To me, its just the fact that they are trying to make the game more realistic. I mean, haven't you ever played a game where day in and day out your person is wearing the SAME thing, and it never seems to change?

If they didnt have this, or didnt have the extent of realism that they do have in the game, then people would be complaining about how there is no customization or anything to differentiate people from people.

Well on the level of sexy looks, I can understand that female players would like to finally see an MMO where the male avatars look just a sexy as the female ones.
We can all agree on that so far in almost all MMO's the female avatars run around half naked wiht big boobs, while our male avatars are covered in full plate. Especially the Asian MMO's go pretty far in that.
So looking from that perspective then yes, the balance is a bit out of wack and can understand that quite some MMO's are a bit female player unfriendly.

Consider, for example, how a lot of TV programs don't have the content warnings that they ought to. Or just look at Waterlily's posts on this thread. If a game has some nudity and is rated M with the warning that it has nudity, that is one thing. If the game ratings lack that warning, it's a problem.
4. In most MMORPGs, players go out and engage in combat, both killing monsters and dying at their hands. Going to war naked looks really, really dumb. Going to war in a t-shirt and shorts looks dumb for about the same reason, even if there's no nudity involved. Characters fighting a war should wear something that looks like it could plausibly be functional armor in that war. That doesn't necessarily mean a medieval suit of armor; soldiers fighting in modern wars wear a lot less than that because it would obstruct their mobility. If characters in safe areas of town want to wear lighter clothing, so be it.
5. Regarding taking offense at content, I think focusing on what is depicted misses the point. Rather, the relevant thing to consider is what the game advocates. A game where players kill people who are trying to conquer and/or destroy the world because that is the only way to stop them is not at all morally equivalent to a game where players wander around killing innocent people for no real reason in particular.

As long as the rating is right it shouldnt be much of a problem. Kids have pretty much always found ways to find "adult materials" anyway.
