Hey at least it looks better than Tera.  Geez am I tired of swords the size of a horse.

Opinions, IMO Tera looks like a real mmorpg (just like GW2 and Archeage) while SWTOR is just a kiddies first mmorpg catering to the lowest common denominator.

And the beta leaks aren't encouraging at all.

Glad you brought that up.  At least you know your opinion is just as worthless as mine.

SWTOR will be a day 1 buy for mmorpgbro.

As for the beta leaks, as we can't talk about them, its pointless to bring them up here,  but all I'm going to say on this subject is,  There are plenty of people, me included,  who do not need to rely on beta leaks to make a strong opinion,  some of which who have better indicators than various "leaks".

Skew it however you want, you'll just be disappointing yourself more when you realize how popular SWTOR is.

Tera. You mean the game that launched with no endgame.

The game that is already bleeding subs in the country it was developed.

The game that had it's Development director resign.

Is this the "real mmorpg" you are talking about?

    Never!

The longer this thread gets, the more unintelligent it gets and the more more unintelligent it gets, the more I want to post in it...

Pretty soon the "wow-clone" and "sheeple" and *insert sandbox MMO name here* people will invade the thread and then things will get truly epic.

    Oh wait, IT HAS BEGUN

I know right? People are so silly... Archeage is a complete unknown, but let's see... MMO's that came out of the East that were supposed to change everything in the West...

Lineage 2? Nope. Aion? Nope. Anything Perfect World? Nope.

Tera? Will be a major no. Archeage? Will be a major no.

Yes, it only has to "work" once but come on people... how many times are you going to fall for the same tricks?

Eastern MMOs = crap. Grind heavy, carbon copy, badly polished games with great character models (if not RIDICULOUS) and terrible, terrible environments.

Tera looks like an eastern version of GW2 which means it will be awful in comparison to GW2, which is evident by your above posts about how bad it is.

Archeage is going to be the Darkfall/MO of the east - this supposedly great sandbox game that will be so awful people will start wondering if the whole thing was just a big ponzi scheme.

So what did you think of the "House Elf" race in GW2?  Personally I am hoping they scrap them and try again, but I doubt they will.  I will still try GW2 I am sure, but only to get a break from better looking games, like SWTOR, once in a while.

And my reaction was precisely neutral.   They both look decent but I cannot make any decision without trying GW2 for myself.

I've been waiting for TOR since it was announced and hadn't really paid GW2 much attention until recently and I have to agree. Taking the 'Star Wars' factor out GW2 is starting to look much more appealing to me.

I'll still try both but I can already tell which one i'm more likely tospend more time in.

Just goes to show that it takes all kinds to make the world go 'round and that we're all looking for different things.  It would be strange to ME if everyone was all gaga over just ONE game.  That, is more a sign of unhealthy "sheepism" (yes, I made that word up) than anything.  Well...I'm not a sheep, and neither are you.  We all have our own opinions, likes, and dislikes and THAT.....is healthy.

Yeah GW2 hype far far far exceeds SWToR hype. Whoever argues that is insane. Nto sure if I have seen Bioware come out and say they are dramatically changing stuff. I saw the ussual pr marketing crap, but nothing compared to what ArenaNET has been saying.

    Showing*.

Arena Net doesn't say anything about Guild Wars 2 until it is inside the game, and is working how they want it to work. They've proudly showed off everything they've been saying at two Gamescons, Pax Prime, Pax East, and Comic-Con.

And? WOW  also holds majority of subs in China..what about their taste? unless you don't include China in Asian market with great and superior taste.

No, it doesn't. It has a large playerbase but it isn't even close to being the one with the most over there.

So this made me curious.....what IS the number one MMO in China?

Last time i checked China contributes around 6 million subs out of total 11 million. I don't know of any other P2P MMO in China with that many subs. And even if there was another P2P with more subs how does that refute my point that WOW is also hugely popular in Asia?

Bioware does the same thing, they only release information about features that are currently implemented.  It's the haters who keep moaning about lacking features that Bioware never said were in game and were never intended to be in the game.

Especially when it comes to the details about the action based combat animations.  Haters keep calling the combat boring becasue it isn't twitchy, yet Bioware has said all along that it's the animations that are active and reactive, not the combat, which is and always has been slated to be MMO typical fare.
