Do you mean, new for yours standards. Because for me its already the MMO I been playing for longer. I usually was bored in 1-2 months and I'm playing SWTOR since August and still having fun. Of course that's only me, and I'm not cool, not L33T.
It cracks me up when people say that diologue choices are not new because of AOC. AOC had dialogue "choices." SWTOR has dialogue CHOICES. The difference is that in SWTOR dialogue affects your character in a number of ways. Gearing, titles, and character appearance all come from these choices. Taking it to that level in an MMO is new. It's one of the hardest features to implement in single player games like Mass Effect and Dragon Age. Seeing this in an MMO blew my mind.

Yet, there's really not much of a choice as you either have to go pure good or pure evil due to gear, title, character appearance requirements. There's no real "If I was this character, what would I do?" No real options for neutrality. It's either good vs. evil. Not much of a real choice there.

Well..... "good or good" would mean there is no real choice. "Good or Evil" means there is a choice.

Ohhh you mean those choices that 95% of the time the only difference is the first sentence in the resonse and how in the end it doesn't matter what choce you made, that it all end the same? Or how you just get to kill a few extra mobs but in the end it does not really affect the FP at all?
BW does the class story very well, thats about the only thing that I see different. Everything else is a copy of WoW mechanics. Course what do you expect when the top guy at BW stated that more or less your stupid if you don't copy WoW.
When all competitors offer zero choice, there does not have to be much choice. Choice at all is new. But in any case, it is not just good or evil. You can also make choices to impress your companion, or invent your own moral code entirely. Just because you CAN min/max your alignment for gear, doesn't mean you have to. You can min/max it for romance, or to boost one of your companions who has a nice trade skill, or not at all. Plenty of choices in how you want to develop your character.
And see, when you make choices that develop your character, that is really innovative.
Is your character Slalwart, or is she Merciless? What did you decide that Captain Orzik's fate should be after he disobeyed Grand Moff Kilran? Do you shock Vette into a catatonic zombie, or romance her by showing that even Sith can have a sense of humor? Your call.

A lot of choices if not all have some effect on;
A: where the story goes
B: how your companion(s) feel about you
or
C: Your overall alignment.

Curious, and i'm talking about a broad veiw i'm not looking for little things like light sabers i mean something completely new... that has never been done or created before. And before u say voice over quests derp, every mmorpg now a days has a story
Go?.
It's 100% different from rest of the mmorpgs for me since it makes me actually pay attention to the story and enjoy it, I wouldnt trade it for anything since it really wants me to keep going between the HC's/instances/PvP. No other mmorpg does that, I rarely even know what is going on in other mmorpgs other than the zoomed out big picture.
Also, I still mention the VO's since I've played every modern themepark mmorpg and none of them had VO's with group dialog or VO's with such density with having full blown storylines for 8 different class/char, conan does not count since the feature stops at lvl20. If some expansion had something in conan, too bad. Companions, not just pets, but a lot more. I've done instances with my Inquisitor tank companion being the main tank, that leads me to one unique feature, rolling need on gear for my "pet" over other players ^_^ ...I'll have to try that some time in a random groups too!
My brother said he wont be getting this game since it looks like WoW in space, he did anyway after I recommended it to him, and he's having a blast and told me that he absolutely loves the ton of small things that makes this game feel so different, and now he went from "wont buy that crap" to "I'll propably play this for a couple of years" - I doubt it, more like a couple of months knowing him, but the game must do something right after a change of heart like that.

You sound like you never played the game. 95% of all dialogue choices have the potential to affect either alignment or companion affection. If you pick the neutral "meh" choice for your companion almost all the time, you might overlook this. But, when going to 50 with characters that have somewhat different "personalities", it becomes much more apparent.

I played SWTOR for a total of 2 1/2 weeks...in wich i unsubbed and deleted the game off my computer...to me it was boring as hell...offerd nothign i havent seen b 4 and frankly i was dissapoinShur SW offerd some things "new" to the MMORPG games...but ill say this...
You can polish a piece of S*#$ over and over its still goign to be a piece of shiat.
OR
You can put all this money into a civic to make it have 600 hp...its still goign to be a civic...
I now choose which games to play based on negative feedback. IT'S NOT WHAT YOU THINK.
When I see a bunch of d-bags posting irrational flame posts about a game, I play that game since I know that I won't have to spend any time in my game dealing with them. Then when I see them proclaim that another game is great, I avoid it because they will spend most of their time in that game bashing other games. History has taught me this lesson and I have had to adapt. I fear that I will soon have to play just single player games to escape these degenerates.
There has never been a Star Wars MMO based on the Old Republic.
I sit on a man's back, choking him and making him carry me, and yet assure myself and others that I am very sorry for him and wish to ease his lot by all possible means - except by getting off his back.

Not really. This is a trend affecting the entire game industry. Why have a game with "moral choices" if you only get rewarded for being the biggest dbag this side of Jersey Shore or being a saint like Mother Teresa? Moral choices are only fun when the choices are not black or white but endless shades of grey...
I'll be here all year if you need more help.

Story and VO is not new and innovative, even if no game before SW:ToR ever had VOed quest dialogue it still wouldn't be "innovative".
It's still fundamentally identical to wow's text slabs instead you get it read out to you it's just higher production value. What might be new are the responses you can throw back even if they for the vast majority of the time result in (Accept quest) (reluctantly accept quest) (refuse quest)

Someone posted which game that multiple choice quest system is from but i don't recall, it's definitely not new and in this thread tho.

Loved your post but i must point out (not because i wanna enrage you or nothing but i thought it was funny) that you still have the SWTOR signature on your posts. Might wanna remove the signature code. BTW I 100% agree with everything you said.
Edit: Wanna know something funnier? Mine's not loading at ALL and i just noticed HA.

It killed off the possibility of both a good Star Wars MMO and a worthwhile sequel to Knights of the Old Republic.
