WOW is gonna have more Eastern influences like this because that's where the majority of it's subs are coming from. WOW in the West will take a huge beating when TOR,GW2 and TSW comes out. Blizzard to me are just looking down the road ahead of time so when it does happen they will continue to roll as usual.
If i had to actually take a guess and predict the future, i would say that WOW will go full F2P with in the next year give or take. It's gonna make the most business sense for Blizzard to do so. Asian's don't pay for subs, and they will have no choice if they want to keep all those in the East playing.

For them to go F2P they will have to lose a lot of subs say around 4 million in west alone. You are really telling me they are going to lose that many players in a year or so? if not why would they go F2P when they rake in millions with their current business model? i swear people don't think before opening their mouth.
Competition normally makes for better products. So when WOW and SWTOR compete we should get a better MMO right? Well not if both games are total turkeys to start with. Both are utterly unoriginal interms of game play and style, they have the same old shitty EQ style combat, same old quest and level system (yawn).
So normally competition makes for better products but not in this case.
Such a shame.
Neither are like EQ combat, AC2 ? Maybe, EQ? No.
Yes they are - ie traditional point and click shitty button mashing combat as opposed to twitch based combat where you actually have to aim and dodge like an FPS. I call that EQ style as most MMOs like WOW have followed this style.

There are lots of things in ancient lore that looks childesh for example cutsey gnomes and hobbits for another example even though not directly related to WOW. But does that make LOTRO childish? it is a matter of perception and taste. You just took one example to make your point and ignored the rest.
It has nothign to do with religion but you do lack a very basic understanding that while some will hate Pandarians other will love it. Welcome to real life where tastes differ.
Nothing wrong with little people, that works.
Now cartoon cute panda bears on the other hand are almost synonymous with little asian kids much like the Hello Kitty brand. If you're down with that, then there really isn't much I can do for you.
This game is getting Easternized and most of you can't even see that because your Blizzy defense shield is blocking your view. Good luck

If you can tell me one mainstream succesful MMO with FPS game style i will agree with you. But in my opinion MMO players are very comfortable and happy with EQ/WOW style combat.

You are generalising once again and fail to understand that adults and kids enjoy cartoon/animated Pandas equally. When i went to see Kung Fu panda majority of audience were grown up. It is not something exclusive to Asians.

4 million players of WOW are going to just get up and leave to GW2, SWTOR and TSW. yeah that makes perfect sense. You convinced me.
Year after year same bull***. i wish people would just learn from past MMO releases.
Most MMORPG players do not want twitch based, FPS style combat.
We won't know that until a big studio offers an mmo with FPS combat. Until then, speak for yourself.
Oh ya.....I believe Blizzy mentioned something about FPS combat with respect to the "Titan" project. Yuppers, so I guess your beliefs will be put to the test in the not so distant future.
Mmorpgs have incorporated tab targetting largely due to technological restraint. But, as you may be aware, technology tends to improve over time, and it looks like your twitch skill may just have to do the exact same thing.

Yes, you hit it. TOR alone may not do it, but add in the other two and yes, WOW can lose that many players in the West for sure. Hell, they already have the first 20 levels F2P, it doesn't take much of an imagination to think they won't do the same for the whole game. They also now, introduced RMT's where you can buy gold and item's will real life money. Doesn't take a genious to see the path they seem to be taking.
I've always thought StarWars was going to be successful but the degree of success was always in question . The elephant in the room was always what Blizzard were going to do to combat the potential competition from TOR . With the annoucement of the Kung Fu Panda expanion yesterday which seams extremly weak in concept I think Blizzard have given it to TOR on a plate . If the game is as polished and fun as early reviews make it out to be the potential exodus from WoW to StarWars could now be on a epic scale . There must be howls of delight and relief in the Bioware offices at the huge miss step by Blizzard just as they are about to release TOR .
An early Christmas present indeed .
Remember the 'early reviews' are mainly from the media who get referral $$ and awards in spin doctoring. Once the NDA has been lifted from people who don't get a cut from their views on the game you will be seeing a whole different story about STWORs success. (of course i might be totally wrong but hey opinions are opinions).
Blizzard know what they are doing..Bioware don't get a choice with what they do since they are EA/Lucas' bitch. For every one person saying WoWs next expansion is lame retarded etc i bet there are 9 others who don't go to forums but will be buying the expansion.

If i had penny for everytime someone made posts like these for last 5 years i would be a millionaire. WOW is dying, WOW will lose millions of subs because 'x' MMO is releasing. Been there and done that. This is not the only year when players are super excited or high profile MMOS are releasing. But like i said people forget.

You're correct. My friend is in the real TOR beta and the bull you read on this site and others about TOR being not good or polished and is just a WOW clone are so far off that it's not even funny.
4 million players of WOW are going to just get up and leave to GW2, SWTOR and TSW. yeah that makes perfect sense. You convinced me.

WoW is losing subs in the West on their own at this point, bud. You don't think SWTOR/GW2 will have any kind of impact? Hell, Rift even made a small dent into their playerbase and most gamers had no clue that the game even existed.
Time has caught up with WoW which was obviously inevitable. WoW will be around for years to come, but that will be sans the crown. It's been one helluva run, though.

It's not a matter of not learning it is simply a matter of projecting what they want to happen on the current situation. The WoW hate runs deep for some reason. Warhammer, AoC, Rift, all WoW killers. All failed to kill WoW. Now we are simply using the multiple release scenario instead. So now we don't have one WoW killer we have many all taking their piece until WoW has nothing left. All of this due to Pandas.
It's funny because if you say ToR will be F2P in 6 months people get all defensive yet saying it about WoW is ok. History shows that besides Rift all of the WoW killers are now F2P yet it will be WoW that fails. Once again all because of Pandas and an Asian theme.

For me i couldn't care less about WOW. It's just common sense that people will start to gravitate toward a new prouct or product's that are very well made and distributed. The latest game to be released was RIFT. It had a small impact to WOW but it still had a impact. Now add in the behemoth that is TOR coming in two months and GW2 and TSW some time next year and you can see the impact that it should make. Those other games other than RIFT were released buggy and incomplete and never stood a chance at creating and changing the MMO demographics that WOW has been cornering for years now.
At the end of the day if you like WoW, you play WoW or at least come back from time to time hehe.. I admit that I had my /nerdragequit times back when BC expansion was released, still I went back but then I quit for good. Some people don't like sci-fi games, and I doubt TOR will make WoW players to quit their fantasy game. Actually you may see more WoW players going to try GW2 and play both *shrugs*
