You sincerely don't know why they can't do that? If they can't have open sale, how the hell do you think they could have free trial?
What is your own estimate of your IQ?
I can think of many reasons they don't want a full-release.
1. They can't even handle one server, and don't have the team to support two.
2. The game is so bad, allowing it to be purchased by those with reminaing F5 keys would truly overrun the fanboi's spew of trash and the game would go down as history (quicker) as the worst MMO ever.
3. They don't have enough money because their product sucked. This is accompanied by the fact that Tasos is an complete idiot and lied repeatedly about how good his game is.
Probably more, but I'll be nice.
All is wrong.
1. There are many players online (NPC cities are completely full)
2. No it isn't. If you didn't try the game, shut your mouth - which you should maybe do more often
3: The game is pretty good, but there is still plenty to be improved - like all other newly released games
They are working on the game, and when it gets further in the process, it will be released on more servers, and eventually it will have open sales.
If you don't believe this, then don't. I don't really care.
I was in the beta test, the game is shit. It has almost nothing that was part of the "feature" list.
Player skill PvP? Nope, its all about macroing and potions.
Amazing AI for the PvE mobs? Nope, the few PvE mobs in game are dumb as hell.
Player choice? Nope, you have to train a bunch of skills you may or may not want to get to the stuff you want. that is not player choice.
The game is a joke, it is a piece of crap and all of you that pay to play this piece of crap are what is wrong with the MMO genre. Players are willing to pay for a company to finish the game.... Its beyond stupid.
Do not tell me I do know what I am talking about, I used to defend this game, I used to think that Darkfall was going to be the next great MMO but after my time in game, I will never spend a dollar on this game. It is a broken, hack fest, no skill PvP game. (Marco's are cheating and almost everyone that has a high skill level afk macro's)
Usually I don't do this but I will do it in this instance:
I bet if the reviewer played 3 minutes or 2 hours and gave a great score tasos would have kept his mouth shut.
And I am certain that Tasos--who's reputation for spin, missinformation, and unprofessionalism over the years--would never manipulate the reviewers login logs. We should take Tasos' word for it. Because after all these years through DF's developement Tasos has built a very high level of trust with his potential customers.
The guy's an idiot. He should have just ignored the Eurogamer Review. If the review is actually full of lies and missinformation it will be proven in time--I do, however, note that after this review appeared many people who had played the game made posts that readily agreed with it. By lowering himself to confront the reviewer Tasos proves once again how unprofessional he is and what a lousy company AV is.

That's not playing to me but that is the only way to make any progress in Darkfall because it is the best way to level and the other "hardcore" players are doing it, so to keep up, you will need to do it.
Were is the player skill? Macro gathering and then Macro potion making and boom, you win every fight or can run from any fight.
Were is the player choice? I have to skill up tons of spells I do not want just to get one I want. how is that player choice. I mean after all this is a sandbox game right? So why does the player have to follow the same path as everyone else to get to the magic schools?
Instead of making a one line post that makes no sense, why not debate with me. Show me what I have wrong and I will be happy to admit I am wrong.
This has got to be one of the most unprofessional moves I have ever seen a dev publicly make. Attack the reviewer based on the score they give? Wow. Try to negate their credibility based on so-called "server logs"? So what, they were monitoring their play in order to unfluence the score? That's absolutely bottom-of-the-barrel pathetic. Tasos should be embarrassed.
What is unprofessional, is releasing a review that has no basis in reality - and then make it a slamming review.

Are you even consciously aware that you’re typing? Do you understand what a review is? Roger Ebert doesn’t sit down and watch the first 5 minutes of a movie and then review it, you know why? Because he would lose his job. Darkfall being a good, or a bad, game has nothing to do with the fallout this review is receiving. The topic of conversation is that the review is a sham.
You know I suppose it’s time I stop expecting so much from people. This idiot from eurogamer reviews a game without playing it, then people here try to justify it by saying the game was bad. Ok, so the game is bad. Doesn’t warrant a smear article in the guise of a review.
Look... Darkfall didn't live up to its hype in my book, but it is neither a great nor a bad game. No game deserves a score of 2 unless it is a game that was so horrible nobody would be willing to play it. It was a poor review.

<9000 wouldn't be something I would consider people "willing" to play.

Roger Ebert is also not above personally slamming whiny people who complain about bad reviews and telling them their film sucks:

why not? That's more people on a server than WoW. BTW, where did you get that number? How do you know its not 30,000 people with 10,000 people active? You don't.

I'm pretty close. How do I know? Because I have the facts.

Patrick Goldstein and Roger Ebert both watched the movie before they said it sucked.
I watched the movie, it did suck. If, however, Patrick Goldstein or Roger Ebert had written a review about Deuce Bigalow and in that review stated that it was about a talking pig who befriends a spider in an attempt to keep said pig from being sent to the slaughter house. I would have been just as offended at the lack of integrity as I am here about the Darkfall review.

You can't get started, because there is nothing to start about. No inaccuracies, but a whole lotta fail coming from Darkfall.
Head over to the DF boards, they have already slammed the review enough.
Factual errors happen from the first line to the last.
There, I did half of your homework for you. Can you do the rest and go read on DF boards yourself? Or are you too lazy to do that as well?
Reposting on next page. I hate to get the last post on a page.
It's not laziness, it's:
a) Not wanting to dive into the shithole known as the Darkfall official boards.
b) The fact you're meant to support your bloody arguments, instead of expecting your opponents to do it for you.

I do.

The most hillarious part of Tasos's answer is where he pretends all other DFO reviews have been... GOOD so far!!!
He was known as a liar, he only confirms it everytime he writes something new.

Tasos lies about his own game.
I'm supposed to find him more credible then the reviewer?
Mob AI that live in the world, and skill up along with the players?
Dynamic mob spawns?
A intuitive and limitless item creator?
Rough seas and fog?
A feature complete and ready to releae game that adds art assets, magor balance fixes, and quests two months after release?
Tasos is as big a liar as the he claims the reviewer is.
