Of course it was only a matter of time before someone used the religion card in an attempt to prove a point as if religion is a credible source.  It's disgusting thinking that this country is labeled as "free" when there is still an ongoing struggle with this kind of closed-minded censorship and archaic ideals.

P.S I'm making religion founded on stealing your wallets and buying booze with the money.  But you can't touch me, because it's my belief.

As long as it's done in an realistic way and customers are warned properly,

    by all means!

It's so easy to get access to movies, games, comics etc. that display women practically getting raped by men and pretending to enjoy it.

I think it would be a good thing if movies, games, comics etc. were released that displayed sex in the way it's truly done in real life so that teenagers ( yes, that's the people just below 18 that can't officially watch sex yet. ) can watch these things to actually get a good idea on how to treat each other when they finally have sex.

I've heard way too many weird stories about teens doing it for the first time and basically trying to enact a porn movie. The end result leaves only a slightly soar girl and an ashamed boy. Neither of them having enjoyed it in any way at all.

Sex is an important party of a relationship. And a relationship simply is an important part of life. As such sex is an important part of life. I think it's rather silly that it's easier to get access to the perversed version of something that's important then the actual loving version.

And yes, this actually is mostly the parent's job. But with parents already freaking out over seeing a simple penis in a video game do you honestly think they're going to sit down with their kids to explain them how to treat their lovers in the bedroom? They most likely won't and those kids are going to be curious and going to try to find other sources.

I'd rather have those other sources being actual realistic and tender depictions of sex than a girls being pressed face-first into the ground with a guy brutally 'banging' her.

    But hey, just my opinion.

    We are the bunny.
    Resistance is futile.

Seriously, saying: "hey, it's just a body part" doesn't mean that you're open-minded, it only shows that you are ignorant. Some people are completly OK with it and some are not. It's completly normal. If you had to answer this "poll" up there, most people would pick #1 or #3 as they want to look "cool" or "funny" but in real life (did you notice those 2 words in yellow? If not re-read), if you had to face such thing, you'd probably end up running away and call the police or "start beating the guy up" (which is pretty much unlikely to happen.) Than why do you say: "Hey it's just a body part?"

No, it's you who are ignorant. You are completely messing this up.

This has nothing to do with "it's a body part" or whatever.

Do you know why people would call the police? Because "dropping your pants and showing your penis" is not a normal behavior. It's the behavior of pedophiles, sick and often harmful people.

This is why people would call the police, they are afraid. It has nothing to do with being open about penises or not.

And here again you are ignorant, to use your own word.

Being open about sexual organs doesn't mean that we think about sex when we see them.

Reading you I now understand you and many of the people in this thread much better. Because if seeing sexual organs makes you think about sex so much (as you say "There's time for sex and there's time to play video games"), then I can understand why it should be taboo for you guys. I think you guys should look after the problems in your heads.

And it's not about "If you want to play a video game that involves sex". No, we don't "want" to. It's only that if it's there, then it's there, no big deal. It's part of our body, it's part of life, and we are all born naked.

Really, people who are disturbed so much about sexual organs should seek help.

You make one hell of an assumption there. You did not bring it "back on topic". All you did was bait me with your derogatory little comment designed to insult me based on some fantasy you cooked up in your tiny little mind. The scenario I gave is one in which the child is supervised in a home environment and is exposed to something that CANNOT be controlled so please crawl back under your rock and be satisfied with your paranoid opinions that the boogeyman is really the parent who can't control everything that happens OUTSIDE the home. I made no reference to my (or any other) kid sitting unsupervised surfing porn sites you jackass.

Edit: Just to clarify my position on the matter one last time... I am NOT offended by nudity. I am offended by people who find the NEED to place it everywhere. What is the point? Would you buy the game just to look at the penis? If that's the case then I suggest you seek some help or go get yourself a friend if they're so damned important to look at. I don't need a penis in ads for candybars either but I'm sure all you sexually liberated voyeurs will find that to be a great step forward when it happens.

I'm not religious and I don't think nudity should be in most games. I just don't care to see it and it doesn't enchance the gameplay in any way. lol Its pretty much just added for 14 year old boys (I doubt that most adult guys really care about it) and the point I have made in my previous post is that th number of female gamers gets larger every year. So if most adult males don't care about it and most women (pretty much any age) don't care about it, then why is it there? For the 14 year old boys of course. So the target audience for the sex and nudity are 14 year olds? Hmmm that says alot about the gaming industry....

Forget the time spent creating nude characters and focus on improving gameplay. Maybe then we'll have better games.

If a game has full female nudity, then full male nudity shouldn't be an issue.

I agree, that it's a double standard.  But all in all, who cares?  I don't know the ratio of male to females that play games, but say it's 90% men, you are going to see more bouncing boobs than hanging dongs.  I would assume that more and more women are starting to play games, so you'll probably going to see more of this stuff.

  • hundejahrehundejahre Member Posts: 339

Far too many post to read them all, so here's my take. In a single player game with the appropriate warnings and ratings, I could not care less. In an MMO where some 15-19 year old asshat is going to run around jumping his package into peoples faces... I'll pass.

The sexual harassment I see all the time in MMOs is bad enough without giving folks the tools to make it worse.

There is NO way to put nudity in an MMO without it becoming sexualized by at least some of the players, I mean come on, we live in a world where the word "rape" has somehow become an acceptable slang term (except in my guild where I'll kick you without warning). What do you think it'll be like when not only can the guy kill you in PvP, he can graphically violate you too. How many of you women who are saying it's no big deal now are going to complain then?

There is no room for nudity in an MMO unless it's an MMO based on nudity and sex and you know that going in to it.

For the record I have no problems with nudity in general, but putting it in the hands (pun intended) of a raging, socially inept, seventeen year old boy will not make for a good time for all.

  • RhenkarRhenkar Member UncommonPosts: 68

As long as it's rated appropriately, I see no reason why there shouldn't be any adult only games.

Violence is already over the top.  There's tons of places for digital distribution.  So what if gamestop or amazon or "heaven" forbid, WALMART,  won't carry it, guess what...maybe Steam or someone else will.

Look on the bright side, if it's in an MMO, you can make yourself bigger than you really are.  Fantasize a little.  Or maybe that female could make a man and stare at it all day like many men have done to various pixelated avatars for many years while running down a field staring at a shaking rump.

Who cares if there's penises, futanari, tentacle action, I don't freaking care.  There's heads getitng chopped off, eyeballs flying all over, guts, brains, and all kinds of whack crap.  Just look at manhunt.  Yet there can't be some sexual organs and/or actions because of society's own repression and immaturity?

    Please.

The porn industry is gigantic.  If anyone thinks for one second that a sex-based MMO, or at least one that had full scale nudity on both sides of the spectrum as well as a high social atmosphere, wouldn't be highly popular, you're out of your mind.

I'm surprised no one has capitalized on this actually by now.  Graphics are good enough where it would get plenty of people going bonkers.

You can bet your bottom dollar that when some form of virutal reality comes out akin to the Matrix in William Gibson's world or in Shadowrun (which rips a lot off from Gibson, but I digress), that sex will be one of the major drawing points of it.  Just like the internet is now.

Just look at all those advances in robotics with female robotic wives over in Japan.  You think they're just going to make tea?

And for those that like to clamor and knock all of this, that's fine.  There's plenty of women out there for you, and hey, more for you if some "nerd" is going at it with a robot chick or some Twi'lek in Virtual Reality land.

I've seen this a lot and I think certain people are in denial and somewhat afraid of what the future will bring.

I, on the other hand, can't wait!

Agree completely. This is 1 of the things that's so very wrong with society (at least most western societies), these ridiculous, insane double standards.

Consider the appearance of so many of the female avatars in so many games, with the outrageously over done massive breasts, there would be riots in the streets (and immediate congressional action!) if a game did something similar with the bulges on the male avatars. It's all very juvenile.

1st: The poll up there was meant to over exagerate the matter. If you cannot understand such easy thing I don't see why you should post.

2: Do I associate sexual organs with sex.....do I have to point out that in the expression "sexual organ" the word "sex" appears. Should I highlight it for you? What else can you do with a penis beside pee, masturbate, and reproduce with a female? If your answer is: modeling building and hamburgers....you have issues (Puppetry Of The Penis parody). Of course people will associate penis with sex  regardless of who you are (may it be an animal or human (excluding birds and most type of insects and microscopic creatures)), sex is the only way to reproduce. Basic Knowledge.

Of course the Penis also represents the male. Best exemple is the David by Michael Angelo (I could also mention a few statues made during the greek empire which also shows both naked man and woman). They of course symbolize the 2 respective gender.

As for my point about sex in video games such as  GTA, I'm only saying that the GTA concepters are slowly turning GTA into a FFA Sex In The City. They just keep adding controversial stuff. And as I already said, I'm not actually affected by this "controversial stuff" as I don't really care. What I care about in this topic is the ignorant answers people post (religion, etc) BUT, unlike other members who reply to them with stupid content, I take notice of them and am still able to understand why they prefer not to have a penis in GTA, it's completly understandable (and I shall remember that I do not care if there's some penis in the game, what I care about is the fact that the game is slowly changing from the original GTA  and that's the bad thing).

OMG a computer created penis! God is going to kill us all with his never ending rage.... and the probably forgive us with his never ending love.

Good thing we all, human beings, are all androgenous and we don't have such ofensive parts as pennis and vaginas.

BTW, the guy's dick is not that big.

And last thing is, to the people who find this ofensive, you either don't have something hanging from your pubis (cause you are a girl) or you don't look at it and pay atention to it often. (in case you are a girl you should pay atention to it too).

Its there, is part of your body, and it has 2 usefull functions. So love your penis or vagina, because it is yours, and you are born with one, so... its kinda natural, you know?

Mods, if you are going to edit this for words like dick or whatever you edit, could you at least leave the joke about us bieng adrogenous? :)

I've been around the interwebs.  I've seen my share of porn. Who hasn't? I even know what the reference "two girls and a cup" means, although I haven't seen it. But I did not even know there was such a thing as futanari.

Of course sex sells and there will always be a market for just about any sort of porn, including MMORPG porn. Heck, people cyber in WoW and other games already, everyone knows that.

There are MMORPG porn worlds already. Sociolotron has been around for a long time, although the grapnics are dated. I've never played it, but I knew it was there. Also most people have heard of Red Light Center. Second LIfe  from all reports has every sort of sex you can imagine, although the one that gained them most attention was the Furry community.  I'm sure there are others. So  people are capitalizing on this already, and I"m sure you'll see evem more in the future, maybe even futanari.

And the problem with yours is that you are assuming that society and its pandering to the masses is always right. If there weren't people that pushed the envelope, much of the western world would still be seperated by nobility and peasentry and under the control of a ruling family. We'd still all be not having sex before marriage, sexuality would not be embraced in liberal society, and you would not have freedom of speech or human rights. You would not have the right to defend yourself if sentanced, women would still be downtrodden in much of the world, and you definitely wouldn't be able to voice your opinions on an international forum like the internet. Hell, if you were caught on the internet, you'd probably be burnt at the stake for witchcraft.

Pushing the envelope is a dirty job, but someone's gotta do it. I, for one, welcome our new polygonal penis overlords.

1- I don't know it your a parent or not, how the hell am I baiting you?  Apparently I seriously insulted you and you do have your six year-old alone on the internet.

2- You strayed off of topic because:

A- You talked about a guy infront of your house and not a video game.

B- Brought up a situation that has nothing to do with having your child playing an online game.

C- I could also bring up the fact you brought up the lame "What about the poor children, think of the children debate" but I followed your train derailment so that would be hypocritical of me.  This thread was about your interest in seeing genitalia, not your children.

3- I did not mention porn sites kiddo.  You think active pedophiles look for kids on porn sites or do they go to sites where children are?  There are probably tons of pedophiles at CHILDREN'S websites like their are tons of pedophiles who are drawn to schools, youth camps, and youth sports.

4- I am offended by people who have the need to put this anti-illegal alien crap everywhere.  I am offended by people who prefer the Cubs over the White Sox.  I'm offended by video games that spit on those Veterans who lost their lives in war by turning the conflict they died in to a money making FPS.

What the hell does you or I being offened have to do with any dammed thing?  If you are offended do like I do with WWII, WWI, Vietnam War, etc FPS games, DON'T BUY EM.  If you are offended by something you see on TV, IGNORE IT or shut the TV OFF.  If you are offended by other people, WELL THAT IS LIFE, DEAL WITH IT.  Just because you or I am offended, that is not a just reason for censorship.

And I am going to buy a giant statue of a penis just to tick you off

Once again I am baffled by the utter incomprehension and deviations you undertake to validate your point. And like you suggested, I'll just turn this conversation "off". Enjoy your penis! You've earned it.

Do you want to see a big penis in your MMORPG? Or do you just want little anime girls with big swords and a thong? Is this a double standard, or the way it should be?

I've seen the sexy girls in armor in MMO's threads here. What if there were a male penis' in MMO's thread? How would you like that? I"m thinking not so much.
Edit: The link above is totally work safe. It's a link to an article by MSNBC. No pictures of big penises.

You have issues, and apperantly with Giant Penises because you watch porn. One video is enugh to make you psycho, that's why I don't watch.

I don't find you amusing or this thread.

How would you feel if your 6 year old kid was looking out the window and you wondered what was so interesting... you go see and lo and behold there's a naked man on your front lawn. Would you call the cops or applaud him for his "artistic expression"?

    Here.. lemme "face plam' ya

.... Seriously? Like honestly? No one thought to mention "hey how about this then? how about a naked guy on the lawn and a fully clothed guy shooting people with a shotgun on the street? Which would you tell the cops about?". Come on, if you say you would tell them about the naked guy, then you are one sick mother. Or maybe you'd like to commend him for his "genocidal expression"? Do you see the point? Or do I have to spell it out for you? Apparently murder is a-ok but nudity is gonna make your kids crazy .

    here... lemme face "plam ya"

P.S. I would be more worried about a random clothed guy standing on my lawn tbh, at least I know the naked guy is either a loonie or had some bad luck, who the hell knows what the clothed guy's thinking. I mean hell, people don't make it a habit of standing on other people's lawns.

P.P.S. Seeing as I had good parenting, despite the fact that I've been seeing mass murder and nudity on tv quite often, I'm not a psychopath (I hope....). So deal with it, learn to take proper care of your kid.

If there's a naked person on my front lawn it's probably me, so no I'm not calling the cops.

It hasn't been 90% in quite a while. lol See that is part of the problem right there. Even though there have been countless surveys that show our numbers increase every year and we continue closing the gap, many people still like to believe that we basically don't exist in gaming.

Did you know over 30% of WoW's players are women? And our numbers are continously growing in other mmorpgs and other types of games? During the past several years we have seen a huge influx of female gamers, we've seen all-female clans/guilds, we've seen some truly ELITE female gamers (including some pros) enter the community, etc... Game companies need to wake up to the new reality of gaming. We're here to stay and they should focus some of that attention on us, instead of just the 14 year boys.

EDIT: According to a survey administered by Entertainment Software Association (ESA) the average age of video game players are now around 35. Another sudden new change in the community is that 38 percent of all gamers are women. In fact between the ages 25 to 34 women outnumber men by 65 percent.

    I rest my case....

bad idea to have this minimized with just part of the title showing saying "do you want a big penis in your.."

    Here we go again . . .

I am not going to bash religion but it is the root of most of the censorship issues of today.  Even though sexual relations and appearances of a naked human are completely natural it has been painted as a sin and should be covered up.  Until humanity, as a whole, can grow up and accept their sexuality it will always be seen as a taboo to some.

I for one do not mind full frontal nudity of either sex and if done tastefully can be a form of art.  This is the other issue, nudity in video games is as disgraceful as it can ever be.   When developers figure out how to make nudity art is when we will see more of an acceptance.  Until then look forward to the same childish snickering and hateful grimaces.

    It's a Jeep thing. . .

I don't want big penises or little girls in thongs in my MMORPGs. Women in thongs though I am all for. But still NO PENISES.
