Look, I was as up in arms about this review as anyone. If you go back to the first 17 or so pages you will see that, but let it go for a while. Eurogamer is doing a second review. Let the second review get done and go from there.
Who gives a shit, really. EG are fucking hacks and tacos is a fucking tool that sold many a bill of goods. I still enjoy darkfall, but for this review by a retard to get exposure is assenine and for av responding to it, just accentuates their dumbeness.
Originally posted by Rabidaskal I'd agree if he was just another gamer, but he was doing a REVIEW. Its his freaking job to play thru the game. But apparently some ppl (not you sky) think that 5 MINUTES is enough time to review a game, if after 5 minutes they hate it. That's like reviewing a car based on looks rather than actually driving it. Not a fanboi, never played DF, but cmon how can ppl defend this review.
NOW ITS 5 minutes. SPECTACULICIOUS
Nice use of word creation there...I particularily like to use the word CRAPTASTIC to describe Darkfall hehe.
I am not commenting on the game or the review. I find it very unprofessional that Tasos posted that message. A developer attacking a reviewer (even if the reviewer is a complete idiot) and revealing information about an account is one of the worst thing a game developer can do. I do realize that much of what Tasos writes is correct, but it is not proper for a developer to do that. It would be like someone at Bethesda/Capcom (or whoever) saying the reviewer of at such and such is a idiot and a liar. That kinda just rubs me the wrong way as it comes off looking like a group of whiny little turds. A professional company that felt they were wronged by a reviewer would release a statement or post a message fixing the contradictions, but would not attack the reviewer and call them a liar. Post the corrections explain but do not give out account information to prove your point nor should you attack the reviewer. You would think that Tasos and everyone over there would have grown some tough skin do to the amount of dislike/hate this game get, but no they act like a little kid.
I disagree 100%. If all developers did this then reviewers would take their time and actually do a decent job in giving games a fair chance before reviewing. Too many idiotic reviews out there on all games (not just mmos).

You realize that this would be a censorship system where only positive reviews would be tolerated? Your opinion of what is idiotic or not doesn't matter. What about you act like a mature adult, and if you think it's idiotic, just ignore it?

You can't write a review for darkfall with only 2 hours of game. Is not some puzzle casual game you play on your browser!.
To *see* the game, you need to play enough to join a guild and fight in a city attack, use a ship, etc... the real activities of the game. The "killing goblins in newbie town" is not what the game is about. Making a review about this thing is foolish, and make the reviewer looks like a total idiot.
No Review can be written with only an hour in-game. This isn't MineSweeper or Checkers, this is a broad multu layer complexity. You could play and review Barbies Dreamhouse for 10 minutes and write a horrible review and I wouldn't hear a word of it, theres no integrity in that.
Keep up mate, the 1-3 hour thing is soooo yesterday. He spent 9 hours on the game
I don't get on these forums much anymore, but after reading his review, he bypassed a number of "core" features of the gameplay, so for spending 9 hours in game he really didn't do his job in-game. Not to mention his time in game has been contested, and at this point i don't know who to trust, tasos, or this ridiculous reviewer. Both of them seem fairly shady to me. All I know is that I don't trust that review, its biased and demeaning, not worthy of publication from any respectable review site. Every game, even bad ones deserve a fair chance regardless of what oddjob would say.
This amuses me to no end. In fact, Darkfall has truly become the digital equivalent of a geek soap opera.
The funny thing is, besides the ravenous haters and fanboys, very few people even care about Darkfall.
The poor decisions by Darkfall management have become almost legendary; while I've thought about trying the game a few times, I can't see any future for it when there is such terrible communication and pettiness from the owners/managers of the game.
For those of you who are enjoying the game, best of luck and I hope it holds your interest as it (hopefully) evolves into something more than it is today.

I don't know anything about the Eurogamer reviewer but I wouldn't trust Tasos. If you consider all the BS he was spewing during the game's development and after the game "launched," trusting Tasos is not a good idea. Also, judging by the way Tasos acted after a bad review... Well, that's just a lot of lols.
That being said, I would like to see someone with a bit more credibility review this game.

You'll have to excuse me for not taking anything keen and graev say at face value. Those are the same guys who couldn't figure out how to play AoC when it first came out, just read their earliest AoC reviews. Not that I'm a huge fan of AoC, mind you.
Either way, like I said before, Tasos holds no credibility with me because he's a liar and the Eurogamer guy, I have no idea who he is and as such don't know how credible he is.
So as far as I'm concerned, we're esentially deadlocked. On one side we have a shameless liar who will say anything to show his game in a good light and on the other hand we have some unknown reviewer. So who wins?
Nobody wins. Although I can tell you who lost. Tasos, for acting like a little bitch after a bad review.
