I'm really eager to learn anything and everything about this game. My only concern is that there will be a bunch of Twilight fans rping as 'Edward n' Bella'.
Who else is excited about this title?
Any thoughts on the project? Anyone here play EVE/familiar with CCP's work? I've never tried it myself...
Anyone have any predictions about the game or know ANYTHING about it aside from CCP developing it?
All I know is if TOR let's me down, this is probably where I'll head... to Role Play as Edward [jk?]

My hopes are that it'll be too hardcore for Twilight fans. I mean, after all, CCP did create EvE.

Well I'm fairly sure it will be rated M and will feature some gory violence, sexual situations, drugs, foul language... you know, the good stuff.
It would be kind of cool if you started out as human and CAN be turned into a vampire/werewolf during the game. Or just try to survive, killing both vampires and werewolves as some sort of 'slayer/hunter'.
Of course, there'd have to be a feature where players have to consent to being 'turned' from being human, other wise a lot of people would probably get pissed.
Having a 'consent' option also works well for role play purposes... making the 'turning' like a one time big deal event in the life of your character - allowing you to tailor it to a situation you want. Basically some level of control over how/why your character is turned.

In WoD, you don't get turned into a werewolf, you're born one.
Is that so? Interesting... I've always liked the idea of being turned... Can people also be turned, or is it strictly a 'Born as a pureblood werewolf' type deal?

WoD is a PnP RPG
All the info on the lore and what not is out there, I personally don't know it, but this link should help get you started. There looks to be downloads, that will give you a more in depth look at the lore.

Humans can't just turn into Werewolfs (but well mages and vampires), they will have to be kinfolk and pretty young for that. Hunters is a good idea for a class.
There is some rumors that they will only launch with vampires and add the others in one or more expansions or patches.
As for the Twilight fans I am pretty sure at least some of them will show up, the movies and books are a rip-off of Vampire with the more adult things taken out.
And a 18 rating wont stop younger people to play, or at east it havn't in any other game.
It will be interesting to see how much PvP and PvE it will be in the game, it is made by CCP but also by White wolf, exactly how it will turn out is hard to guess.
According to CCP CEO Veigar Pétursson “with more professional males in the 25-35-year-old age range losing their jobs, he has seen the number of subscribers soar since the economic crisis began. CCP Games has been profitable since 2004, but all profits are currently invested in Eve Online and also into creating World of Darkness, a new online subscription game about vampires targeting an 18-25 year old, female demographic”.
I dont like cybering with guys, and Im not interested in RPing with "Bella" wannabes. Most likely that game will become a glorified catwalk were girls praise each others for their newly looted high heeled shoes.

I'm aware of the PnP WoD game from White Wolf... I'm just not well versed with the system. The little I do know though seems like it would lend itself very well to an MMORPG and fill a 'void', capturing the demographic which enjoys the occult/horror genre. It's only competitor would be The Secret World, I think, which also is sort of interesting. I don't know why they're targeting 'female' gamers specifically, because I think this setting fits well with both genders.

We know next to nothing about WoD.
All I know is the game will cater to the female goth crowd ala Vampire masquerade, Lost souls, Anne Rice and Twilight/vampire diaries people.
Honestly if they go a more masculine Vampire/warewolf route it would be boring.
Before anyone trashes twilight, While it may be corny its not as bad as Anne Rice and her straight up homo sexual soap opera the vampire chronicles.

As much as I would love to see this done right, I have no hope that any company would be able to meet my expectations. That being said, if I were to choose any development company, it would either be CCP or Blizzard (maybe Bioware pending SW:ToR) as my top choice for the attempt.

That's a nice opinion. I am anything but hardcore. You can hate all you want, Blizzard makes deep, timeless, highly polished games.

A game based on Vampire with only one of the PnP playable characters would be a disaster I believe.
AT the bare minimum, Humans and Vampires. Could add mages, werewolves, changlings, ect later.
MMOs Played: I can no longer list them all in the 500 character limit.

If the game is going to follow the Ip it should have a three way faction system ala DAoC.

I myself enjoyed at least the first three novels but at the same time couldn't stomach the movies.

In this day and age a very small percentage of people read books that aren't required by an educational institution.
To call anyone illiterate for enjoying a novel even if it's a horror novel is idiotic.

I've never played the World of Darkness pen and paper RPG, though I did play Hunter: The Reckoning which was a really fun game.
I thought that the World of Darkness was supposed to be all of White Wolf's RPGs (Vampire, Hunter, Mage, Demon, etc.) all in one amazing game, but I guess that isn't true if WoD is a game all its own.
Knowing White Wolf games the lore will be complex and rich, always a good thing when making an MMO (unless your developers completely squander that lore *coughSTOcough*.) The game world will be like the real world, but more atmospheric and dangerous.
Knowing CCP, the game will have an expansive game world. It wouldn't surprise me to see many zones that are large and involved. The game will be complex in game mechanics if nothing else. The game may, or may not, be a sandbox game. There's no way to tell at the moment.
Knowing EVE I have to wonder what the avatars will be like. CCP hasn't really done a "ground" game yet (though they are working on that with Incarna and DUST 514 or whatever.) So who knows what the character avatars will look like, how they will operate, or how customizable they will be. Also, the game might start out relatively small, and then build up to be something completely new and far larger than before if EVE is any indication.

In the Vampire the Masquerade lore you got embraced. But I don't know about Werewolfs never played it because I hate them. I have a few Requiem books laying around I just never got around to read the lore yet. So who knows.

CCP would be the only people I'd want doing a WoD mmo. While I could never get into being a space ship I did like complexity of EvE. It would be nice if WoD was as complex but you control an actual character . Blizz would be the last person Id want creating WoD. While so many people like there games its just not my style.
I wish posters would stop posting the nonsense below and it is complete nonsense as anyone at CCP can tell you the male demographic is still the major force in MMO's presently.

That was strictly a writers opinion, no CCP official has ever stated such.
Three faction MMOs have shown to have the best pvp so far. I hope CCP realizes that and gives us all three factions at release.
World of Darkness is based on the vampires and werewolves as we know them from prior literature, not how they have been perverted in the Twilight series. I doubt you will see many Twilight people once they realize the major differences.
That would be like trolling 4chan...
