GW2 ruined my life

KingdouglasKingdouglas Member Posts: 81

Here comes arenanet and promises to completely revolutionise the gaming industry and then I find out that they are still using mouse and keyboard. I can name atleast 3 games that has already used this technology and I feel deeply hurt that the evil company gave us a game that is just more of the same.

I agree, and they're actually using a square screen to display game's gfx. It's total crap imo. When will those devs finally start thinking of something truly inventive? Jeez.. it's like invasion of the clones around here...

  • TyrantasTyrantas Member UncommonPosts: 369

Damn i agree with you, it's so unoriginal to use internet for online games too!

  • madroxymadroxy Member Posts: 53

They are also making me use my eyeballs to see the god damn screen; this is just heracy. Why can't they just think outside the box!

  • MeowheadMeowhead Member UncommonPosts: 3,716

You have to admit the combat is definitely bland, derivative crap.  I mean, they use swords and the guys just swing them and do magic and stuff.

I'm waiting for a gane that delivers the true innovative insulting swordfighting experience first delivered in Monkey Island.  Of course, with modern technology, I'd like to see procedurally generated insults, so the experience will remain unique and fresh.

You guys are misinformed, because you can play with your gamepad so you wont have to use mouse and keyboard.

Also I already play on a custom built circular screen which I'm sure gw2 will take full advantage of like no game has before.

I lol at you thinking its going to use the internet, most likely they will have built their own engine for that part of the game, utilising some new technology they developed.

    Fail uninformed trolls are fail.

I am a GW2 cynic myself, as many of you know, (and for good reason), but aren't you guys taking it like ... a step too far?

I mean ... come ON! The game DOES have some merrits, right?

Especially you, Meowhead, disappoint me with this.

Yeah, I hate how ArenaNet claim to be making a revolutionary MMO but they give us the option for 3D gaming. Well that's not good enough. I WANT 4D GAMING. I want to feel the electricity flowing through my body everytime I switch to Air attunement. I want to be slapped in the face everytime I fail to dodge. And I want to feel the flames as the forums ignite. ^_^

Deeply hurt! Jeez you must really have no life. If your gonna complain at least have a viable argument for why your upset. Keyboard and mouse!!! when 99.9% of all hoseholds with computers still use mouse and keyboards what else are they gonna use kenect? well ther goes a third of the households. Nearly 1/3 of all gamers currently playing online games are disabled.

So for all our sakes show restraint before you decide to post anymore. Oh, and before you take offence, think and if you wish to argue you point further be constructive. Have a Nice Day...

When I get knocked back I want to end up in my neighbors living room, when I catch on fire, I want my clothes to ignite and melting off my amazing gamer body! Why can't they do this to 'revolutionise' gaming.....How hard can it be!?

Now that would be epic... millions of nerds dying from playing WorldvWorld, leaving no one in our next generation to rule the world. But even without 4D gaming, I'm still sure we'll hear stories about some dude in China dying from playing GW2 for 3 days straight. It's inevitable.

what really makes me sad is that they couldn't just add certain-area-trigger popup recorded voices calling out for help randomly when you pass by streets and if you failed to notice you would miss out on an awesome food or a free chapter of the novel or something.

it would definitely make you keep the audio on

and make it so much more immersive

Also, what the fuck is with the loading screens D:

Godammit A-Net why couldn't you invent close to light speed travel so that when you play gw2 time slows down allowing all players to play more gw2 in a given amount of time.

You know, if they just double the game speed, and you inject yourself with pure adrenaline, then it will be similar to that, although it will magnify the effects of lag / kill you, so.... has ups and downs.

This is the negaverse/bizarro world thread.  In this thread, you have to protect the chastity and virtue of Guild Wars 2, while we complain about all the ways it fails. :)

4-D is just another dimension in space. Research teserects and such, those are 4-D structures in a 3-D light (since we can't actually see 4-D and its all theoretical).

I was really looking forward to GW2, till the Manifesto video, and I realised they had failed to promise that the game was actually real, and you would be controlling people in a parallel universe that you can visit with a dimensional portal in the first expansion and be hailed as a god-king and given wenches and cake.

My heart hasn't broken this hard since Cryptic failed to deliver my Vulcan love slave when I pre-ordered STO.

A lot of those were getting intercepted at the post office, I'm afraid to say.

That's why you should have paid the ltitle bit extra for certified delivery. :(

On the other hand, thanks to you there's a happy postal employee getting a little Pon Farr action.

As i said 4D is time.

GW2 could implement 4D in the way that everything changes/decays over time. It would be extremely hard as you have to create a world that can totally change (like the Earth has).

You don't get it: they're trolling by using reverse logic which in turn managed to troll you into writing that response. ;D
