i see the argument has moved to the domain of "why they are not allowing reporting exploiters on forums?"
John, nihce is right. They cant allow reporting on official forums. Let aside the fact that it will be a lot more clumsy/buggy reporting system it will also cause unjust naming and shaming. many times in pvp i was called "cheater, exploiter", many times people in my group called people "cheaters" while all they did was kicking our butts in a more organized way. Its the same in rl, innocent until proven guilty.
Funcom is rather slow in fixing bugs/exploits though. I wonder why. I know they are liers, can they also be incompetent?
When it comes to fixing exploits yes, yes they are. Don't forget they just finished their month long vacation.
Can any funcom rep. answer me this? Are you guys incompetent liers, is this why you dont or cant remove those exploits?
^^ Will get you banned on the official forums but a fair question lol...
ps. lol at "its not a bug its a feature" comments. go go fanbois!

Actually it's not a question, it's slander. Do you still beat you girlfriend?
its slander only if i were not beating my girlfriend and you asked this. If i were beating her before and you asked this its only curiosity.
Now answer me this, has funcom lied before? have they let some exploits in their game more than 6 months?
The point is, whether you did it or not, it is still slanderous. As far as Funcom lying - i.e. intentional misrepresentation of facts or events - I doubt they have. Sugarcoating, overpromising, underdelivering, and so forth - yes. Lying - no.

Actually, they fixed a number of exploits last month, read the patch notes.
But don't let that bother you or other people from riding the hate train like a themepark rollercoaster. Each has to get their own fun in their own different way.

No, it's slander until it's proven to be the truth.
Now answer me this, are some of you people really that desperate to see Funcom as the Big Bad Evil, to not see that they do and can solve some exploits quick and some exploits can't be solved quick or are lower on the priority to-do list? Are you that ignorant to not see that each MMO and MMO company has its own problems with hacks, exploits, bugs and bots?
Have any of you any experience with how it works in the IT or gaming business, that not everything is a quickfix or easily solvable or the most important things on a priority list?
Because it sounds to me that some of you are fixated on whining, hating and ranting, and nothing else matters.

yep they did, never said they didnt. its alot longer than what you would expect though, and not without some hickups(sliding, teleporting)
i can accept a game with its faults and beauties. why is this too hard to understand? When i say game has the best graphics its good and when i say the company behind it lies its bad?
It isnt hate, its being in peace. i accept them as they are, liers, and pay for the game they made, which is (for me) best on the market (for now)

every company has its problems and they deal with it the way they please. i follow the games i'm subbed. dont care how other companies deal with their problems. i'm not seing funcom as a big evil monster, i'm seing as they are and not keeping silent. because its simply more fun.

Cant' answer all of the John thoughts because I responded 2 late. A new discussion is on the run. Just few:
-please explain to me in depth how necro "exploit" as you call it is used on keeper. If you don't know it you can't really comment. I suspect that your info comes from some guy on this forum that responded in another thread saying they used NF necro strategy. That could mean they used only one necro ... And using resources legitly available without breaking any firm rules is not an exploit, just bad design -> if they used 23 necros it is not an exploit just bad design. Exploit would be altering the game, putting it outside the system of set rules. there is no rule or hard limit to bring as many people of the same class. Nonsense ...
- others I will leave because they would derail the thread and johnie is a man hard to convince he is wrong although every single evidence I displayed shows this.
On the other hand, this other poster said something about bugs being described as features. Noone said that bugs are features. But the hard FACT (which you should know if you play the game) is that elite hardcore players in fact like combo skipping. Sure, it isn't realistic but it adds another dimension to the game. It is a hole in design that was proven quite effective and fun. In FPS'es same "problem" came with so called bunnyjumping (where you continously jump to avoid being shot). But players that are effected the most by these unexpected "improvements" like it.
The only real argument against combomoulding is that is is immersion breaker. Do you understand the difference between a bad bug excused as a feature by few fanboys and a "bug" that deepens the gameplay and is welcomed by majority? Sure you will see some bad players hiding their own inability to play and understand the game behind such accusations. But they are not majority ...
While I agree comboskipping requires timing and skill, it is seriously flawed in that female toons cannot do it effectively compared to males. Go reroll is the answer I've heard to this. Completely unacceptable in my opinion. If it's in the game it should either be fixed, or available to all.
As for quick fixes of game breaking stuff. Gem suits anyone ? - How long did it take them to fix that idiocy. Months. What about 3k passive crits from tosses, and 1-shotting. How long to fix that ? - Yeah, months. But guess what, the dog now chases the cat in OT makes it to the patch notes. Total joke.

Combo molding is liked, because it makes combat faster. Yeah, I can just about imagine every single PvP player who likes to play a few tetris games while waiting for combos, which is like FC offers the game now. FC themselves claim that combo molding is an exploit. Either FC fixes said exploit, or permanently bans every single player using it from the game, OR fixes their combat system.
Look now, I played Quake 1 for around 10 years myself, I absolutely love bunny jumping, rocket jumping and all other kinds of speed jumping there is. However your claim that bunny jumping was created to avoid being shot is completely false and quite frankly means that I'd like to meet you in a Quake 1 duel (if you wish to accept, include time GMT and server). Bunny jumping was made to create leverage against your enemy by superior speed.. it has nothing in the world to do with being shot at. If you get shot at by a good player (in Quake means a one who shoots at different spots before you even arrive to them, you get slaughtered). Mastering those moves made you good, this made Quake an unique game compared to everything else. Which added a lot to the game later on, making it (in my opinion) the best FPS game that has ever been made. Also unlike FC, iD never said that bunny jumping is an exploit.
Before you go all fanboi on me, direct quote from Sirillion (That'd be the main guy of AoC that you like)
"1. This is dangerously on exploit ground and something not suitable for discussion on open forum. It is considered an exploit. It is certainly not intentional and we may address it in future updates. Not one I am going to discuss here though other than to confirm it isn't something intentional."
No, it's slander until it's proven to be the truth.

Hey, what can I say, after a few months hanging around mmorpg.com forums I noticed that posting in a balanced, good&bad reasonable kinda way doesn't work, but that outspoken posts work far better, so that's what I do now.
... naah, just kidding. I already stated that FC people like Gaute played with the truth and fucked up with the AoC launch, but that doesn't mean that I think they're all liars or that everything every FC person - like a Morrison - said from then on till now has been lies. That's the kind of immature worldview I usually refrain from.

Nope, I won't. But if you think there's something wrong with my posts feel free to use the report button It's become kind of a sport, trying to find out what I can get away with on my anti-haters rampage without getting warned or banned, just as I guess it's a kinda sport for others in their troll or hate rampage.
On the side, the hating, trolling and ranting isn't something unique here for the AoC forums, it's on a lot of the gamesection forums here on mmorpg.com, far more than average compared to other gaming and mmorpg sites.
I thought when I first visited the mmorpg.com forums here that people visiting were in general interested and curious about all kinds of MMORPG's, but in reality it seems that ranting and flaming current and upcoming MMO's is the more popular thing.

Ah, this makes me remember the time when female chars swung slower making their overall damage be lower than the male characters' damage. Hilarious. Although maybe more realistic, women dealing not as high damage than men, it was an unintended situation, and they corrected it to equal situation. Rightly so.

Well, I don't know how much bunnyjumping was an intended combat feature in the Quake or Unreal series, it isn't something you see in combat in MW2. And just like that bunny jumping requires skill, combomoulding/skipping requires some skill.
But sure, should be interesting to see whenever they remove it, what persons and classes will start complaining. If this should be in the top rank of to-do fixes or improvements, naah, don't think so. Enough other stuff that should be higher up in the list.

Ah, how very amusing (to everyone who I guess you consider trolls), FC actually shipped with slower attack speeds on female chars than males. Also amusing that damage wasn't the issue, attack speed was...that's some funny stuff right there, it just burns through some rose-colored goggles!!

Are you actually trying to compare quake and modern warfare 2 here? If so, I hope you understand the difference of brutally skill based FPS and a teamplay game. Quake isn't anything like MW2... there's no comparison to Quake other than Unreal that you just mentioned... you wish to mention MW2, then you should be talking about Counter-Strike instead of Quake.
Quake is a brutal skill game with no compromises, you get beaten so damn bad that your ego gets buried every hour, but that's what makes it great.

Speed was the main issue, not dmg, go read some forum topics from before you became a sirillion fan!

MMO's (or any client server based game) are notoriously bad at z-axis calculation. Bunny hopping skews the z-axis positional data being sent back to the server. I'm sure people can recall at least one major z-axis exploit in any MMO they have played. I remember people using a ton of them in EQ1. They got banned if caught, which means that Verant (who ran EQ1at that time) considered it a cheat.
In AoC bunny hoppers do it for two reasons. 1: To manipulate the data stream (therefore cheat) making it harder for you to land a combo on them, and 2: To exploit stamina use. If you time your "hops" correctly, you can save a tick of stamina every few steps.
lol cyphers you are having as much fun as i am, just sittin on the other side of the fence.

this is what i was talking about earlier, you let a bug/exploit live long enough and no matter what you do majority will learn it. They cant ban all those people, its too late for that. they are not letting the minority learn this trick, which is punishing that minority because they didnt know or choose not to use said exploit.

Tell that to my female guardian char. I can't combo skip with her, on the other hand with a newly created MALE guardian (on testserver) skipping works just normal.
So if combo skipping is to stay and its a "feature" that good players embrace, let me have that option on my female char or let me change gender. Seriously...
Bunny jumping in majority of FPS'es is considered gray area. Maybe in quake it isn't and it makes up for the speed or whatever (I hate games in which I don't need to use my brains - therefore I prefer more tactical FPS'es) but in most FPS'es it is. And every FPS developer on one point has to face with decision whether to "legalise" bunny jumping or somehow limit it. It is so easy done that it cannot be considered exploit, it practically is a feature. It is surely unintended one but it still is a feature.
Most recently Americas army devs made a very bold decision when they simply disable any jumping whatsoever just to avoid bunny jumping. They upset thousands of fans loyal to the series with this move.
The exact same could happen with AoC. Players don't accept exploits/bugs as features if they make unwanted changes. But they accept changes that make wanted changes. I see combomoulding and bunny hopping as one of those features that were never meant to be part of game rules but they somehow made it there and are there to stay. Because majority of players wants them there. FC would probably already announce comboskipping as a feature if there wouldn't be minority crying how they can't fix exploits and rather make them features
As for 2 concerns raised:
-females can't comboskipp: this is simply a myth. Every character can comboskip either it is male or female. If you didn't learn how than I suggest you practice some more. (granted it is harder but it is doable. I agree though and that is valid argument ... they need to fix the speed for females to be equal - never understood why speed is not equal tbh. Is there anything female has that makes it up for being slower in combat?)
-feature is not publically available. First, if we regard it as feature the mechanics have to be easily discoverable by yourself. I was doing this technic when noone else knew what it was, neither did I. It is so easy discoverable in a game that greatly rewards movement that, believe me, if a player did not discover it himself he is simply not in the league where comboskipping makes a difference. A player who discovered and trained comboskipping would CRUSH this player without even using comboskipping. If it was a feature it would be discussed on forums as much as for example positioning which, similarly, is hard to master and easy to discover. You cannot really talk much about comboskipping. Why? Because it is so easy to discover that every single player worth knowing it already knows it ...
(same "problem" you can find at avoiding knockback with double tapping backwards which started as an exploit but is one of the most brilliant features currently implemented in combo system IMO. A simple change in game rules that makes a difference between cassual john and hardcore player)

Which guardian skill is comboskippable? And what is the benefit of it? Some chars are simply not worth comboskipping with

However, I'm sure you'd like to keep on arguing how this is GOOD FOR THE GAME and we who have a problem are all trolls!!

Sure, if that's how you like to see it, feel free. I wonder what will burn through some dark stained goggles, like yours for example. Any ideas for that?

It also looks totally fucking ridiculous.

lol cyphers
you are having as much fun as i am, just sittin on the other side of the fence.
this is what i was talking about earlier, you let a bug/exploit live long enough and no matter what you do majority will learn it. They cant ban all those people, its too late for that. they are not letting the minority learn this trick, which is punishing that minority because they didnt know or choose not to use said exploit.
I need more vespene gas.
Some chars are simply not worth comboskipping with
Too bad such "skill" can only be accomplished via these gray zones. Incompetent devs ftw!
