Is this not the case? i.e. the waves will continue right through the whole EA period now?

If this is true then  what was the point of the early access if some people don't get the full original 5 days announced and promised for my pre-order?

This has got to be one of the most confusing communications from a company I have ever witnessed.

I bet it sucks to be wrong and then make a thread about it just to try and convince yourself and others that you're right after all.

Doesn't change the fact you still misread and were/are wrong about this.

Its the same with any pre-orderr.  You get in a little bit ahead of the crowd.  In this case, most people will get at least 4 days headstart.  If that doesn't float your boat, then the pre-order was a waste of... nothing.  As a worst case scenario, you will get to play on the 20th.  If you had waited for the actual release date, you would be playing after the 20th if you went for the boxed sale.

Since you were going to play either way, its just a matter of when you wanted to spend the money.

I self identify as a monkey.

Don't feel too bad  OP.  The 'Up to" phrase always catches people. It's a marketing gimmick used everywhere.

I used to be a salesman in a furniture and appliance store (horrible fucking job) and every time they would have a sale you would see things like  "Up to 70% off everything in the store!" Meanwhile, they only had one broken lamp in the clearance section that was 70% off.  The rest of the shit was like 5%.  People would get  IRATE about it. Every time.  But the same stupid people would end up buying shit anyway.

It's always good to research what you are getting into when any kind of marketer or advertising is involved.

He has a right to be mad even if he is wrong. As I said in an earlier post EA was intetionally vague to play on peoples excitement to get in game by holding a carrot up to get you to buy the game directly from them. They did not outright lie but they were not clear. If you have recieved the e-mail they sent to me you would have thought you were in on the 15th. This has backfired for EA even on their own forums. By the 21st everyone will be playing and will have forgotten all this but that does not take the bad taste out of customers mouths about EA's handling of the pre-orders regardless of who misunderstood who.

A very sound post. However you have to remember that mmos are a bit different and players passions run high and shallow. There is no other gaming genre that gets gamers so passionate. I am in support of those complaining but I am also not losing sleep over it. I am a pretty smart guy who can read and EA was vague on this whole pre-order thing to get you to buy the game from them through Qrigin in my opinion.

Yet , if they advertised that preorder people will get in the game before everyone else ( especially if they said X days before )

Than by laws of many countries including the US, you can sue them.

I actually pre-ordered the game, with money, in  early August.  I didn't want to be in the beta and didn't want all the spam that comes with entering my code.  I was in the Aion beta and that ruined the game for me.  So I waited to enter my codes until last week. I admit, I didn't read any fine print, or many of the announcements until now, but I've been a part of a few launches.  This is a new one on me.  I'll take my lumps... I guess I have to, but I put money down in August.  Some of you haven't paid a dime and are saying "we deserve,' .... not really.   I'm still going to play, but it doesn't mean I'm not feeling a little sour starting the game.   I'll certainly be a little more critical because of this experience and less likely to continue to play should things go south in the future.

Yea, Bioware is keeping their word. Up to 5 days. That doesnt mean we cant be upset about how Bioware is handling this. Its like when a sleazy lawyer sues someone over the fine print. Sure, its legal, but it still makes you look negatively upon the situation.

    Agreed?

i kind of feel sorry for bioware. here there were being nice and letting a few guys in early and they're getting flack because all those guys' friends didn't get in at the same time.

with all the hate and mind-boggling nerdrage, you'd think bioware was closing its servers on everyone.

have a bit of patience and understanding. this is obviously a big mmo with a lot of people wanting in. their solution to preventing all the servers crashing and fizzing on launch, while not necessarily the most elegantly executed, is meant to actually make your entering the game a more positive experience. that is, less queues and hopefully less qq.

i know it's sad to realise you're not as special as you thought, but considering how many people have pre-ordered, i'm sure bioware aren't sitting on their business chairs cackling with glee because they've ruined your life by having you wait a few days to play a game you plan on spending (possibly) months playing.

    relax.

    take a chill pill.

and try to tell yourself that some people pre-oredered the game in other countries and won't be getting in early because their country is considered even less important than you. they won't even be getting in "by five days". at this rate, not even fifteen!

hello to any other australians here...

They arent preventing any server hiccups by doing this though. The servers are still going to crash and burn when the majority of players log in on the 20th. Its how it is for every game, the people logging in for early game access and bringing their servers to light load isnt where the issues arrise, and keeping people out is just leaving a bad taste in peoples mouth.

Do you also post stuff like this if you didnt win the lottery? you know: "You might win up to $20 million" - its exactly what they told you, you might get up to 5 days early access. Well i ordered late so u only get 3-4, what are you QQ about?

All guilded players should have sameday access.

    Assnine policy Bioware.

Yeah, but you could still have preordered 6 months ago unless you been spending the last 6 months in a war zone with no net at all and no friends that could preorder for you.

The best way however to get the guild start same day would be to decide to star when everybody has the game working, it is somewhat frustrating for the guys getting it first but still something most friends would do for eachother.

More "weight" should have been given to guilded players in my opinion.

     I strongly disagree here,

So your saying that because you are in a guild u deserve the acces more then me?

So what you saying is i should have just joined a random guild somewhere to get my acces and then scatter...

You dont make sense at all.

Wait it is a guild orientated MMORPG right?

Neither does the date you pre-order.  Somehow you seem that a preorder in October is more important than a preorder in Dec.

    That makes sense also?

First come first serve doesnt make sense to you? you living under a rock the past forever?

Apparently stating the truth in my sig is "trolling"

Really? They changed the original agreement? How odd since you seem to be stucked at:

"They said up to five days.

    Up to.

    Up to.

    Up to."

They can change it whenever they like to whatever they like it seems?

intriguingly, i believe they ALWAYS do say that in the terms and conditions. and if they didn't in that one, i'd say their lawyer messed up bad because it'd have to be the first time a terms and conditions statement DIDN'T say they could change it whenever they liked...

Once again, you're bitching because they gave us MORE than originally stated. If they had changed it and said, hey guys, we can only give everybody three days because the servers are crap, then, ya, bitch about that. But they didn't, they gave us MORE.
