the same in all games and we've all done it before too many times.

If you had to re-do gradeschool and re-do high school every time you changed jobs, the suicide rate would be much higher.

This game has no end game. It is a joke to compare this games end game to WOW or even LOTRO. Warhammer was a huge flop. It is linear not an open world and feels like a single player game. Warhammer online will not be online next year it will be shut down.

You're kidding right?  Who the hell, besides masochists, want to slog through 39 levels of absolute boredom and sheer stupidity to get to the fun stuff?  (And that fun stuff is quite debatable.)

With PvE raiding, it has never been a question of being "good enough". I play games to have fun, not to be a simpering toady sitting through hour after hour of mind numbing boredom and fawning over a guild master in the hopes that he will condescend to reward me with shiny bits of loot. But in games where those people get the highest progression, anyone who doesn't do that will just be a moving target for them and I'll be damned if I'm going to pay money for the privilege. - Neanderthal

The game now is far from boring, I always have something to do. Granted the game in it s current state should have been at release, ie ORVR chages etc, but the game is currently far from boring, and only going to get better.

Well the "players have colliders" where you can't move through players is a nice thing to have (actually it should be in all games), i'm not going to pay for this game cause of one nice thing. Like i'm not gong to play Vanguard cause there are no instances, one nice thing.

Have you ever tried fitting 100 people into a small set of stairs with colliders on? Sounds impossible, painful and so amazingly stupid noone would do it right? Welcome to WAR.

Or you use it as a advantage to block a bottleneck with tanks up front.

Great idea, poor realization. Most of the time it only adds to the frustation of an already broken game and huge roadblocks for your own faction. But most people already said that in beta. Why listen, right?

IF this roadblock Wins you a war then nobody will complain. if they do complain because they cant get trough there is ussualy some other way to get to the other end of the action.

When played well this roadblock for tanks could become a passageway for melee to storm trough also. Players just need to coordinate.

actually neller i don't like you and im gonna ignore your posts. (i suggest evryone else to do the same) because they add nothing to this forums exept yet again useless trolling. Go find a Job or something.

Do you remember the big press release when they reached 850.000? Do you remember the fiscal report released two days ago that shows they had 300.000 as of December 31st?

That's 550.000 lost and no clue how many left since then. Most of the people who got it for Christmas are counted in the 300.000. Many of those most likely ALSO quit between then and now for the very same reasons the other 550.000 did.

Yes, because not agreeing with you and explaining why is trolling, gotcha. Sure, go ahead and ignore, I'm glad to provide an objective path to people thinking about buying the game from having read hyped up information and lies.

Boring boring WhoreHammer ... Whores for thinking about little more than cashing in the big $ on the back of a successful DAoC. In terms of the proportionate time line WhoreHammer is so inferior in quality to DAoC that is makes you wonder what has been happening for the past seven years. Really this game suxs. Too much hype and too much of a compromise in trying to poach WOW players. It will last no more than 2-3 years (if that) with steady active user decline. Merging servers was something Marc Jacobs said would be a sign of failure. They've already done that. WhoreHammer FAILED ... next?

Played many years at DAOC. Couldn't play more than 1 month at war . Tried another time, but couldn't. My sub is still active (>16.02) but stopped yesterday. Can't play war, i know why: this game is not a daoc like but a wow like.

This game is too wowish, not a RvR game but a stuff game. Not a PVP game, a PVE game:

    - PVE: solo quests, PQ and RvRE

    - PVP: only in oRvR when you can fight against players and not against Lords or Champions; BG are a paste copy of Wow's BG.

Played Wow 1 month in 2005 but imo Wow is a better game than this wow's clone.

This is the WORST end game I have experienced in any MMO - apart from AoC.  It is outrageous.
A huge effort from Order to create the opportunity, and for what?  Order in one instance, Desdemona in the other - doing what?
Farming the same PQ over and over again for gold bags with Invader gear in them?  Mythic, is this it?  Is this what you worked 4 years for to achieve?  This game cannot hold a candle to the end game of DAoC, so what the hell has happened in the interim?
Did you sack your best imaginative brains, or are they stuck in a time warp somewhere, thinking people enjoy this mind-numbing experience?
I sat back whilst watching some of this inane activity, and thought to myself, 'ok, how do I feel about this now I'm here...'
Underwhelmed and a massively multiplayered anticlimax.
    Rubbish.

If you like a good end-game.  Give Vanguard awhirl.  It'll take you several months to get there, but it's very well done.  However, very little PvP and no RvR.

Can't actually argue with this summary, sort of hits spot on I think.

We can all wish for what might have been, and keep our hopes up for an Origins server.

Iam not trolling or anything, i never have played it yet,

just wondering, what makes Warhammer's end game different from the great grinds from WoW's end game?

WoW did good end game grinding, so what is War doing differently that is turning so many heads?

    fill me in people please.

I am sick and tired of people thinking thats all there is to MMO's. The story line of the quests, the fun of getting from zone to zone, and the ablity to war against good or evil (your choice) is the point of these games. In UO you had no end game. Just mobs that were almost impossible to take without a plan or PvP. That was it. This whole raiding concept can be fun (in small doses). You are not uber because you followed some other guys strat on how to beat a boss or because you can do it over and over without  party wipe. Congratz jackass!  you win a cookie! Farming the same mobs for gear doesn't make you elite, its makes you sheep following a heard.

Well said. People have lost sight these games are about the journey not the end. I really liked when games would take more than a year to max our your character on. It made it all the more about the journey, and your character.

Now though, the seem to be more about, like you said, following a strat and getting that "epic" item.

The difference is, in WAR the supposed endgame, which was city sieges, is mostly done through PvE. NOT PvP in huge battles as promised. Basically it's a repeatable PQ. Other than that maybe a dungeon to do. And that's it.

Many people actually believe Mythic when they said this game was all about RvR PvP and city sieges in the end. What a huge disappointment and hyped up garbage that turned out to be.

It's just the typical mistake every single MMORPG developer out there makes. What makes it worse in the case of WAR, the only thing they have planned to correct this, is 2 MORE classes and a new dungeon. More of the same boring stuff. 2 new classes when you already have a ton is not going to help anything at all.

  • VhalnVhaln Member Posts: 3,159

Ton of classes, but just minor variations of your basic dumbed down archetypes, to ensure balance, and display a serious lack of creativity.  I've been playing AoC, and really impressed with the classes in that game, and the interesting spec choices they get.  Terribly unbalanced, but I've always said, screw balance, it comes at too high a price.  Now Mythic's offered a perfect example.

    When I want a single-player story, I'll play a single-player game. When I play an MMO, I want a massively multiplayer world.

So why do the few remaining (and disappearing until the inevitable shut down) people have to pay to play a fake game for a month+ ?

Mythic and EA need to cut the huge losses this failure has been, the longer it can stay online the more cash they can scrape together before the shutdown. That's why the money they're making won't be put towards any decent amount of content.

Just look at their "expansion" pack. 2 classes that was supposed to have been in at launch and a new dungeon over the course of the next 5 months. Lovely.

I personally think the world is a lot better in Warhammer than Daoc. However I think you are right about them trying to poach Wow players, that is the problem as I see it too. They should have focused on going their own way instead of re-using so much Wow stuff.

The sad thing is that the game could have been so good, the world is really made for RPGing. Andthey could have added many funny things that would be easy to make, like Snotball/Bloodbowl games as a scenario, I would love that.

I played the RPG game for almost 20 years and only Altdorf have the feeling of the game, but they cut out the fear of becoming a mutant which have a big impact on the world. They removed all horror from the game.

And having 2 sides instead of 3 is against the lore, the story why the greenskins and Chaos hangs together is weak at best.

The game do have some good things but nothing that can keep me going for more than a month...
