What I hear from the grapevine, this game is riddled with bugs. Of course, I never got a chance to play the game personally but being so close to release and my sources telling me there are core issues that no MMO should be having, kinda makes me want to back up for a minute and wait.
MMOs Played: I can no longer list them all in the 500 character limit.
Well, it is always POSSIBLE for a game to dethrone WoW, and it COULD be Champions Online. I'm going to be playing it myself. However, I don't think it will. due to it being a more niche genre, superheroes and such. But one never knows.

It may not be the measure of all gaming, but it is the champ in sub's and mainstream appeal. So though you don't like it, it remains valid.
The irony is the level of complaints coming from present players. In the General Section there is a thread about Best and Worst Gaming Communities, WoW, to no surprise is unanimous in the worst community category. At times you almost get the impression that people play WoW simply because nothing draws a crowd like a crowd, not exactly the measure for good gaming.

....god why does someone always post these threads? lolol Kill WoW..Kill Aion..psh..chances are small to not a chance. Its a niche game and while I like Champions even im not deluded enough to hype it that high.
Champions Online will be a small niche just like City of Heroes was. How on earth does one even begin to think it could touch WoW?
It doesn't offer open world PVP. WoW at least has this much. CO alienated their PVP audience by only offering small little arenas. CO also alienated a great portion of their PVE audience by the inclusion of Microtransactions
They really don't even believe in their own product since their offering a $200 lifetime sub.
The original poster just couldn't have been serious lol
I'm interested in CO but I have no grand illusion it will be the next 'big' thing. I only expect it to entertain me for a couple of weeks at best
This will not be a WoW Killer. Nonetheless, I am excited about it. Open Beta starts August 17th. I'm counting the hours. Finally, I can form my own opinion about it rather than listen conflicting arguments.
I am sick of the WoW Killer threads, and I'm sure alot of people share this opinion. I don't remember who, but someone said something utterly perfect about the death of Wow and the cause. The cause of death of WoW will be WoW. Because as technology grows, games will become more advance, more updated, and WoW will soon be outpaced by technology. If Anything kills WoW, it will be its aging system and graphics. It will remain the same, while we (Of all ages) as gamers grow and become more sophisticated in what we want from MMOs. And eventually, we will grow out of WoW just as the technology grows beyond it as well.
Champions Online is a great game, I have already bought a lifetime subscription and I'm sure it will do well.
Will it kill WoW? No. The idea of any one game killing another is rediculous, aside from direct upgrades (ie SWG to SWoTOR). The very idea of a "WoW-killer" is a stupid idea. Stop trying to dredge up bullcrap like this. Grow up people.
If you like superheroes, you'll love Champions Online. If you like fantasy settings you'll probably still play WoW. If you like both, you can easily play both. They can exist together just like CoH and WoW did.

playing the beta and can say... well Im 99% sure this is not going to bring down any big mmo titles. I can also say that CoX fans will be pleased. Further more, it needs a lot of work. Ask me and Il tell you the game is nowhere near launch. It focuses on solo gameplay rather then group gameplay and since theres no classes dont expect any cordination when you actually do get a team, its basicly a killingfest.
It has some very interesting game mechanics though such as active block and interesting MOB attacks involving build ups in which you must block to escape massive damage or theyl hold you down and you have to break free(in different with most MMOs were mobs just have 1 attack).
With that being said though its not as good as CoX. Maybe in a couple years... who knows
I'm in the beta but it doesn't really feel like anything special. Can't say anything due to the NDA, obviously, but yeah it didn't catch me the same way Aion did. Of course that may be up to total personal preference.
I'm on the flip side, being in both betas. Aion got boring and CO won out. It surprised me more than anyone.

You might not like it, but yeah... thats pretty much the case.

I think Shadowbane will kill WOW.
Nope it won’t. It’ll probably garner 125k-150k. 250k, or at a very generous 500k max in continued subs.
(500 is highly unlikely though)
WoW has tournaments over it, is a continuation of an IP, and has multi-million copy sellers to its company’s name.
There are too many reasons, both sometimes hidden and exhaustive, to recount of Blizzard’s success.
Long story short, I seriously doubt it as I doubted with Age of Conan.

Naw, most of the WoW players are idiots who wouldn't know a good game if it bit them in the ass, why else do they play wow?
CO won't kill anything, its just COH with better graphics
WOW ...

There will never be a wowkiller so just stop mentioning it.
Never say never.
Champions dont have to try to kill wow, WoW is killing itself....
WEll Champions is getting ready to hit on Monday and I am going to go out on a limb with a prediction.
CO will kill AION! IT will erode WoW over the months and slowly kill it due to the fact that word of mouth will spread about how good the game is.
lol, hilarious thread.

people should realize by now, NOTHING will "kill wow" except wow and it is dying, slowly for sure but its on the decline.
WoW killer?

Nightelves and twirling Bloodelves are far more effeminate than anything you'll find in CO... just saying ;-b
