I tried playing it once, all I remember was the game consists of doing 20 warps to get to a destination then killing a pirate for a quest and repeating it. Stupid bullshit & waste of time.
And the RL limits on everything are stupid, people shouldn't have to wait a year of RL time to build up skills. Fucking hjorrible game
Eve is not a game for a person that think Time invested should mean your overpowered.
This is how you think, Eve is not the game for you.
I also understand that if a game isnt for you, you actually call it a shitty game lol.
What I would like to ask you is what do you play?
You're not one of those grumpy bastards that harp on EQs pvp server all day and play nothing right?
If so why are you here?
EQs PvP servers were legendary. MMOs these days are pathetic newbie-catering bs.
And yes, I think EVE sucks. Who wants to wait a year of RL time to get a huge ship? That seems like a bigger time investment than games like WoW even. Hell, even Everquest only took 2 months to reach the max level, and at least it wasn't boring run-around shit like EVE is.

You really try too hard.
I find you hilarious tbh.
Also im sorry but normal mortals did not level in EQ to cap in two months lol
Your a tremendously Hardcore dude. Eve is not your style because everyone skill trains at the same speed in Eve and harcore guy like yourself that power grinds to cap in two months has an incredible advantage over regular players.
That advantage you like is impossible in Eve, so its no surprise that you hate it.

I don't see how EVE doesn't have a time investment component. It's there, but it's just a different form. Instead of being able to plow through content at whatever pace you want, it forces you to take several years to do it. So they get more sub $
MMOs need to have some time investment requirement to become OPed. I don't even see the point of an MMORPG where everyone is equal regardless of how long they played. I don't want to play an MMO where a level 1 can take on a level 80 or a level 80 with crappy molten core gear can beat someone in full naxx.
You have to spend SOME time to raid & kill endgame content, it seems ridiculous that some newbie who never killed one endgame boss should be on the same level as someone who farms it.
Also I think it's ridiculous how people talk about how there are certain classes of players who are just purely time based and are in reality newbies who can't compete on the same level. That's just bullshit. It's just that in games like EQ you could be ridiculously overpowered, you can't do that in almost all other MMOs because they are too casual and like to cater to newbies who suck too much to beat the end-game. This includes WoW, which is too balanced and doesn't give guilds a strong incentive to go after the end-game content. If it were more unbalanced I think more guilds would have beaten their end-game sooner.

LOL! who told you it took a year to get into a big ship?
You seem not to know much about the game. This why im trying to avoid this conversation. You didnt like the skills over time system and the long travel times and you decided to call it quits.
That's fine.
You don't really know anything about eve so in order to have this conversation I would have to educate you first. Really it would be a waste of time.
Would you even bother with a discussion about EQ with me if i only played it for two weeks ran around for 10 mins then told you it was a terrible game? Nope.

All I can say to you is its not for everyone.
True, I only played it for like 5-10 days. But there were no levels, and it took several days to do skill ups, wtf.
Even so, you only need to play it a couple days to realize how the game works. You have to spend more time to get skill-ups than you would in any other MMORPG. We aren't immortal, not everyone has a year of RL time to wait for skill-ups or whatever.
Long travel times aren't bad btw. But when everything looks the same it's kind of bs. Like in EVE you don't even know what zone you are in half of the time, you have to look to see what zone you are in. In other MMOs you can recognize things at least.
EQ was known for its long travel times, I didn't mind running from akanon to qeynos, or w/e. The zones were at least somewhat distinct.
And yeah, I'd have to play EVE for a couple years to know anything about it apparently.

Thats one of the problems with Eve, You cant do jack shit the first few days except light mining, missions and pvp(if your lucky).
Thats ultimately why Eve fails to hold a larger number of trial accounts because the god damn game becomes Epic way down the road.
Right now in Eve im a covert Ops specialist. The roles I preform are impossible to know about until you are pretty deep into the game. I have ships that stealth, locate wormholes, mission sites and I could eve get behind enemy lines and warp a whole bunch of ships into enemy territory so we could really mess people up.
Eve is also pretty hardcore people have lost years of progress in Eve, its not your average carebear game.
Ill agree the skills overtime system is one of the reason Eve only has 300k players and a million. But once you get around that its quite enjoyable.
What do you guys think? Do you enjoy Endgames the way they are? Do you have any suggestions on how to make endgames less like a repeatable grind? Know how to avoid the bait and switch?
I don't think I've bothered with the end game of an MMO in years. The last time I did, which was when I went on a couple of Hamidon raids in City of Heroes, I decided then and there I would never bother with raiding again. It bores me to tears.
Typically, when I hit max level in a game, that's when I start doing other things. Maybe I go and try my hand at PvP, or work on crafts, or some other kind of achievement like the badges in CoH. Or maybe I just go back through the world and explore parts that I missed the first time around because I was so focused on playing through. I'll also make new characters and try out different classes to see if I like them enough to play through to the end.
