Not that i agree with their views but i find it funny how a guy like Totalbiscuit is praised for giving positive feedback and somehow he is more important (even though many never heard about him before) but these bloggers are no name no bodys. What if they wrote a positive blog? everyone would be praising them.

I imagine it's because their "criticisms" are based on nothing and/or straw man, not because them being negative or something automatically blacklists them. There was no indication that there would be WvW presentation at Gamescon.

Do you feel so threaten that you have to post crap and misinformation like this?
I don't see anybody threatned by GW2. But is it against some cardinal rule of GW2 fans to not post a negative blog or impressions from third party?
No, its not, my post was not directed to the bloggers, but to the OP instead, that makes me want to gouge my eyes out whenever he starts posting random crap.
Tired of seeing his TORvsGW2 shit, and he posted this here only to get a reaction.
Just look thro his post history you get what I mean
I cringe when I see small-scale instanced fights that resemble Counterstrike more than they do fully persistent MMO PvP.
Why does he say that like it's a bad thing?
All I can say to people who dislike the instantiated, arena-style, e-sport, "canned" PvP and say it has no place in GW2 is that you don't seem to understand ArenaNet's goals as they've been since the foundation of their company.
Don't like it? I'm not going to do the thing some people might do and say, "Play something else," because there are a lot of other things to do in the game, and I'm sure there's enough content you'll enjoy, but I am going to say, "Too bad."
E-sports don't have some innate requirement of being limited to shooters, fighting games, and strategy games. There is a place for them in RPG's as well, and at the moment, WoW has the lead for competitive games in this genre, which is rather sad.
I'm actually very pleased with the attention they're giving Structured PvP. I think it will be the big thing that allows GW2 to last for a long time for the simple reason that the developers actually care about it, unlike some other developers that won't be named here.

If what they were praising were things that didn't exist in the game or things that no one has even had the chance to experience, then of course an eyebrow would be raised. Just like the recent post by that guest writer that does some GW2 write-ups. The topic of his most recent write-up hadn't even been shown yet and he was already praising it like he knew it like the back of his hand. Didn't quite sit well with me. So same goes for this, my stomach is upset by praise or criticism with no base value.
Anet seems to share Bioware's PR and possibly development path(s): keep the world pvp info and details for last. These writers are rushing to conclusions but I share their annoyance. Also in regards to Swtor and ArchAge.
I share their "pvp in a can" dislike and I can't get excited on any information on it (in any game). The notion that "stuff that works" gets copied is sadly very applicable on battlegrounds and arena-like content and often seems an easy way out in catering for pvp content. About time for companies to innovate in that area: sure they might have world pvp as a side-dish, but all those battlegrounds and pvp minigames suck up a lot of players who might have participated in massive battles for much more real incentives out in the open instead.
Give us world pvp, dammit. Personally I think no "persistent open world" game is complete without it. About time developers don't feel that having pvp in a can is mandatory. (Or use it as an easy (read: instanced) way out).
Your "stuff that works" argument is equally valid for open world PvP, or would be if it could work with how they have set up their game.
Arena based PvP is NOT in the game as an easy way out, and I have seen nothing that would indicate that Anet has just sat on their thumbs and given us "what works" in arena based PvP without thinking about how to make it as good as possible.
Your dislike of instanced PvP is fine. Your reasons for wanting all PvPers to participate in WvWvW instead of the instanced PvP are valid reasons. However, I think that it is fairly well understood that, if you want an E-Sport, you have to have some sort of arena based PvP to do it in. Even with all the arenas, people will still play WvWvW, which is NOT an instance, and more like a structured convergence of 3 servers on 4 zones that are dedicated to PvP...
Everything that I have to say about the 2 links in the OP has already been said except for that neither blogger actually went to GC11 as far as I can tell.
The red part quite nicely sums it up for me. I don't really want nor need an e-sport in my "persistent open world mmoRPG". There are plenty of other genre's for that (who often do a better job at it too).
All the great reasons for how dynamic events are a much more natural, immersive way of offering quest content in a mmoRPG, are also applicable on how world pvp (restricted to certain areas or not) are a much more realistic, immersive pvp solution compared to pvp in a can.
I'm not interested in PvP in a can either, but many are so including it makes sense. And most importantly, it doesn't negatively affect my enjoyment of the rest of the game. The only PvP I'll be participating in is WvWvW.
As for eSports, I think the concept is kind of silly, like referrring to lawn bowling or darts as a sport. But again, many people are into it and it doesn't adversely affect me. Plus it raises the game's profile, which can only lead to more sales and more development funding. That will get back to me eventually and in a positive way.
Before I start to post crap I do my homework for god sakes
So u didnt see WvWvW during this demo, so it instantly isnt part of the game??? I mean I get it when this crap is discussed on forums by random uninformed trolls, but blogging like a boss about it???
Also hes one of those people saying GW2 is all about PVP because GW1 was as well as saying GW2 will be imba balanced because GW1 was - this is THE exact overhyping and overexpecting like is with DEs - some people just think the world will change all the time, never repeating itself...people are getting dummer for real..
/rage off
I dunno why but it somehow pissed me off a lot
as well as crap people are gonna quote me like crazy that Im defending the game zealously and that Im hatin on these two just because they were negative...
I think I actually spent way more time reading and theorycrafting about MMOs than playing them

Do you feel so threaten that you have to post crap and misinformation like this?
I don't see anybody threatned by GW2. But is it against some cardinal rule of GW2 fans to not post a negative blog or impressions from third party?
There's already a detail assigned to the task. It would be redundant for us to scour the internet looking for the very few negative comments by bloggers and reviewers that can be found, when the Cabal of Furious Loathing is busy doing just that already. They do their job, we'll do ours and we'll both scorch the earth in the middle, mmkay?
Besides, finding negative blogs and reviews isn't easy. Sorry, but that's the reality. Most of the vitriole for the game will be found in forums like these, voiced by individuals who have a bone to pick and who have never once sat down and tried it. Maybe, just maybe, all the positive comments by people who have tried it is because they genuinely enjoyed their experience. Isn't that an unpleasant thought?
I don't see anybody threatned by GW2. But is it against some cardinal rule of GW2 fans to not post a negative blog or impressions from third party?
Basically. As you start to deal with them nothing can possibly be negative about GW2. We will see. Hard to criticize a game 8 months out from an actual release and running on hype.

I wonder if you could, just once and for a moment, try to understand what is actually being said about a thing before you knee-jerk into a negative spin on it. Let's review:
Two people complained in an online venue about GW2 (the game you say is 8 months away from a release when we don't yet have a release date) showing off an aspect of PvP they themselves have no interest in - which is their prerogative - and without asking, or looking for other information, jumped to the premature conclusion that this meant the aspect of PvP they personally WERE interested in, would not be in the final release. They have then released articles PREDICATED upon this conclusion being true.
These individuals have created a version of GW2 that only exists in their minds, and are criticising an aspect of GW2 that only exists in their minds. It is the most sloppy form of argument known to humankind.
Yes, in fact, this phantom, fantasy version of GW2 would be a problem. Good thing it doesn't exist in reality!

@Chilliesauce As others have stated, It isn't that the "critics" are being bashed for a negative opinion of the game. They are being bashed for false expectations and holding that against the game. Doing so loses all credibility on their part and makes the OP look bad because he felt the need to post it. This shows that the OP is as guilty as they are. Nothing more nothing less.
@Puremallace not to point fingers but I fail to understand why you visit GW2 forums. It is your freedom to do so but you have shown a distaste for the game yet you have been posting like mad lately and none of it says you are for the game. You say hard to criticize a game 8 months out from an actual release date and running on hype, yet that has been exactly wht you have been doing. Hype? Hardly since the info released is being shown as stated per the Dev team. 8 months? Speculation could be even longer who knows. Is that a bad thing? Finished product would be nice so I don't think so. Sorry you aren't impressed or even enjoying the games design and dirtection, I just don't understand why I see you post more than some of the fans is all.
Personally I don't think this game is going to be able to do everything people expect but what game does. I like almost every mmo that releases, I'll be trying GW2 just like I did most recentily with Rift and soon to be SWTOR, TSW, etc. It looks like a lot of fun and I hope they can implement even half of what has been talked about.
However I don't really understand how GW2 fans here can think that there is some sort of large anti-GW2 hate going on in these forums. Whenever I check the GW2 forum here its full of positive posts. Certainly not even a 10th of the hatefest that is going on with SWTOR and earlier Rift. Which I don't really understand except that one, GW2, promises to be an mmo that is not an mmo.
I don't think that's going to happen, but then again I don't think Rift/SWTOR are "exact clones of WoW argebargle!11!!" either. I'm sure I will like them all for what they bring and I don't understand why so many people seem to be unhinged either for or against pieces of entertainment software. But if anything on the mmorpg.com forums GW2 seems to be the rare game that has the crazies FOR it instead of against it.

While I can see your point, you also have to keep in mind how much information has been released about the game already.
Now take that information and store it and then go and read how much of that information has been either misinterpreted, misunderstood, mislabled, added to or taken away from, etc etc and read how many of the "crazies like myself" aren't actually bashing people for having a difference of opinion. Only people have inaccuracies in their information. Hell, I spend more time trying to explain things or directing people where to find the correct information than I do voicing opinions. Sure there is a lot of positive posts and negative posts. But when I go back and read I see it is either bad information or people who fail to accept that although not all share their opinion on the game, sometimes they base their negativity on something that was never there to begin with. Like the 2 bloggers inthe OP's link. Just sayen.

Just two more opinions for the pile. The internet is full of them.
I love what they have shown so far of the PvP personally, and can't wait to see the official reveal for the server wars.
I heard they blew all their budget on the voice acting and didn't have enough left over to put WvWvW in at launch.
