That sounds pretty normal to me, if he didn't like the game I doubt he will like it after CATA (that also is unpublished yet) either.

As for the new game he might or might not like it, but he knows he doesn't like Wow and that is fine because taste matters and you just can't assume that everyone likes exactly the same things as you do.

I don't think no expansion can get a player to like a game he did not like before, except maybe a total revamp like the NGE and that always pisses off more players than it makes happy.

The people who like Wow will hopefully like it more or at least longer but the ones that totally burnt out or dislike it from the start wont play it again, at least not for long. Everybody can't like the same game.

If you quit end of BC you dodged a bullet. With the exception of Ulduar, Wrath at 80 was boring. Levelling zones and storylines were good though. Just depends what you want from the game though.

Cata will be good and no doubt worth the box price and if you loved BC you probably won't notice too much the dumbing down since they're ramping up the difficulty again from the teletubbie level of Wrath.

Will I come back? No. The game doesn't reward my level of play and caters to casuals - and 12 million of those can't be wrong. But within two months it'll be back to the pointless heroic LFD grind.

This will make me sound like a fanboy, but haters gonna hate. I've learned from these forums that no matter how rational and civil the discussion there will eventually be WoW hate. For the type of MMO that WoW is, there is no better game on the market; nothing even comes close. I would say it's well worth a trip back to Azeroth. What do you have to lose? I think you'll find it a refreshing experience.

It's the RvR zone of Lake Wintergrasp with a 240 player limit on holding the zone to get a Raid, vendor and realm awards. Each night it is fought over. After 2 years the zone is now complete free of lag and heavely played on my server.

The footage is just that: a compressed video of in real in game footage (origional sounds and all) showing the real time destruction of the zone by the opposing forces.

I think lots of you "hate guys" should first play the content before commenting.

Apparently some of you hype even games that don't exist. It is about time you follow the industry trend setter first, before commenting on things you never saw (level 72) and then make conclusions.

I think it is about time some people discover WOW.

I played this last July and leveled my Priest to 76, then resubbed last week and got to 80. I'm working on my Tier 10 gear before Cata comes out, then I will probably not play much in November. I'm looking forward to playing a Worgen Hunter when Cata comes out.

Wotlk was a really fun expansion, but it feels a little strange playing now as everyone knows the content and expects you to as well. I never played wotlk before my priest. I did play TBC a little with a rogue a few years ago.

On / off resubber. I am considering Cataclysm but only because I don't want to play anything else right at this moment. If Guild Wars 2 or SW:TOR was suddenly and surprisingly released or even, heaven forbid, Incarna (finally!!!!) for EVE Online I would consider playing those instead.

It's the zone I like most, certainly if you want to hold on to the Keep with your guildies.

I just pointed this little  RvR out to the 2 guys above in this thread that keep pushing unpublished games through the roof and then come in downgrading WOW without even knowing what can be played these days.

Changing zones ownership, destructable landscape already offered and played in a published game. N o need for me to drool over "paper" games.

Now I will try those other games too, but first I wait till I can actually play them before bashing/trashing existent ones without decent experience.

Nah, I retired from WoW after killing Illidan with my guild, and I promised myself I wouldn't return.

Wait, WOW added looting of your opponents, meaningful penalties for dying, keeps that you personally build with your own blood sweat and tears, and defend against all comers.

No? Oh, nevermind then.  As mentioned, WOW is many things, but it isn't everything that players are looking for.

Of course Wow is not everything that players are looking for. Far from it even.

But it offers more than the "published" alternatives .these last 6 years showed that the "unpublished" alternatives simply did not deliver.

Vets are playing WOW by lack of any other decent alternative.

If you don't like the fact you are a spaceship in endless space and will never see something trivial like a tree... what are the alternatives?

Single focused games with a lot less polish, world and much less choices.

Of course the next announced game will certainly remedy this. We all know that.

In the meantime ...I play such zones instead of whining and dreaming up nice things in the sky.

Even with nothing else to play I will not be returning to WoW. Leveling up in WoW was very fun with certain classes. Other classes it was a chore. Also, there is nothing for me to do once maxed. I hate raiding, and lacked the gear(and arena team) to be competitive in PvP at level 80.

I may reactivate my sub every once in a while, create a new character and see the "new old world" and everything, but I'm pretty darn sure I'm not going to buy the expansion itself. Being able to fly around (since I no longer have the time/patience to raid) is, frankly, not worth $40 IMO.

More then half of the "vets" in this thread already dont agree with that "fact"

Dont post your opinion as fact

For me even Pacman now is a better alternative then WoW

Also you didnt answer yet where i bash and what games i push through the roof.

    To answer the OP: No.

Comparing the revenue WoW is generating for Blizzard with the level of innovative content being funneled back into the game has made me completely distrust the company. They should be able to do it so much better with those kind of funds assuming there is a genuine interest and ability within the company to expand the game universe.

I think you just answered your own question :)))

My opinion IS fact (not in this thread of course) but by the simple "fact" more than 12.000.000 active subscriptions show it and ... yes EVE has 350K too. Don't even try to negate the subs because the Q results are there to prove the revenue.

Looking at my guild most players played WOW already longer than 4 years. With each new "game" published some try them with me.

They always come back. And ... a lot didn't even try anymore after War.

We realised the competition simply lacks the funds and resources to come up with anything decent. And frankly it didn't exactly go better in 2009 and 2010 compared to these disasters of 2008.

The hype up part was for Loke666. He's playing GW2 since 2005 I believe.

My avatar's name in game is Acrono, not Zorn (I play on EU servers, so I think we didn't meet in game). Although I am quite known within  the community of Wow and used to play early on at US servers.
