What is OGMWTF funny is lvl 50's in the same battlegrounds as lvl 20's just utterly steam rolling them. Bolstering is the biggest joke ever introduced into mmo's in a long long longggggggggggggg time
You do not even have remotely close to the same number of skills as someone who is 50. That is like putting a mosquito up against a mack truck...wtf was Bioware thinking?
TOR PvP is basic... at BEST and there is absolutely nothing special about it in the slightest. It most certainly does not "rule". It's not really the "PvP" sp to speak but the combat system in general. I have seen more dynamic combat system in Super Mario Bros. than what is in TOR. You are either brand new at PvP or are a rabid Star Wars fanboi.
It feels a lot more balanced then WoW - any player/class really does have a fair chance to beat any other player/class one on one it's all about skill.
I've been rolled by the same class/spec of the same level and turned around and rolled another player of that same class/spec/level.
Like WAR, healers and Tanks are actually important but unlike RIFT and WoW the healers aren't god-mode invincible.
Me (dps) and a tank and a healer (tank was Guarding healer) took on 4-5 players at a time and won, over and over again, because we were better organized and more skillful.
10000x more balanced then WAR or RIFT were at launch.
Feels more balanced then WoW PvP already.
Bolstering is awesome, can PvP with my guildies who are higher or lower level without issue. Can take out higher level players if I out play them.
Concerns -
Once at 50 and actually start equiping PvP gear is the added PvP stats going to upset that balance and become another WoW-esque gear grind for PvP gear? I hope not, but it probably will let's be realistic.
being lower than 50 and fighting level 50 players in the warzones that have their PvP gear. Its like being a level 50 who decided at some point to just stop allocating their skill points, removed ALL their gear and with 1 hand tied behind their back (im being serious) so they can only use part of their available skills... queued for PvP.
that is LITTERALY what it feels like to me.
whoever thought "ooooooh... lets boost lower level players to 50 instead of making brackets!!" ... was obviously a goddamned genius.

I am not a fan of SW, just to state that up front. What I am is curious on this statement you made. Can you please provide some further details on the dynamic combat system in Super Mario Bros. which you feel is more better than this game? Specifics would be appreciated.

ah... so you're new to PvP then.
To answer you question... In Super Mario Bros. you could dodge. In TOR you can not.

Basically this. They can save themselves a god awful amount of unsubs if they seperate the 50 pvp bracket right now. Also zone instancing on the open world pvp planet is the definition of silly. Separate quest hubs makes no sense either.
I fully expect TOR pvp servers to take the same hit Rift pvp servers took over the long run, especially with GW2 SOMETIME next year.

lol
Thats it? being able to dodge in a D2 environment is the dynamic combat system you're referring to as superior to SW:TOR? Seriously?

add a dodge mechanic to TOR and the combat dynamics will go through the roof. ...so yes. seriously.
PS: graphics/environments have jack to do with combat mechanics.

So which curent MMORPG out there do you play which has a dodge mechanic in it's combat system? Curious to see how many out there actually have this supremely important mechanism in place. And does it help in PvP any, or does it cause people to jump around link rabbits or run in circles in order to be victorious in the PvP (what some refer to as SKILL)?

I don't know about "STsynner", but I have a few characters that can dodge in Ktera and yeah it makes a big difference in game play.
Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries...

Because hitting 1-2-3-4-5 is skill right? lol
Coming from an army vet, i consider dodging to be more skill based than mashing buttons.
Stand still and shoot if you want to. I ran like a roach caught in a light. I'm here to tell about it.

And this is why I'm inquiring into this. I'm not saying dodge isn't something that shouldnt be in combat, Im trying to figure out why nobody uses it in thier MMORPGs which are out on the market now. I mean, if we are going to talk down this game because it doesn't have it, shouldnt we at least wonder why it isnt in any of the major AA MMORPG games currently out? And in that sense, shouldnt we be talking the ALL down for not having it instead of just this one??

DC Universe was a flop, Free to Play in record time. And unless I'm mistaken, TERA is not out anywhere but Korea right...GW2 isnt even out yet? Come on guys, if we are going to talk this combat mechanic up, and say its required, at least come up with some example thats proven it to be exactly that. If the dodge mechanic was as important in quality PvP and the rest as irrelivant as you make it out to be, then why exactly did DC land smack dab on its face as fast as it did? Shouldnt it have made 'all the difference'? Hey, I'm on your side here, I think button mashing and auto target lock are total BS when it comes to PvP. What I'm not sold on is that a single mechanic, as simple as dodge could make or break a game by itself when it comes to PvP. So sell me on it.

I guess for the same reason a lot of MMO's still use the tired trinity system or the "go here and do this" questing mode... cause it's "safe". And investors LOOOOOVE safe games. People log into a game with a new combat technique that theyre not used to and you get general chat filled with "OMG this game suxxors" or "so and so is hacking!!" simply because they havent learned how to break their old "stand in one spot and push 1-2-3-4-1" routine.
wanna guess how many times i was called an exploiter simply for dodging and rolling in DCUO? lets just say that launch day and a few days after were filled with the tears of n00bs that failed to comprehend that if you dodge you dont take damage...
