So hilarious. No wonder that "sport" will never be popular here. We tell our kids to get up, brush it off and keep going. The rest of the world says fall down and act hurt and maybe you can get a yellow card or red card.
    For soccer fans.

Maybe so but still soccer way more popular and  its global sport about 10 times bigger then ameriican football.

McDonald's sells a lot of hamburgers. So what's your point? We all know the fallacy of thought on more popular = better.  You need to come up with a better argument.

So americans are tougher and harder huh? Lol you bunch are the most safety and security obsessed people on this planet. Why do your precious fat nfl players not reduce protection ala rugby? HAH PANSIES

It requires teamwork, skill, there are no stupid tv/advert breaks to ruin the game, you can play it almost anywhere with minimum two players, has the most passionate fans in the world, fat, thin, tall, short, basically anyone with two feet can play it. It has many positions, formations, styles of play and when played by a good team on their day, it is a pleasure to watch. There wasn't really much of that in this World Cup I'll admit.

Tell your skinny soccer players to quit flopping. I didn't realize when soccer fails people turn to rugby and say they are tougher. Really? I watch rugby and there are some big hits but nothing like in football. The reason the hits are big is because of the protection. It's the sense of safety that allows a football player to turn himself into a human missile. In rugby most players take angles in order to tackle safely and not get hurt. BTW, I like how everyone says football players stand around after each play. Have you ever noticed in soccer almost every player except the guy with the ball and the defender are always just walking around? In soccer there might be at max 4 guys going full speed while the rest are just out there walking around looking at daisies. No wonder you don't need any breaks.

This World Cup was really being pushed hard to get Americans to watch but it failed miserably. In fact I would say it caused people to actually turn away from soccer if they were thinking about it.

Soccer could be a great sport and a lot of fun to watch if you fixed 3 things. Number 1, the sport needs more refs, eyes or cameras or something to get the calls right. Number 2, the players themselves need to stop flopping and looking to get yellow cards or red cards. It looks really lame and ridiculous. Number 3 get rid of the offsides rule. This opens up the game to fast breaks and would bring in some excitement to what is otherwise a very boring sport.

In America I have bad teeth. If I lived in England my teeth would be perfect.

It was a very deserved victory, Spain was the only team that wanted to play football, Holland did very well playing Karate tho. or something like that... Spain won and the football won also last night.

Are you serious? This clearly wasn't a deserved victory.

The match was decided by the referee, which was clearly biased. He pulled a yellow card at every minor violation the Dutch players but didn't do the same thing to Spanish players. One of the spanish players took down Robben after he had broken through the defense. Taking down a player that has broken through defense is red card worthy. Instead, the referee gave Robben a yellow card because he rightfully pointed out he was taken down.

Possibly the worst offense of the referee was not giving the corner to Holland when the ball was hit both by a Spanish player and the Spanish goalkeeper before landing behind the goal, so the entire offense in which spain scored a goal should not have happened in the first place.

Its funny how you pretend as if Spain played real football. Do you remember what happened after the Spanish goalkeeper unintentionally missed a ball that was returned to him? The Dutch team received a corner but gave the ball back to the goalkeeper because they were aware it was a mistake. Was the Spanish team just as honorable after they received a goalkick when there really should have been a corner? No, no they were not.

Also, what was Iniesta trying to win? The world cup or an oscar? It was downright pathetic to watch him make dive after dive and asking the ref to give yellow cards.

Your comments about this being a very deserved victory and a win for football is just silly. If anything, this match showed just how huge the problems with referees this sport has.

Blame the referee? You get to the World cup final and lose and then want to blame the referee? No no no. That is not right.

World cup final games are always niggly affairs, where each team are over concious of not losing, Holland obviously went out to stop Spain's passing game instead of concentrating on winning.

On another note, now that the World cup is over has anyone tried playing EA's Fifa World cup 2010 game online. So easy to get a game in the Play Online World cup mode, very addictive stuff.
