I chose Rise of the Godslayer. I enjoyed its content and i really like alternative advancement as i am a huge fan of off-line progression.

I am a hug EVE online fan but honestly Tyrannis was an awful expansion. It gave us a poorly thought out planetary interaction and EVE-gate - a poorly made piece of junk with almost 0 functionality.

Incursion however is looking like a great expansion. Bunch of fixes, bye bye learning skills, better PI, anti-aliasing, best character creator ever created, more pve content and new salvager. I am looking forward to voting this best expansion next year.

    Playing: PO, EVE
    Waiting for: WoD
Favourite MMOs: VG, EVE, FE and DDO
Any person who expresses rage and loathing for an MMO is preposterous. He or she is like a person who has put on full armor and attacked a hot fudge sundae.

WoW isn't my game, but I would be lying (IMO) if I chose any other choice.

    Playing - EVE, Wurm

Retired - Final Fantasy XI, Anarchy Online, Mabinogi

    Waiting - ArcheAge, Salem

Quite the same for me. I didn't like WoW, but with the release of Cataclysm I thought to give it an other try, and I got to say, I LOVE my worgen warlock. Never had so much fun in WoW before ;)

Even though i care little about WoW, and honestly like it even less I have to say that change of this scope for any MMO deserves attention, so i voted for WoW. This is what in my opinion expansion supposed to be. If it was Moria's time in LOTRO, I'd vote for LOTRO since I care much and like it even more. :) But Moria is a long passt now. I know for sure what I'd be voting for on any poll and voting after Spring 2011 - SWTOR. That game just can't come out sooner and I can't wait.

I don't think WoW has 'improved' anything.. they have given plenty more content and rehashed old stuff but its the same as it was, nothing has changed. Now I'm not a WoW hater, I think its a great game, I just think its the same thing over and over, it knows what it is and doesnt really need improving anyway. I also think its too early to like how cata is guna pan out in the long run.

Aion gets my vote, for how completely different the expansion made the game experience. It has saved the game IMO. Removing a major grind is a major improvement.

I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

Really crappy list. No reason for WoW or Eve to be there at all and then you go and miss an obvious one like DDO, Also Global Agenda should be there instead of those 2 horrible choices you made. For a winner I'd have to say AoC or Dungeons & Dragons.

If you said EVE Online: Incursion I would vote for  EVE but with Cataclysm rolling up the old lower levels they had nerfed progression (so I am repeatedly told by players, I have never played WoW)  and not only modernized and rebalanced the world, but took the risk of redoing it too, I say is what gets my vote for biggest improvement.

I would have hoped to see ffxiv as available choice ... even if it's quite new game, SE showed quite a "fairplay" that just astonished me.

So, within the available choices ... not sure any deserves my "most improved" award ... as all games give nothing new (let me joke with Aion and wow, lol!)

So, i finally vote Eve, because adding planets interaction to the neverending universe expense sounds really promising for eve players!

And promising to me, as a WoD fan :)

How can you guys sit there and drone over WoW when Blizzard has complete disdain for their own lore and butchers it to hell...  Blah that game died with BC, even with WAR's little amount of PvE I would vote it over WoW any day, but now they've taken the route of butchering the lore, Mythic should have never touched that game.  They could've made it great if they would of built it more off of DAoC, but instead they wanted to try and crush the game you guys drone about.  AoC deserves this much more than WoW, and is a better game imo.  In Conan you can actually feel a sense of the world, and get immersed in the world, my only complaint would be that it's not completely open ended.

I dont currently play any of the games on the list but have tested our just about all of them at different stages of there development. I have to say the game I have been most impressed with over all of this year is Age of Conan.

Really, really bad poll. First one where I felt like all of the choices fell short. WoW isn't improved as much as rehashed, otherwise it's still the same game. AoC is still suffering from many of the issues that made it unplayable and/or boring the first time around, though I suppose it has improved some. CoH isn't improved, it's expanded upon. If that goes up there, then so should every other game who's had an expansion this year, which is pretty much all of them. The Good/Evil decision doesn't even have enough of a bearing, especially since you can switch between them pretty much whenever you like. Eve...actually this is one of the few MMOs I've never played, so I can't speak to it. But that's also why I wouldn't vote for it.

Not going to bother voting with this one. In the context of the list I'd say Aion is the most improved, but all it's improvements failed to make it a 'good' game IMO. Better than bad isn't necessarily 'good'.

I've only played WoW and Eve recently, so I voted for WoW...don't recall really any noticeable changes in Eve. However, this list has made me think about trying out AOC and COX again.

Voting for WoW on this.  There's nothing much to be improved in WoW, with its current codes, but they did a really good job in Cataclysm.  I got my free 7 days to try out the new azeroth and now I'm just waiting for the server rush to calm down a bit before getting my copy and re-subscribing.  Lucky vets get to experience 2 games in one (new azeroth + new cata zones) added to their old azeroth experiences.  I just hope they add more new paths to the 6-year-old character progression--not that it's that bad, but after six years, we all know it's dated and we expect more.

take off wow and stick on darkfall.

i dont play either, but c'mon...

I voted AoC, but this list really does suck. I would have probably selected DDO if it was on the list, seeing as how it pretty much reinvented itself to great success this year.

    No SWG? j/k

I went with Eve of course.

  • DeathengerDeathenger Member UncommonPosts: 880

This poll has no creditability without DarkFall being there. Although not as big as some of these titles... it has improved by leaps and bounds since release.

This was down between WoW and CoH for me, but I went with CoH and this is why.  While WoW released a couple of new races and changed the old world, the game play is still esentially the same.  With Going Rogue, City implemented an alignment roleplaying system along with a new start area, but it's really the alignment system that grabs my vote here.  It's nice to see these games RP elements back into the game.

The only reason why I voted WoW is I was suprised by the direction Blizzard took cata. There are tons of players complaining how healing is too hard now and such, but the vets are saying how it went back to how vanilla WoW was. If that's true, I may be subbing soon to get my first max level character.

Too bad it's a couple years too late, it's a pretty decent game now.

This. The game is leaps and bounds compared to what is was at release and ROTGS expanion was a good one. That is what I call improvemment, no revamping here.

WoW all day every day... The new dungeons are amazing, the boss mechanics work perfectly with one another for very challenging fights. If you do them on heroic, you better be ready to get familiar with the corpse run. Gone are the days of WotLK where everyone had their hands held and diapers changed. If you go into a heroic not knowing how to play your class or get out of fire, you will likely cause a wipe on a boss.

They've completely revamped healing to make it far harder (more fun, IMO). You can no longer spam Holy light as a pally, nourish as a druid or flash heal as a priest. You have to use every healing spell in your arsenal in order to have enough mana to heal through an encounter.

Crowed control is finally back. If you lack any sort of CC in a heroic now, you will likely not succeed. CC is your friend!

There are SO many more changes then this, I suggest everyone who has a biased opinion against WoW checks it out again.

I'm playing WoW, and went back to Aion for the free reactivation (for a day and a half then said this is still sh*t) so, I really wouldn't vote for any on this list, just my .02

  • theinvadertheinvader Member UncommonPosts: 240

Before I read the nominations I thought "I'll vote for LOTRO because their F2P conversion has made the game so much more accessible to my schedule and I would never have tried it out otherwise". So surprised not to see it there! Guess I'll vote WoW cos of the epic Azeroth overhaul.

    Always read the small print.
