I rarely use this website unless I want to guage what a new games like before buying it . To look at some of the comments here you would think StarWars the Old Republic is a terrible game . So I went searching the web to see if I could find a review thats negative about it . So far every one I've come across sings its praises.
So I would like to challege someone to find a negative review (as long as its from a reasonably legitimate source ie a relativly well known gaming website ,newpaper or magazine website . Not someones blog review or a gaming site that invites people to submit thier own reviews .
I'm sure there must be a few out there but all in all the reviews I've seen are overwealmingly possative .

That sandboxer site. There was also a site dedicated to WoW that gave it a poor review.
I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.
This has been discussed many times.
If you think that so many people being disatisfied with the game are just mindless haters, play the game and try and find all this glorious PvP, amazing aesthetics and 8/10 innovations. Simple as that.
Then you'll understand how ridiculous those scores are for a game like this.
It's a good generic game in the Star Wars Universe.. but it certainly isn't as good as most of those reviews.
..Cake..
critic reviews are going to be high.. they always are with big names from big developers no matter if the game is good or not (Just look at warhammer online and modern warfare 3).. my advice go over to youtube and look at some HD videos of people playing, pvping, doing some quest, fighting, and judge from there if you feel the game is worth the purchase

most player i have spoken with love it!oh dont get me wrong there are a lot of small issue but often the bug and stuff starteed because of change bio had to make to satisfy customer ,like changing our view distance affected smaall setting they ll need to correct, but on average very smooth lunch, often mecanic are in place to help aleviate bugs issue!it doesnt always work but then wow still have bugs and its been what 7 years lol.so the bugf issue isnt high on mty list and often the bugs doesnt affect my game play!(i have more chance of breaking my cc affecting more my gameplay then bugs in swtor lol.but hater will hate, some here are bent on hating this nice title will all their might!why did they pay 60 $ then just go play chesss and leave the rest of us alone with your no knowledge opinion.it is like yesterday i am a mercenary bodyguard, someone keep coming to my cced im like why the heck do you break my cc?the person cause if only last a few second!i m baffled concussion last 60 s how many second do you need gees ,but people kept aoeing.i dont mind if they screw up no biggy but saying a ly to save face who care about your face gees.anyway he didnt know bodyguard had a 60 s cc!i was a mercernary so i couldnt heal and i couldnt cc!hahaaha
like the view thing, you see further right?ok champion go to a planet then go to another!see your view distance?it revert back to max distance was at lunch !lot of stuff was set for that distance they patched to max distance but not everything related to distance was patched up yet!soon i suspect tho!
A website writes a bad review of SWTOR.
Result: The Star Wars fans go crazy and boycott the site and start flaming and badmouthing it.
So: Websites write good reviews of SWTOR. The fans are happy, and most others just shrug.
Let's play Fallen Earth (blind, 300 episodes)
Let's play Guild Wars 2 (blind, 45 episodes)
Gamepro did a video review of it and bashed it to hell. Here's a link to the video. gave it like a 2 out of 10 lol. just answering your question. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kVieZI5296I
Stopped watching after "Ive been playing SWTOR for about a week now, i dont know how many hours I've put in probably about 15 or so"
Only 15hrs playtime = Not a valid review. They wont have even got off the starter planets if they played all the content

i remember some guy getting fired over giving a bad game review, so i seriously doubt you'll see many places take the chance of pissing off a major Dev but trashing their game. i don't think anyones paid off i just think no site wants to get black listed.

We can all agree that Tianic is one of the best movies? Or?
SWTOR is new, shiney and certainly entertaining at least 20 hours so it is a good game.
y agreed 15 hour they saw what starting area?lolit is like judging wow on their starting area?lololo!i laughed so hard !there is alost nothing to see in starting area it is a tutorial almost in all game!
I wouldn't put that much into reviews. I played the game for a week, and it was a good solid game. However, it wasn't mind blowing or crazy awesome. The graphics are okay, the story is okay, and the quests are okay. And I have played WOW, Champions, Warhammer, Everquest II, Lord of the Rings, EVE Online, Age Of Conan...and I am probably leaving a few out. Anyways, it is a good game. But, don't expect OMG this is the best game ever.
Currently Play: ?
Occasionally Play: Champions, Pirates of the Burning Sea, WOW, EVE ONLINE
I couldnt find a bad review of WAR, Aoc, aion, Rift, etc etc............................then the shite hit the fan.
There not called reviews anymore, but marketing scams. ty come again.
This is probably the case, very hard to write a bad review if you accept advertising money from game companies.
But also you have to be fair and try to measure a title vs what other did before and what is currently available and not on how you would have preferred it to built.
So its fair to compare it to WOW and its gameplay mechanics but not EVE.
It's also not fair to put too much weight into limitations that are more subjective or aethetic which might be a huge issue for you personally (i.e. customizable UI or in depth character cutomization) but really has no real impact on actual gameplay.
Review scores have become so compressed at the upper end of the scale these days that the text of the review frequently implies a much lower score than it ultimately receives. (like the one MikeB did on this site)
I guess we now have to assume that a score of 8.7 is the new "6 or 7" (a bit above average) and for a game to be really great it better get a 9.5 or higher.

That link is misleading. It wasn't really a review, so much as a loose impressions piece.

I just find it interesting that the only ones that had anything negative to say, just happened to be a magazine with nothing to lose. They might have been the only ones who could afford to be honest.
When I want a single-player story, I'll play a single-player game. When I play an MMO, I want a massively multiplayer world.
i could give you one of those if you want.
There probably some truth to that . But quite frankly given the amount of trolling in these forums and that moderation seems to be very slow to deal with it( or maybe they agree with some of it because no ones unbiased ) its amazing that developers arn't removing advertising revenue from this site already. It seems to be a pretty toxic to me and developers would be far better not supporting it for many of the same reasons .I've looked at some of the oldest posts on the more popular games on these forums and every one of them seems to be torn to shreds at release . If I were a developer I would want to have nothing to do with this site . It appears to be troll central .
LOL yeah, just did the same thing all these "reviewers" have 30 hours combined play between the 4 of them.
If you don't like a game don't play it, and quit running to MMORPG.com to trash it.
That, and there's most likely something a little extra from EA to keep them giving shinning reviews of EA games.
What do you mean . There were plenty of bad reviews for Warhammer online and Age of Conan . Rifts still maintaining a pretty healthy population so the shite hasn't really happened there .

where are the bad critic reviews for warhammer online?

Plenty of bad reviews out there for this game. In fact, most of the are. Every single one I have run across has apparently been by writers sniffing too much model glue or wrote it at their pc while in their "I Yoda" undies.
Seriously though, this game is alright so no reason to expect bad reviews for it far as discussing the game itself. However, I say these reviews themselves are actually bad because some of these ratings and reviews I have seen are way over the top. Just hurts the game in the long run. Anyone actually looking at those reviews is going to come into the game with higher expectations than I personally believe the game can deliver. Which will ultimately lead to them being disappointed. They would be better off if these reviews were more grounded.
1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical.
2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself.
3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose.
it is strange to read some of them and they are critical on a lot of the aspects of the game and end up with a 90+ score.. very odd
