It is in 2012 after an apocalypse.

Okay, so it's a cheaply done generic apocalyptic game then. Someone should tell Blizzard where their missing textures went.

LMAO dude,i was thinking the exact same thing :D.

I am really amazed that a game could pop out of no where and expect to sell.XSYON is a euro beat ahem musician, weird they would copy that name.

To be extremely fair to this game,it's design ideas are actually what the community have been asking for, everything from building your own towns to changing the terrain,to PVP,a world that is forever changing ,including technology advancements,it really is a brilliant idea for a game.

The draw back of course will be the developer's budget and staff. There are the cool ideas of allowing players to change the terrain, but you still need a ton of content or models/mesh/models to fill the world. The reason is that with only a few pre made models, every town can end up looking the same.

I have to actually give these guys more credit than Blizzard, these guys are at least trying to create a good game, rather than just copy and past another EQ onto us.Implementation of these great ideas will be key, unlike others who like to misuse the term"polish"i like to refer to content as advanced or complete.Anyone can take an idea and create the illusion of polish, the developer that goes that extra step to try and give the players a great game, deserves far more credit than those that polish simplified ideas.

As for this game,i can look past bugs, they really mean nothing to me as bugs can ALWAYS be fixed a poor game design can almost never be fixed. This game truly needs a free trial o some kind, they cannot possibly expect people to buy it on a whim, just not going to happen,no matter how cool their ideas are.

so wait are you saying you have seen and had 1st hand experience with blizzards new projects or are you just criticizing because they havnt overhauled the whole look of wow and rather just kept everything flowing with the look that it is. Before you just criticize Blizzard maybe you should come up with more proof as to how they are not trying to create good games. You seem to be just judging by your dislike for WOW but many people like it and it is a good game to them

Thanks to the OP, I had never heard about this game before. Sounds very interesting, and I really hope they can pull it off. Definitely going to be keeping an eye on this one.

No problem.  I wasted 8 months of my life following that disaster called Mortal Online.  This game looks promising as the features they put on the site are actually in the game and not just hype!

If true, looks like a game I'd be interested in trying out.

It depends on how much hyperbole is on their site.

Sounds like the pinnacle of every MMORPG gamer's wet dream. Only time will tell if it really lives up to that. Just by reading the feature list, I find myself interested; however, I really doubt even 25% of those things make it into the finished product.

The devs confirmed on the forums that everything on that feature list sept for the "evolution" section is 80% or more complete.. he said theres actually more features in the works but they wont put any features that arent 80% done on that list.

the game does look like a wet dream to many MMO gamers. atleast IMO

as with alot of others tho, I too am skeptical of how true it may be. no matter how much they say is there or will be there, alot of things still seem odd to me.

1- a real crappy website a week or so ago. the game has been in development for 3 years according to the devs. they couldnt put together a decent site until now? until people complain about it? anyoone who has a decent amount of knowledge about web design could put together what they have now in about a day.

2- devs have stated its in closed beta. how did they get the testers for this beta if the game wasnt even anounced yet?

3- devs state tehre is no NDA. where are these people in closed beta saying whats going on? you would have atleast seen some comments about it, good or bad. and we all know  MMO'ers arent very good at keeping secrets even with an NDA in place.

4- it may just be me, but i could have sworn i've seen some of those screen shots somewhere else recently from one of the indevelopment F2P sites. the "gang sign" shot really looks familiar

I hope to high hell the game is real and they can produce whats they're claiming. I'm just not going to be the naive SOb paying for a preorder to find out

First off; Thou shalt not take Wurm's name in vain.

Secondly; what is up with the recent hypemongering for this game? It's only been in the spotlight for about a week, since that one guy brought it up... and what's stranger is that members of this forums I had assumed could never be satisfied, or those that have opinions that are generally worthless as a whole, are all over this game. You folks know nothing about it, yet it's slowly becoming a big name around here. Then again, that's exactly what these folks do all the way up to the moment when they actually play it and declare it as the world's tallest stack of shit.

I am waiting for the complete 180 before I put any interest in this game. Once I know the retards pushing this game actually end up hating it is when I know the game *must be* good.

I'm not calling you personally a retard, though I have yet to figure if you are anti or pro MO after seeing all the static and love thrown at it by you. You treat it like a girlfriend in an abusive relationship.

Game looks really awesome. At first glance, I did not think the graphics looked that great. But after seeing the renders on the site, the game actually looked a LOT better. Not sure if the OP messed up the screenshots or perhaps used outdated renders.

Anyway, I thank the OP for making the post and will keep this game on my radar

  • DraemosDraemos Member UncommonPosts: 1,521

Worth giving a try, if for no other reason than to show a game of this nature is wanted by the community.

I posted screenshots of what was in the gallery, not sure if they posted any new ones since then.  But your welcome, this is the type of game I have been looking for, the features are actually going to be there at release compared to other games

    Taming updates... thanks Sique!

    Will multiple animals be tamable?

    Yes

Will we see mutant chicken armies?

There are no chickens in the game yet, but, this is possible.

Also, will pets suffer the same aging as characters, eventually dying of old age?

    Yes

Ok I see what it is now. I think the 1st image was pretty weak graphics wise (no fault of the OP it does match the site). But all the other images look up to par too me personally.

Sounds pretty interesting. I wonder how the aging system will work? Does your character die from old age and if so, what happens to him/her?

Isn't this the thread that was about how the OP thought the game was a scam? The first page has the same posts...

    Self promotion?

I'm still sure this game isn't real. I only stick around just to see how it all turns out.

I read that yes, you will die from old age.  But it isn't likely to be a problem anytime soon, as you only age about 1 year a month.   So chances are by the time characters are actually old enough to die(if your still playing the game)... they'll have changed their minds on the subject about a billion times.  And 95% of the player population will probably never have a character that old in the first place.

Most games that handle this subject generally allow you to carry on as the offspring of your original character, with modified stats and skills, thats just speculation though.

Zero real info on the game and you're already assuming you'd spend a year+ playing it?

Also, figure it would take 4+ real years for someone to die of old age from starting young. Will the game even be around by then?

WoW both Wurm online, and Darkfall pretty much suck which is why people like the OP are constantly looking for the next big thing so I'd say Xsyon maybe in pretty sorry shape if its just shaping up to be more of those two
