The problems of FF XIV do not lie in it's "code". It's the gamedesign that needs to be replaced. Yes i said, "replaced" because a few tweaks won't cut it. I predicted it months ago and it seems to happen now: They pretty much have to start from scratch and they know it. Firing the whole team responsible is the final proof.
Well seeing as how the game is still online and being updated today (literraly today, todays the dec version update) without any of this "starting from scratch" stuff tells me that they aren't doing that at all.
And the whole team was not fired, the original director was demoted to LEAD GAME DESIGNER.
yes, enjoy all of the fun new "content"...hahaha - you must have extremely low standards at this point.
not the point, what im saying is that theres nothing to suggest that their going to and start from scratch and replace the whole design.
Yes, replacing the entire core team is no indication that they are trying to "redirect" the game towards being fun. /sarcasm off
Thats a myth, how can you say the repalced the entire core team when the new Lead Game designer is one of the guys from that very core old team that was allegedly "replaced"? that statement is a lie.
"Allegedly replace" - Perhaps you dont follow the news on the lodestone. Here is a direct quote from the lodestone:
"After thorough deliberation on how to meet those expectations, it was decided that the most viable step was to approach improvements under new leadership and with a restructured team"
What lines, it tells you right there on the leadstone what the new positions are, and the lead game designer was already there before as director, yeah, a lot of the team was replaced, but to say that they fired the entire team is in fact a myth, because its not true.
Sir, you are grasping for straws, I said the core team as you even quoted above. Here is another direct quote from that same page that you didnt read apparently ( I underlined and bolded the important part so that you dont miss it) :
"These members will make up the development team's new core-a core dedicated to ensuring we achieve a level of enjoyability that will more than satisfy our customers."
This new core includes a guy that was the previous director in an important position (lead game designer), thats not a straw, its a fact. They did not replaced the whole team, saying so is lying (cause its not true).
Again, i didnt say whole team, I said core team, which is exactly what it says on the lodestone. How dense are you?
And its not true, you cannot say that they replaced the whole core team when it didnt happen. I see the core team and theres this guy that was already there before, that means it was not replaced entirely. Only in mythland is that true.
Not entirely true, although the codemonkeys are still doing their thing, its the 'guiding hands' that were either replaced or reassigned, personally i am curious as to how long it will take for them to rework the game to make it viable, starting with the ridiculously bad UI, and probably getting around to taking away the xp cap too, among others, the sheer volume of work that needs to be done to the game though, and the list is impressive (if in a bad way) that i would be very surprised if this game ever see's the light of day on the PS3 even... as i suspect that the reworking will also take it out of the 'hardware capability range' of the console, which i believe is in no small way, responsible for the game being in this sorry state to begin with.
