Can't say I expect much from this game. I've been burned one too many times on Japanese Games and I'm afraid to try any others at this point.

~Miles "Tails" Prower out! Catch me if you can!

Let me rephrase that, Archage does not have the g-string plate mail on the females nor idiotic lances on tanks.....  So much for your so called better graphics.  So you have been burned on Japanese games, but never on a Korean one?  Sorry I have to laugh at that contradiction.

IMO this game will trump TERA because it is actually different than your standard class happy, grind away MMO.

I watched the ArcheAge trailers and so far not impressed. If it wasn't for some rare features such as castle sieges and naval battles I would say it's not that good at all. As for the graphics even though using CryEngine2 they are still far behind TERA which has more polygons, more vivid colors, better textures and smoother animations. TERA seems a more fun game overall I'd say but still watching this game.

    Cant wait.

Wow, catapults shooting flaming rocks, like, cant you just have a magic user shoot fireballs at the ships?, or do you just need a weapon like a catapult to fight one at all.

I will worry about Archeage when there is ANY word of it coming to NA. We probably wont see it hit NA or EU shores for at least 2 years.

So what being able to attack them with mage spells have to do with it? I rarely see naval battles and catapults in other MMOs, do you? The matter where you can attack them with mage spells or not has little to do with that.

Just saying, the only thing trying to fight the ships from the shore is that thing, ive seen videos of this game with fire balls destroying woioden bridges. It would make sense for there to be guys at the shore fire balls at the boats, im wondering i you cant do that and are only restricted to fighting ships with weapons like those or something.

Hmmm, if the UI is changeable or "skinnable" then maybe I'll take a loot at it. From what I've seen in the videos the UI looks terrible. I hate that unique full horizontal skill bar. And the top bar is so poorly designed. Oh well, might be a bit "picky" considering that what really matters is the gameplay.

But at least for me that UI is throwing me off...

So far we've seen the rare features you've mentioned and some starter quests. Which features shown in the trailer were not impressive :s ?

Comparing Archeage PvE you've seen so far is pretty void because we've only seen starter quest mobs, which are not going to be difficult.

If you were referring to PvE, after watching TERA's usual PvE I can't say they've done anything spectacular or brilliant, it's the standard decent AI with 2-3 different animations and a special move sometimes.

Looked at TERA's graphics, it's a different style and perhapes it has more polygons which it can because of shorter view distances, lack of needing to support many people fighting in one area. I'm not a fan of half naked women fighters, mages who use their bum to cast each spell. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5JXdJKvSswE&feature=related

TERA's engine is technoglically less advanced than Archeages in several ways that make Archeage more immersive and give it the edge.

TERA will be a good PvE game for those who like instanced bosses and a solid AI but it just lacks the variety of things to do that AA has.

UI is fully customisable we've been told/shown. You can move things whereever, get rid of things, change the box sizes, make them transparent. Although they might change it, not sure.

Well, seems that what's customizable is what's available... not that bad, but also not what I was expecting for. He takes the bottom bar and just resizes the window, since all slots can't fit on one horizontal line they change into 2 lines, it's not the same as being able to add another quickbar.

It also doesn't mean I'll be able to do my own customizations (i.e. add my own custom made skin) to it. No mention of the possibility of LUA (or another scripting language).

Because c'mon, that UI looks really unpolished... I agree that it might change in the future, I really hope so because the game clearly deserves a more polished UI.

TERA's PvP doesn't look good at all. You're combining high graphics, polygon count with aimed moves. I've watched the videos of the PvP from the main website and soon as any lag factors in you see people swinging into random directions which looks weird from the other persons screen. You will also have the same classes, wearing the same armour, using the spell small set of spells - predictable PvP is boring in the long run.

    TERA's main point is PvE;

'And as TERA begins, the humans, high elves, amani, castanics, barakas, and poporis have banded together…

…and together they’ll fight a menace from beyond their world: the Argons, a metallic race from the Underworld. Unless stopped, they’ll destroy Arun and Shara, and then the dream will end for everyone.'

The PvP is in the form of duels and server v server battle grounds, just like most PvE centric games have. PvP centered games tend to go for more extreme PvP ideas. (See Darkfall for example)

A game doesn't need to be full sandbox to be PvP centric. So I stand by his point. TERA's main point is PvP. It's FFA competitive pvp mainly centered around guilds (just like Darkfall as you say) and not faction based. Everything from the political system, the action combat and the rumored server invasions point at that.

I never said a game had to be Sandbox to be PvP centric, don't mistake Darkfall for a Sandbox because it's not. It can be faction based it would just have to be given more detail, larger scales of combat, real time game meaning (not we won the server v server battle grounds again yay!).

I have been watching this game eversince the Korean Gstar event

for me this is my alternative for GW2, im very interested by the mechanics and promises they made so far *crossfingers*

although it's true, this isnt looking as good as TERA yet, but what i love about this is the Siege Battle, Naval Battle, Open World Housing, and you can build Forests anywhere in the game, Open World!

    So What Now?
