however, after we will know the truth about the above mentioned big four, there will be still hope. thats good to know.

I suspect TERA will be a hit for PvE but not PvP, RIFT will probably fail competing against GW2 and SWTOR will be full of star wars fanatics as it's bringing nothing new to the table.

We still have quiet a while until this game hits the Western audience, after they release in Asia early next year (?) they don't intend to westernise until the game is polished :s As in after all these games have come and perhapes a couple have gone.

Hmm, looks to have great potential. I'm quite curious how this turns out to be in the end.

Yay for more out of the box thinking.

Looks interesting but it will be a while before it reaches the states.

Watching the gameplay videos and after seeing some screenshots, I can't wait to play this game. It looks very promising to me. =)

Any release estimations for the west? I just hope it will be subscription-based.

Meh another korean grindfest. No matter if it has good graphics, combat, gameplay, quests, story, lore or something else it is still a korean_grindfest_game. Koreans are doomed to create bad MMOs you hear me?! I just wish everyone accepted the fact that Korean games are always going to fail even if they are awesome.

It isn't just another Korean game though. It's been made by experienced developers who from the start had  full intentions for it to hit the Western market when polished enough.

I have to admit that it at least seems somewhat interesting but TERA looks a lot better.

The game seems somewhat similar to Vanguard, and that might be good or bad. The videos were interesting enough for me to keep an eye on it at least but I am still more interested in TERA (which is after both GW 2 and Rift on my list).

Mixing sandbox and Themepark features is not a bad idea and I think we will see more of that later.

Lol, I know, just trying to attract the typical mouth-breathing commentsimage

Might be worth it.  Big Budget sandbox.   Grind may or maynot be an issue.  Koreans like grindy games  (korean generally like grinding,  might be how they pulled themselves out of a third world economy).

This could be a big issue.  But also given the fact darkfall was grindy,  i guess its not only Koreans who like grindy games.

Another aspect that Archeage seems to have gotten right.

In Archeage there are 10 ability schools, a character may learn all of them but only have three active at a time. It costs a significant amount of money to switch these schools but allows for long term character development and the flexibility to do what you need if it's worth the cost.

Tera it seems you can only vairy within your own archetype.

    Will update OP.

I really don't understand why your comparing this game with tera.  There not the same.  Maybe you could compare tera with B&S,  that I could understand....because there both action games.

Archeage should be compared with games like GW2 & Rift.

Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries...

I'm going along with the reviewers comparasons. It's not such a stretch to compare the two, you don't just compare things that are simular. Although these two games do have their simularities.

It looks interesting, as I am a big UO/EQ fan, but I also do not like playing f2p type games, I prefer to know what I am paying, and I am fine paying $15 or whatever...If I determine a f2p game costs the same in the cash shop, then I would be fine to do that...but if its a pay to win type of envioronment, then I will pass.

I am not sure what the payment plan is though...So I am not counting it out either way, but I am more skeptical of f2p.

I like the idea, and I hope it good, this could be a great additional option to the big 4 that are coming out, and they all 5 would offer something different/new....With this being the most sandbox of them all.

No, they don't have similarities..You are simply comparing them because they are both korean, just look outside of the box for a second it's really not asian vs western. This game is not comparable with TERA.

And what would that be ?

    They both feature PvP aspects.

They're both developed by Korean companies.

They've both gone down the graphics road instead of machine friendly.

Guild and group focus both having political features.

Both have level and gear systems.

And if you take that part out then just about ALL games fall under that list.......

One has collision detection, hit boxes, non targeting, and the main focus is small group action.  When Archeage incorporates most of these things and still bring to the table large scale battles then we can talk.

The problem is you should have just tried to show how cool Archeage is going to be and not try to compare it to other games.

"it does look like a good game".....don't get me wrong.  Just let it stand on its own merits.

Comparing games to each other is healthy, at the end of the day people will play eaither 1 of these two games depending on their own taste. The second reviewer seemed to compare the two with a slight bias against Tera, I merely pointed out a few more points when comparing the two games.

Cool, let's compare EVE online and Fallout: NV....

    They are both games.

    Both developed not in Asia.

    Both RPGs.

In both of them you control something, a ship in the first and a human in the second.

In both of them you can fire lasers.

Both have in-game currencies, a menu, graphic settings, audio settings..............................................................................

with the quality this game shows i HIGHLY doubt it's going to be f2p, but i'll wait till they make the announcement. Been waiting for this game for awhile, i've been joking with my friends and brother saying this will be the lineage 3 NCsoft never released.
