I would say your post was one of the best( May be the best) I seen to clear this out with all the postings and whines from players stating they will never catch up with the ones who been playing for years.
However ' This whine I heard from all kinds of mmorpg's
'I can't catch up with the old players they have everything, The best epic stuff there is Gold' and the list continuos.
Just trying to live long enough to play a new, released MMORPG, playing New Worlds atm

This thread has clearly died a while back but EVE is a great game and I just joined up with 5 friends maybe six months ago and we are having a blast. We are making great progress and experiencing all kinds of crazy adventures.
For the people who think that you can never catch up if you join now are just silly. EVE is a group game, as long as everyone picks a specific role it can be achieved rather quickly. Before you know it you will have a very powerful and successful group.
There are also lot's of Corps willing to train new players, these corps are what make EVE so fantastic for starting out. When a new player jumps in alone and says "I am going to trying this game out solo and if I like it I wll join a corp", these people have already chosen to dislike this game in most cases. EVE has a hard, cruel environment at first but with a little guidance the possibilities can be overwhelming.
Don't give up on EVE, just find a good Corp you can contribute to and this game will open right up and show you a whole new way to live.

In your opinion, some agree with you, many disagree
