OMG congrats Japan! Great game against Cameroon. Everyone thought this was an easy win for Cameroon, but it did not happen. Cameroon played such conservative game for the majority of the game and didn't really threaten Japan until the very end where they took most of their shots. Sad. Anyway, Japan played a great match and that will help them in their next match. They'll be so pumped. Congrats Japan! Their best start yet for a WC.

I didn't get to watch that one. I caught a few minutes of the Ned v Den game this mourning and it was a pretty bad ass game too. I like seeing people get dominated though. With it being a Rank 4 v Rank 36 wasn't exactly a fair game, lol.
The Italy v Par game later is going to be another good match.

Zidane blasts French Team. Like he has any room to talk. What was he thinking when he pulled the headbutt stunt in the last match of the WC in 2006? He sure wasn't thinking about his team! What an ego. Yes I know he is a great player of the game(perhaps one of the best) but he gave up his right to discuss the game when he disgraced himself and his team in the final match because he couldn't control his temper.
Italy vs Paraguay and it ends in tie! That is a shocker consider the rankings of the teams. I wonder what else we're in store for the rest of the WC. Some amazing matches so far.
I have a wierd question. I don't follow soccer, just not my game, but I keep hearing about the problem of some kind of instrument the fans are bringing that makes a massive buzzing noise like a swarm of bees. Supposedly it's interfering with the game. Is this true? I only ask because I keep hearing about it.

Basically a lot of fans at the stadium have brought a Horn that is an African instrament. It makes a loud buzzing noise to attract atention as it was designed for that reason and the sound is drowning out sounds we fans love such as the commenters the sound of the ball being kicked etc.
The players have no problem with it tho.
Also the game is not called Soccer, Its called Football.

Ugh...the game between Ivory Coast and Portugal was lackluster to say the least. I dunno why the Ivory Coast didn't cap on a couple of sure fire opportunities to score toward the end of the match - it's as if they wanted the game to go scoreless. Makes no sense, because they are in group G and group G also has Brazil who should easily put North Korea away in their match today. That means that both Ivory Coast and Portugal will face Brazil with one point when it could have been a team going in with a couple of points and one going in with quite possibly a negative number in the group. I think this worsens Portugal's and IC's chance to advance to the second round.
I am definitely excited about the Brazil and North Korean game...this should be a high scoring game - for Brazil.
I've been watching world cup when I can, but I really can't stand the buzzing noise from vuvuzela. It's ruining my enjoyment for the game, and muting the tv makes the game super boring.

I only saw the Brazil v North Korea game today and it wasn't a bad game. 2-1 Brazil was handling the ball like nobody in the cup has yet, but they were shooting like complete ass for the first half. At one point, dude made it to the goal by faking out 3 players, kicking it through a def legs then just to pass it off so the next guy could shoot it into the stands. lol (sorry, I'm just starting to get into this... idk all the jargon)

The first half of the Brazil vs North Korea game was really sad. It's as if Brazil didn't know how to penatrate the NK defenders when they got down near the goal. NK kept them all bunched up and unable to pass. If Brazil had noticed the tactic early on the game would have been different. It wasn't until near the end that you started to see the Brazilian players spread out more forcing the NK players to spread out making it easier for Brazil players to pass through the defense to set up shots. Like the second goal in the game. That was a perfect example of a how it should be done. Those first half shots were just shot from to far away because Brazil could not get their strikers closer.
As for the NK goal. He really did get lucky. The Brazil goalie just totally misanticipated where the shot was going. A lot of goalies in the matches so far for that matter have made some pretty bad mistakes. Anyway, this sets Brazil nicely. They will go into their next game more prepared now that the butterflies are all gone.
Exciting match between Chile and Honduras today. Wow...despite the lack of goals Chile really showed good ball control and pretty much controlled the game. I liked how they constantly challenged the Honduran defenders by flanking their sides. That seemed to be Honduras weak spot and in one instance Chile capitalized on it and scored the only goal of the match. Chile did take lots of shots(22) - but just couldn't seem to put any away. I will say this the Honduran goalie, Valladares, made a great save, one of the best so far of this WC when he stopped the header by Ponce from just 3 ft away from the goal. Awesome save.

OMG Swiss beat Spain 0-1! Amazing. This was a definitely a game that surprised everyone. Spain came in as the big favesd to win this match easily. Congrats to Switzerland! This World Cup has seen some amazing games and this was no exception. Switzerland played a very aggressive game and I do not think that Spain was prepared for that.
Still can't believe it! See-you in the final (yeah, in my dreams...)

Geez...as if things couldn't get crazier...Uruguay killed South Africa in their match today. It was all Uraguay. Great shot made in the 24th minute of play set the stage for a great game. The way the player kicked the ball with stinging speed perfectly to arc down into the cross post of the goal then into the net. The goalie was like - WTF! LOL! Perfect kick from outside the penalty box...great shot. Then...then...OMG the same goalie was red carded after a blantant foul and tossed out of the game which brought on a free kick...score!!!! Uruguay! Gooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaalll! LOL! Then...if that wasn't enough. Last minute of the game a great pass across the field from the right side in front of the net and headshot incoming - GOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAALLLLLL! What an awesome game. Perfect ending to an awesome match.
Nice to see an American excited about real football.
Can say that I was abit suprised about how well executed Chile played as a team. And I really feel for Spain's loss, almost like time stopped when switzerland forced that ball into the net.
Argentina versus South Korea in a little over 5 hours now. Don't count on Argentina winning. I doubt it will be anything less that entertaining.

Wow...the Argentina game was just exciting....Argentina winning 4-1 over South Korea. I think it did surprise a lot of people that so many goals were scored and three by the same guy. All the games so far have been aweome...really exciting and each with its own surprises. I still can't believe that Switzerland won.
Can't wait to see the match between France and Mexico...that should be a great game.

Well, it seems the French team proved Zidane absolutely right...what an abysmal showing of the French team in that match against Mexico. Could it have been any worse? They were all playing as if they were alone on the field. Sure their were spurts of team play...but OMG...when they really needed team work it just wasn't there. Mexico saw this and cap'd on it. Mexico played a great game - Viva Mexico!

All I know is the Germans went down! I don't know what's up with this world cup this time around. Serbia first loses to Ghana but now beats the Germans? I'm kinda looking forward to future games now. Looks like just about anything can happen.

This is definitely one to go in the history books. OMG what was with the ref in the Slovenia vs US match is he blind? ::sigh:: That was US's game. Germany falling ti Serbia? Yes it is true. I know weird huh. But if you re-watch the game you see why...the Germans played a terrible game - they were so sluggish. You have to play 100% all the time in all matches. That I think is one of the things about many of these games. A lot of players must be partaking of the fun and festivities and it is wearing them out. It been a great WC so far you have to admit. There have been some incredible games.
Next up England vs Algeria! I am not even going to guess who might win...not in this World Cup this year!
