That is what happens when the developers are unable to fix anything. This has been in the game for a month and they are saying it was only up for a few hours...
But then again, some of us have been talking about unprofessionalism and how they do not know what they are doing, this is just a recent example... they still have not fixed multiple NPCs spawning inside and on top of each other...

Maerlyn said they will check the logs, yet they have no time to do anything else. Which one will they do.. actually check the logs or try to save their dying game?
I don't see anyone getting banned over this... Its a feature in the game... if they get banned, they can just do a credit card chargeback and get a full refund

It's not even about checking logs. This duping has been around for weeks. The resources and gold have made thrir way around the server. Some if it is in every keep built... every weapon crafted... every suit of armor bought. Can they ban a few token people who abused it the most? Sure... but to claim that they will remove every item that this has touched is just not realistic.. When folks bought stuff at a 60% discount and used it to craft... and then sold those items to someone else at a 50% discount.. who then had extra cash so they went and trained an extra skill...
Whatever though.. like I said before.. "fairness" is meaningless. It's now just about how to keep as many customers from quitting as possible.

Ofc they'll check the logs, ofc people will get banned. The game isn't dying. It's not a game feature. You can't do a charge back for this reason..

Just removing non-sense from the above post.
If its not a feature to allow all of the people to dupe, why was it in there for over a month and even stretching back into the closed beta?
This particular dupe was not around for long but I'm sure several people here would be willing to grossly exaggerate the amount of time it was. Logs are checked, duped items are deleted, players are banned and the economy returns to normal shortly.

I don't envy SV's position here but it's obvious they are taking the easy way out of this by sweepting it under the rug and pretending it was minor. This will most likely increase the percent of those leaving from 40% to who knows, but much much worse is SV made a choice that I feel will result in less people remaining at the expense of a far greater number of first time buyers not wanting to be part of this and who can blame them?
In that thread I asked how long it was in game for and Yutty posted this in response.

"Apparently this bug has been around since launch. The secret was only let out a week or so ago."

That was "yesterday" so all information shows the official response to be BS. Also in this thread.....

"I knew there was a dupe bug still in the game just didn't know where, and I agree a wipe would be nice, since launch was so fucked up with prices of books, items, spawn rates and looting."
This just goes from bad to worse. Even in tough economic conditions they should of sucked it up, wiped the server, gave another 30-days and not one fanboi would of left and a whole lot of new players would have admired them for it and bought the game. SV makes a lot of very bad decisions; I don't know why; no reason to believe they are bad people and don't, but they appear very amaturish.
@Xianthos - DFO brought up a NA server and didn't allow transfers for a long time. Huge question mark if MO will ever make it that far at this rate. Also, while DFO had tons of issues, it also had tons of content and game. MO hardly has content; can't even compare the two from a content point of view at launch.

And still euros who transfered to US server where the ones who "wtf pawned" on US server and still are, as they had exploit, bug use headstart, which you werent able to catch up even if you macroed non stop.
Content? You mean the [messed] up economy :-) since almost 2 years?
Yeah compared to MO, DFO has / had more to offer, but i wouldnt say it is / was satisfying.

Several months ago, but my bro ist still playing the game so i see and hear the changes almost on daily basis.
Btw my bro is getting bored aswell after 1 year of grind (too tired of grinding further) and he is hardcore player (got plenty of time).
And i dont get how you assumed i were accusing you of something :0 The persons who exploited and bug abused are well known and still playing the game and their bank contains about 30-40 millions gold (their own statment).
Xianthos - Sorry, message boards don't often convey the tone. I wasn't accusing you of any thing. I was providing the information because whatever went down on the EU server didn't dictate what character ended up being my main one and I just think it's interesting given what you said that my main would be born on NA and not the one I transferred ffrom EU.

Duped items and items made from duped or exploited materials are being deleted. I know people who have had steel items disappear from banks and inventory. It's being corrected appropiately.
In DFO exploiting and extreme duping (entire clan banks) continued for months. These items were not deleted or removed and still remain ingame today. Evidently obvious when one clan built up an entire city over night and then used several warhulks to BLOCK DOOR WAYS when legit clans still couldn't afford them.

Sorry for OT:
How come that warhulks are involved in every siege of landlocked city in last 6 months, and there was even "player event" when one guy attacked starter city using warhulk "for fun", knowing well that he's going to lose it ? How come that clans accused of using early dupes have transferred to NA-1, leaving their "legendary" fortunes behind ?
Dupes aside - some mechanics of Mortal Online gave advantage to "early adopters": extremely high selling molarium, unlimited weight bugs, limitless resource deposits, unlimited wisent spawns, 10s books, etc. I'm pretty sure that the guilds which left DF because of "early cheaters", will quit MO giving the same reason - assuming that they'll start losing.

We're talking a long time ago not 6 months. Sure warhulks are probably common now.
Everyone had access to those and the amount of time to catch up isn't long at all, perhapes a week or two meaning the long term is fine due to these changes. In Darkfall many couldn't exploit top end mobs from a lot more value than molarium (lol), afk macroed for weeks on end in walls with duped mats, set up macros to train every other skill within walls or in buildings. Got maximum protections from acid pools, rigormids.
To sum up exploiting in MO is extremely low compared to the exploiting that occured in DFO's 1st year. MO is also going around removing/banning duped/dupers, DFO still has those same players with millions of gold stacked up each.
I already experiences similar economic bugs in previous mmo's and each time their was a rollback to fix this. I would'nt invest much time this weekend on this game cause progress will probably be wiped.

The original.. long thread where the exploit was publicly revealed (it's existance.. not exactly how to do it) was posted has been deleted today. This is where player after player posted about how the exploit was reported on the dev tracker 1-2 weeks ago and was likely going on for weeks before that. Where they talk about how the price of steel dropped almost 3 weeks ago. The one with developer and moderator replies and updates...
I guess SV wouldn't want anything to conflict with their official statement about how it was abused for a few hours.... Once again though.. they are caught via the DevTracker (The gold link is to the OP.. his text was the white url below it):

Names/guilds? I know people who bought steel for 15G and they still have the items they used it to make...
PS: I'll believe it when keeps and houses start to dissapear and people start to complain that skills that were purchased with ill gotten gold were reset.

Whats great is that the "Lead Moderator" and "Community Manager" posted in the thread. If both of them didn't delete it.. I wonder who made the call?
As a matter of fact the "Lead Moderator" specifically said he was leaving the thread open since it was such a widely known issue (don't recall his exact words) but I believe he had at least 3 posts in the thread.
I guess someone realized that all the posts in there conflicted with the official statement about how the exploit was available for just a few hours... The best part is that all these players KNOW when it started. So they now know not to take anything SV says at face value while they happily giggle in their keeps and houses while surrounded by mounds of gold and resources and practicing their new skills...

Do you have any screen shots of this lie? I will make a huge post with all of this information to make sure people know about it (or you can make it, just don't want you getting attacked by the fans for being a liar)
I will be gathering links for evidence into this coverup, here are a few I found that maerlyn locked but did not delete. Lets see if we can find any information in them (have included screen shots of all the posts to make sure they don't try to hide these)

What a scam. That company is erasing posts now and only saying it was happening for a few hours while it was happening since the closed beta.
Pathetic and sad, yet the fans will still support their baby. Stuff like this makes me want StarVault to shutdown.
All time classic MY NEW FAVORITE POST! (Keep laying those bricks)
