Am I the only one who sees how funny this shit is? Look at the first 8 replies to the OP. 1 of them goes further into detail and lists some posts and the other 7 of them belong to Slapshot1188, Rlmccoy1987 and HanoverZ. That's exactly what the guy was saying in the MO forums. How there's 4 people roughly who just post negativity and more or less respond to eachother continuously. The fourth, of course, would be HerculesSAS. Way to prove his point guys. It's funny that you actually call them pathetic.
I would add davmac22 to the list except he suddenly disappeared about a week ago after posting 12 times a day for a couple weeks.

Umm... I have one post (now 2) in 6 pages of responses.
I guess I'm not allowed to post in threads...
Edited to add: ok.. twice.. I can't count early in the morning.

Speaking Truth to Power, that gives everyone a thrill. You know, "The King has no Clothes" effect. Everyone wants to be the first to proclaim that.
MMORPG gamers have become very sensitized to being ripped off, and being hyped into oblivion. SWG was a good example, of generating hate: sell something and then change it completely right away. That makes people mad. STO is another example, take an IP that is beloved for generations, hype it to the moon, and trash it.
MO has added religion to the volatile mix: you have to have FAITH that the game will be good.
SV fell trap to many software projects: they underestimated the amount of effort it would take, and over-promised, especially on the schedule. The Collector Edition box fiasco didn't help; they promised it would be sent by a date, and it didn't happen. They promised many things, patches to fix the lag, etc, and they didn't happen.
Now SV is in the unenviable position of having to release and they need positive hype, but MMORPG gamers are not very good at hype, they are good at tearing things down.
The simple fact is that MO, in it's current state, is not a fantastic game. It is not even much of a game, yet. To hype it now is a huge mistake. If the game WAS fantastic, it would hype itself. Any attempt by SV to counter the negative hype with positive hype is doomed to fail.
I was long time elite member of MMORPG and can say it become one of the worst community I ever seen. Just do not waste much time posting there - one good word will be enough I think.

Edit: if the above guy was truly an MMORPG member at one time, he should know that most posters here aren't haters but more along the lines of objective skeptics... okay maybe a little cynical too, but that's okay I think.
Cynical? What ever would give you that impression?

I wonder why they closed it? There wasn't anything too inflamatory in their posts? What's Starvault afraid of?... one can only wonder.
That same mod locked a thread where someone asked the release date and people quoted the published date range from SV saying Q1. He goes out of his way to say: "To those above me, do not troll. You do not know when it will be released, so please do not attempt to fool new people with your assumptions."
This was one day before SV re-confirmed it was releasing this month. Talk about egg on your face....
In general I have no problem with mods closing or moving or whatever.. but it's always been a trend over there to lock a thread but post something insulting like that just before doing so. It just shows a real lack of maturity and an understanding of how to effectively moderate.

What's the point in posting criticism on the MO forums? Complaining about individual problems with the game is just met with "will be fixed soon" from SV, and "stop QQing" from their fans. Complaining about the underlying issues with SV, their development process and their professionalism just gets you labelled as a "hater" and therefore any criticism you might have is just countered with attacks on your credibility rather than discussing the issue itself. At least on MMORPG, a neutral, third-party website, you might get a chance to discuss why Mortal Online is in such a poor shape without the dev team and fanboys jumping on you.
A lot of people like to write WoW off as a "kiddy game", but at least when someone on their forums complains about something as petty and illogical as how their class is "nerfed" because they keep dying in BG, a blue poster will still take the time to post a constructive counter-argument. That is why Blizzard is a successful, respected company.

Thats not true, it takes tons of effort to get any kind of answer out of blizzard employees. The issue must be really huge before they even think of replying to that thread.
Okay, am i the only who is growing very tired of this stupid internet war between this site and MO's?
I want to say this site is full of very insightful players and reviewers who's gaming opinions i trust more than my own sometimes, but i also want to say, this site is also full of trolls.
It is not our duty to shoot down the opinions of others, if you want to discuss the game, make a thread about it; but there is a huge difference between discussing and trolling. So when people come onto this forum posting their good encounters with a game, it is NOT your duty to go and try to beat out their opinion with yours.
We are all here to have fun. Stop the trolling and embrace the love of the game. We are a massive community, us online gamers, we need to stand united, not troll each other into hating the subject.

PS: Haven't played MO once, so please don't label me one of their anti-mmorpg.com flamers. I am just tired of the trolls.
There are some people who do lurk here on MMORPG.com purely for the trolling, but when it comes to gaming many come here to actually get input on a game.
I had heard about this game and was intrigued on its systems through this website, so to bash it is getting rid of some free advertising.
At the same time, this game has been completely unplayable for me. It's only from last patch that I have been able to play this game at all, and from that I can play MAYBE... MAYBE 5 minutes before the memory leak crashes me.
It's frustrating enough to want to play something and not be able to at all, but then when people bring up the flaws that the game currently has you all want to defend it. Granted, some of you aren't experiencing the problems the others are, but this beta has caused me to not want to spend money on this game.
The negativity of these forums is from some truly frustrated players who can't post on the MO main site because their threads get deleted or locked. It's the reason there's an open forum. Open forums have hated and bile spitting. It's the nature of the beast. And it's from the variety of statements out there that people can begin to make their ideas on an upcoming release.
Don't see the hatred as a bad thing. It keeps MO at the top of the hit list, right?

There is plenty of constructive criticism over on the MO forums. It is the threads that say "OMG THIS GAME SUX!!!!111!" and similar that are closed mostly due to ravaging angry posters. Or posts that are trollish to start and are geared to start up flaming. I have been around for many launches and what SV mods do on the forums are no different then what other companies do when a launch is near. That is why most of the negativity comes to these forums.
Quick question... do you know this guy by any chance?
I wonder why they closed it? There wasn't anything too inflamatory in their posts? What's Starvault afraid of?... one can only wonder.
What are they afraid of? Lets see, first and foremost their game is not in good shape. Secondly, they do not have the funds to allow them time to fix those problems. Thirdly release is imminent...
Most importantly in normal circumstances you are skinned alive by the majority, when you release a game in such a state.
I do not condone the idea of silencing your players concerns. However, when you are up against a wall you sometimes have to do the unthinkable. They don't need any help in smearing their reputation or the quality of their product. They've done plenty themselves to do that for you. These guys just bit off more than they could chew, now the money has been spent the work has been done and they're stuck with the outcome.
They will crash and burn hard, I think they know this. They are angry about it and they have little choice but jump straight into the fire.

To tell the truth MO is a VERY average game on the market,i am BORED to death that i have seen soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo many MO threads,it's not like the public really cares much about the game, those that are looking for a niche game as DF was ,will look for it,nothing more.
I am sure there is probably millions more that can't stand Wow or what Blizzard stands for but i rarely see a thread devoted to it at least far less than MO threads.
IMO i hope the MO threads die out,it has been quite boring for me to come into MMORPG and just see boring MO threads everyday, albeit many other boring threads lol,but still.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
And most of the MO community has been shown to be childish. Instead of anything constructive they would rather form a crusade against a general forum. As Tim and Eric would say; "Great Job!".
Pathetic. MMORPG understands this and seem to be working on controlling the fire before it gets out of hand by the MO Crusaders.

I would add davmac22 to the list except he suddenly disappeared about a week ago after posting 12 times a day for a couple weeks.
Though they are right that the number of trolls on MMORPG.com is really high. I can't compare what it's like on other forums, but still...
Let's play Fallen Earth (blind, 300 episodes)
Let's play Guild Wars 2 (blind, 45 episodes)
