I call that a BS. I was playing as a mirdain with a couple of noobs when a single red poped in - 4 shotting a noob. We tried to fight, we tried to melee, we tried to cast spells, I hit him 4 times and got just a hair of his HP. He 4 shoted me and kept farming us until we all quit. he was farming to stop being red. Apparently, its easier to farm noobs then vets. So all of you who QQ and dont want noobs to get their skills faster are the ones who like easy noob farming. Heres a thought, those other 3 noobs in my party aint gonna buy the game. I won't either. Thats 4 players less for DF.

I will say to you QQers who cry whenever noobs want a fair chance to fight off - you are the true carebears, you cry because they will take your godmode away from you. You cry now and you will cry later when there is no1 left to farm on. Then you will cry how "carebears", "WoW" and Barak Obama ruined DF.

I think pvp games are just not your cup of tea

Judging by your post content id have to say you and your friends got 4 shotted not because the guy was tougher(altho that might have been the case) but rather that youre not all that bright and played badely.

Your math skills are bright... Gee, let me count on my fingers... When I do 8-9 dmg per hit and the guy does 50... hmmm... yeah I guess its my bad skills that got me 4 shotted. And they guy was moving real fast...his sprint/run was probably maxed out... Hmmm, yeah its my fault too. Im sorry I even tried to fight him off.

Wrong. I love PvP games. But I love FAIR PvP games. Planetside, Counterstrike, GuildWars, WoW - some of those game's PvP may not be the best, but they all have fair PvP - meaning you PvP when you are ready for it. You don't get griefed if you do not want to PvP.

I could care less about what actually happened. All I need to do is read your posts and post history to figure out the guy being maxed anything, was not the deciding factor of why you all got beat.

Well... +++ for a comedic opening statement and for setting the tone of the rest of your post.

If you were to read my post history, you'd find that I am *far* from even being a "fan" of AV, much less a "plant" for them.

Just ask Darth, or daarco, or Ruyn or any of a number of people here if I'm a "plant for AV".

Sorry charlie but you'll end up all alone in your selfish universe of uber-power so you can feel superior to newbs.

    Selfish universe of uber-power...?

Sweet stupefying strawmen, Batman. What the hell are you going on about?

Show me one statement in my entire post where I'm arguing in favor of "feeling superior to newbs". Here's a hint to help you out: You won't find one.

I started playing about 3-ish weeks ago, my highest skill is, I think, 30-something. Yeah... "uber power" indeed.

In fact, I will likely *never* be as powerful as the most powerful players in the game, nor do I care either way. Why? Becuase, like daarco, I don't care about being all-powerful. I only care about logging in and having fun with whatever I choose to do.

You actually are saying that casuals can log on and kill goblins for 3 hours a day and have fun in what was SUPPOSED to be  a PVP game?

See... there's a few problems with your logic, and they're demonstrated in that question.

First of all, I'd say a casual absolutely can log in to any game and enjoy themselves. The trick is to set realistic expectations and enjoy whatever they're doing in that 3 hours to make it worthwhile. If you can do that, then you can enjoy any MMORPG at a casual pace. Maybe *you* personally can't, but that's your business. There are others who can and do.

Second, if killing goblins for 3 hours is the extent of what your imagination can conjure up in a MMO, then I think that says it all about why you would make such a statement. There's a variety of things I do in DF, and none of them entail "standing around killing goblins for 3 hours".

Third, as has been indicated before... Darkfall is a sandbox MMO *with* PvP as a core activity. PvP is not *the* sole activity. It might be all you're personally interested in, and that's fine. But to argue that it's a PvP MMO and *that's it*, is disingenuous.

    Seriously ...nice try.

    Seriously... Likewise :)

Vets farming noobs and preventing them from having a good time was not in the game description. If you don't find this fact wrong, you are one of those vets who grief others, who do not want a fair PvP, who want to kill noobs that have no chance of fighting back. Griefing is bad in ANY game, including in DF.

If you do not like killing goblins don't do it. You don't need to spend much time at all before you can go out and PvP. From day 1 there are other people out there at your level.

Also, stats don't make much difference at all. I think people just need to stop grinding if it's so boring. That's what I did.

I dont find this fact wrong at all.  I have played for about 6-ish weeks, so youre ridiculous assumption is wrong that im a vet.  Difference between you and me is, i am not a crybaby.

Yes ive been killed many times, so what?  It is part of the game.  If you chose the game based on any of the information that was listed and didnt expect to have FFA PvP, then youre a fucking idiot.  Dont blame the game because you made a dumb decision.

This is not Quake Online,  its Darkfall Online.   The reason I raged was because I am so sick and tired of these complainers on the DFO forums asking for stat gain fixes.
The Dev's dont want everyone to reach endgame because there would be a MASS desertion due to lack of content.  This is why I ask if you have ever played an MMO before.  Because you clearly have not.  Its the same with every game,  Look at Tabula Rasa for example.  Everyone rushed to endgame and left.

The DFO devs are WAY smarter than that.

Your just QQing because if they increase stat gains, noobs will be able to catch up with macroers like you and you won't be able to 4 shot them anymore. No more easymode for u.

Can a noob die in 4 shots though? Ah, there must be some skill we have to grind to increase our health then?

I was thinking to resub on NA server is why i ask. One of these days....

4 vs 1. Tasos said that newb's would be able to take out a vet in the main website. Seem like its an other one of his lie

xxpig, DFO is broken so stop being in defense position to drop some other lie or useless posts. We outnumber you and your other vet crew that post in this forum so its not working. Go back in game and enjoy your time with the other vet players instead of trying too hard in here.

The reason why you and the others vet constantly post here to try to bring us in is because you know that the game got bad health and the amount of player DF have, it continue to decay. Every time DFO get some subs, some other player leave and it still happen teal today. Thats mean something is wrong in your game.

Anyway, il end this with all you vets are carebear, fear to get kill by us newb too fast. You dont even want us to catch up from 1 to 3 months. You dont want a cap, you dont want decay. Damn, your darkfall game is really broken because it dont have any core feature on skills and stats.

Macroing is allowed but you can only macro so many things and it is much much slower than if you played the game normally.  I had been arguing for increased skill gains in PVE since release and i'm glad they finally did that.
Stat gains are faster at low level and slow down at higher levels.  AV has been making the game easier for casuals to catch up with vets constantly and a lot of vets aren't very happy that AV had to dumb down their game so that the lazy whiners could catch up to them when they had to put 6x  more time and effort than the casuals.
Developing your character is part of the competition and these kind of games aren't as fun when progression stops for various reasons.
you stat-difference whiners are asking AV to ruin their game just like other games have been ruined because of lazy whiners wanting to be able to beat someone who has invested more time into their character.  This has happened in other games already.
you have low stats and die a lot?   suck it up like the rest of us you big baby, its your own fault for not seeing Darkfalls potential before, now you have to play catch up, deal with it or go find another easier dumbed down game that lets noobs and retards win like in WoW.  Darkfall isn't going to die because the lazy crybabies can't catch up to people have put more effort into developing their character, Darkfall will die when they piss off all the veteran players by allowing the lazy whiners to catch up to them with 10x less effort.  The vets will go to a different game when that happens.  One where they don't allow retards to compete with the best.  I never macroed melee and never bloodwalled and I have 390 hps, why would I want to continue to play a game where they keep allowing people who don't put as much time or effort into developing their char to beat me?
There are so many people who macro for months only to find out they suck at the game and that extra 50 HP cushion really doesn't do much at all when your aim isn't great.
BTW I enjoy fighting multiple enemies at a time, when you are fighting two guys at same time their HP pool and damage output is always greater than mine and it takes player skill to overcome so even tho I have more HP than both of them and do more damage than both of them I am still challenged and at a disadvantage but I still stand a chance.  If everyone can easily get 450 HPs and have same damage as I do it won't be as fun for me because although I will still be able to beat players 1v1 I will nearly always lose in 2v1 and this is a group pvp game and I like to solo so that will probably be the day I quit Darkfall.

Lol..... vets put in 6x the effort.... ive been playing since a few months before NA servers went live.... and its complete and utter bullshit...  most every1 cheated to get where they are now... (statwise).... sadly  i did too... it was practically the only way to stay with the competition

I just quit about week ago... i loved the game to death... but... eh </3

Yes ive been killed many times, so what?  It is part of the game.  If you chose the game based on any of the information that was listed and didnt expect to have FFA PvP, then youre a fucking idiot.  Dont blame the game because you made a dumb decision.

There is a difference between getting killed and getting griefed. I do not think you will be so happy to keep getting ganked over and over and over without any chance of fighting back, without any chance of getting your gear back. Getting killed and getting griefed are 2 different things.

Yup, my HP is currently 180, so when someone deals 50 dmg to me... well, 4 shots is all it takes for me to die. You can grind your way into higher HP, i think max is around 400-450. But, at the same time you have to grind other stats so basically when vet hits a vet, they do not do a full 50 dmg. But you need to raise a lot of skills and stats in order to mitigate this kind of damage. Thats why noobs stand no chance, they do not have those mitigation skills necessary to survive long enough to fight back (assuming your offensive skills are high enough to do any dmg in the first place). A noob like myself has a small chance of surviving a fight with a vet, but not winning or even posing a serious challenge. Surviving is hard too because vets have mounts and because their sprint/run speeds are faster then mine. And they have greater pools of stamina/mana.

So all those people who claim they "killed" a fully dressed vet mistook a vet for a twinked noob. You can twink your own char, but its all useless if your skills are low - you can't absorb much dmg and you can't deal out much dmg.

    Just play the game.

I was Mirdain, and half the time we'd be doing Goblins or Orcs outside of Kings Holdfast an enemy raiding party would come through.  Fun distractions and sometimes would lead to chases across the map.

Just be your character.  Don't worry about end game.

If you play smart, you can take out a vet . . . even as a new player.  I have done it, and I have had it done to me.  Use everything you have, including the surrounding environment.

SO it is DFO's fault that you suck and and did not play smart?

OK, lets assume I'm clever like you are and I can actually hit this guy 3 times more then he hits me, I hit him 12 times with 8 dmg (which will never happen, but hey, I'm freaking awesome in this game!). So, 12 hits x 8 dmg is what, 96? And he has what, 300+ hps? Thats not even a third of his hps? Or am I missing something? Is there a skill that does masive AOE dmg around me insta-killing everyone, even the trees?

Care to elaborate on HOW could I win this before getting 4 shotted? Or are you just trolling?

All this made me remember a scenario when i was in beta.

So i had like 25 on my 2 hand melee and around 25 with bow. Same for mana missile and heal. I both the masteries too. I was lucky, i killed a troll and when i full looted him, there was full of a player's loot instead. I had a full plate set and a good 2 hand sword. I also had a new bow and so much arrows. I had all that after 1 or 2 week and i started playing the day the open beta was live BTW. So i started the same time as anyone else.

Then, i was near a respawn stone, i saw a red player naked that just spawned. I wanted to kill him so i could gain some points for my good side alignment. I started with bow shots, i hardly miss and ending up fighting in melee. I then noticed that when i hit him with anything, i make him lose a very small amount of HP while him, a huge amount of HP. I was forced to run away, thank god he was naked with no bow, or i would die and lose all my lucky earned gears.

This happen after 1 or 2 weeks like i said, i started playing from the day open beta was live. So did that player macroed to be that strong so quick while naked? He didnt had a polearm, but a newb 2 hand sword.

So i guess darkfall is more about stats and so much less about player skill seriously.

Jim I understand your annoyance, but you bought a game knowing that it is FFA pvp game. This kind of situation happens in WoW, AoC or any game with pvp servers. Here at least I have some chances to dodge and run, I won't get stunned, rooted or one shooted by an assasin.

Alignment system is a joke in DF and should be replaced with system with time counter for each murder ( similar to system in MO ) .

killing goblins for nearly a year?  are you serious.

I know they are weak and can be grinded but there are way more creatures out there (which are more fun to fight too) than just goblins.

    My grind was :

Goblins - first 2 days ingame

Trolls/tougher goblins - next week or so

Clan hunts/teaming up - next 3 weeks (mostly undead style mobs with a few other large creatures in there)

    MMO wish list:

    -Changeable worlds
    -Solid non level based game
-Sharks with lasers attached to their heads

I wouldn't have a problem with this system if I new about it beforehand. Even so, some people (I don't want to call in names but you know who you are) keep insisting that newbs can kill a vet, and (*takes in a deep breath*) some even claim that PvP was NOT the main focus of DF! I wouldn't have this much issue with this if some overzealous people weren't trying to hide those fact.

I know now that DF is not my cup of tea for 2 reasons:

    - stats/skills(character skills, not player skills) matter way too much, promoting macroing and grinding. Macroers have basically godmode on, when compared to noobs;

    - open FFA PvP promotes griefing. Combine this with previous reason and you can see how this can ruin DF experience for many new players;

I liked DF for the freedom it gave me, but I hated it for the freedom it gave others to completely destroy my freedom.
